He rolled his eyes. "Ahh, is that all? Well, the sooner you give it to me, the sooner you can ********." Another closet, jacket hunting resumes.

"Hmm... Good point." She paused again, "Find the best place for you and/or Tourma to be in the winter... Other than the generic 'inside'." Shrugging, X grinned over to Jack before replying, "Now we're going to go ********, make sure to not be haunted the rest of the day with a mental image of us doing the nasty. Bye bye now."

Well, that was rather vague. Slipping the phone away in his pocket, he gave up his search--the jacket obviously wasn't there--and set out to wander the hallways. Let's see, best places for the winter for himself and Tourma: anywhere they wouldn't freeze. The equator, some random tropical island, any building with a working heater, even the past would do. Changing times replaced all technology, including his metal arm.
Somehow, he doubted it. 'Other than the generic inside..' meant it was somewhere indoors here. And that made things much simpler. The living room fireplace. It took only a short while to reach the living room, and then...well, he wasn't sure what he was searching for.

A drying rack had been set up in front of the fire, where Slush had draped Isto's coat to make it extra warm, without setting it ablaze, before he set out.
In the left pocket was a torn slip of green paper.

And it was blatantly obvious once he actually looked.
Chuckling softly, he stepped over and pulled his coat from the rack, and, in doing so, noticed the green paper. Removing it from the pocket, he shrugged on one arm of the coat, the opposite hand pulling the cell phone from his pocket. Switching hands, he held the paper between two fingers and dialed the phone while pulling on the other arm of the jacket.
Ring.
Ring.

It didn't even make it past the first ring.
"Aren't cell phone glorious~?" A familiar voice chortled into the phone as the person on the other end swirled around in the falling snow. "Did you like it?!"

"Absolutely glorious," he replied, brightening up considerably at the familiar voice. "Aside from hardly knowing how to work it and dealing with a sarcastic mother in law, I'm loving it." Chuckling softly, he paced idly before the fireplace, holding his phone between his shoulder and cheek while he readjusted his jacket. "Where are you, Doom?"

"Where it all began of course~." Slush replied in a sing song voice, grinning cheekily, "Mum'll get over it."

Isto was quite sure 'Mum' had already gotten over it, thinking back to their conversation. Shaking the thoughts away, he again picked up his phone and started for the door, grinning. "You realize I can't drive and talk on a cell at the same time, aye? Not my bike, anyway."

"Don't take the bike... Take one of the cars, they have heaters." There was a tone in his voice that definately made the suggestion not up for discussion. "The lake's frozen over too."

Isto grimaced.
He hated cars. They were so...boring after his bike. And it wasn't -that- cold out yet, really...honestly... Despite the frozen lake and snow and wind chill of negative who knew what. Sighing, he nodded, despite the fact that Slush couldn't see, and changed direction to find the car keys. "I'll take a car. Nice little scavenger hunt you set up for me."

"Tourma helped too~. And thank you, I know you hate them, but it's safer and you know it." Slush smiled as he ran his fingers through his hair absently, gazing out the window of the old SM Center at the lake.

"And she did a wonderful job as well." He paused, then grinned, chuckling. "I especially like my answering message." Reaching the kitchen, he snatched a ring of keys from the rack and headed outside to the car, glancing sadly in the general direction of his bike before climbing in and starting away. Heater cranked up.
Damn cold.
"I know, I know. But...I have a better jacket this year than last?" It was worth a try, anyway. But Slush was right, of course. Better not to risk it. It was only a bit later in the season last year that he had nearly frozen, but this one was already colder.
