"Aye," responds Caroline "She started as a top, that bittie toy that goes 'round and 'round? And then she was a squirrel, and imagine my surprise when she finally changed to a bairn." She smiles, leaning her chin in her hand.
Rojiza takes his headbutt as a desire to get up and play more. She wonders if he knows how to play tag. She stands up and pokes him, then books it in the opposite direction, looking over her shoulder to see if he's caught on.

"Oh I can imagine. Starting a fire with a flint and suddenly, there's a bobcat staring up at me." She smiled properly and handed the other woman a cup of tea.
Sindri knew tag, though had only ever played it once or twice with his mother - he found being chased weird. He mentally checked his paws were velveted, claws in, and ran after her.

Caroline laughs. "Well, it wasnae as sudden as all that," she says. "I knew whot she was, and whot she'd become. It was just...unexpected, is all." She sips at her tea. It's bitter and sweet at once. She holds it in her hands, letting the heat seep in through the ceramic.
Rojiza continues to run away, darting here and there and zig-zagging all over the place. She knows she can't outrun her feline friend outright, but she can most certainly elude him.

"I'd never even heard of Fortunettes before I found Sindri's flint, except vaguely in children's tales. They're...amazing." Alt sat down with her own mug.
Sindri was happy to draw out the time he got to chase - and she was pretty quick on her feet. Not as swift as the rabbits he hunted though, so eventually, he batted her on her ankle and stopped. It took him ten seconds to remember he was supposed to run after tagging.

Rojiza turns tail (ha ha) and chases after Sindri. She makes grabby motions toward him, but is always just out of reach.

The bobcat slowed a tad, after a while, letting her tag him if she wanted. Pity cats can't laugh.

Caroline laughs. "Probably more than let on," she says.
Ro manages to graze Sindri with one pawed hand. She lets out a triumphant laugh, then sits on the ground. Lots of running. Tired Rojiza.

Sitting down next to her, Sindri nuzzled the same hand that tagged him. So. Maybe I could teach you to speak cat?

Raising one paw, he tried to mimic the petting movement on the fur of her tail - not very successfully either. Looks like I need hands too.

"Mulden, eh?" asks Caroline. "That's verra interesting. Have you heard about our, er, adventure in Mulden?"
Rojiza giggles at his unsuccessful attempt at petting her. She wiggles her bushy tail, able to flick it back and forth like a cat, though not so quickly. You'll be quite a regal Fortunette, Sindri, she thinks. And hopefully always so soft.

Sindri couldn't really wave his stumpy tail back at her, jokingly, but he wanted to. It's funny. If he'd met her as a squirrel, he'd probably have ...well, practically bullied her.

Caroline laughs nervously. "It was something to do with a dark magic cult-thing in Mulden. A few of the Fortunette infants were kidnapped." She shivers. "I was the one to draw the men away from them so the others could save the children."
If he'd have met her as a squirrel, she would've run him ragged, hopping from tree to tree, impish little squirrel that she was. She cuddles him close to her and points at the clouds. Leaning back, she uses her arms as a pillow again.

"...really? ...well. Very different from the boring Mulden I remember. I'm guessing everyone is ok now?" Altaira was finding it hard to imagine. Fields, that's all she remembered of the place.
They'd have had such a good time then. She have impishly ran, he'd have impishly chased. As it was, he yawned, showing his fangs and half curled towards her. Snug. Sleepy. Catnap.

Caroline nods. "My guess is not too many people knew about them. Cannae imagine the people of Mulden bein' too happy with dark magic priests."
Rojiza yawns herself, showing teeth not so sharp, but still rather pronounced. Adorable buck teeth used for cracking nuts. Sleepily she curls up on her side and leans her head on Sindri's broad side. The warm sun shines down on them, creating the perfect atmosphere for a catnap. Or a squirrelnap, whichever.
