Mizuki ate her food on a plate while sitting on a log. True, this was her second serving of food, but she still wasn't filled. Her feet buried in the warm sand she looked at the sun, watching it rise over the ocean, emphasizing the waves as they rolled onto the shore. The setting reminded her of home, of how she would spend time with her family on the beach, how her sister would always insist on making sand castles. Her father never failed in forgetting the fireworks, which they would set off as soon as the sun went down and the stars appeared. As she reminisced she noticed another student nearby, clutching at his body as if in pain. It took her some courage, but she stood up and walked over to him, her plate now empty save for the crumbs. "Um, excuse me, are you okay?" Mizuki asked, concern on her face.

Austin looked up at the newcomer, and, seeing it wasn't anyone trying to hurt him, released the kunai he'd concealed within his bandage and stood, dusting his knees off. "Yeah..I'm alright. Just an itchy scab.." Austin buttoned up his shirt, not wishing to reveal his injuries to this girl; After all, he still didn't know who she was. "Thanks for asking. Might I ask your name?..." Austin began to look Mizuki up and down, noticing she wasn't half bad. She had a fair complexion, and a nice figure. She seemed at least a bit nice; after all, she just came over to see if he was alright.

Offering her hand to Austin she gave him a small smile. "I'm Mizuki. Nice to meet you." She said cheerily. Seeing his eyes wander over her made her feel a little uncomfortable, but he seemed friendly. She in turn began to analyze him, taking note of how the wind fondled his brown hair and how his body was well toned despite the shirt. Not wanting to let her eyes linger for too long she looked away for a moment before returning her gaze to him. Austin didn't really seem to be the hostile type and appeared to be human. Despite how she wasn't sure of that, Mizuki was glad to have made at least one new acquaintance at this school. "Ah, you should probably get that scab checked out, then." She pointed out.

"Nice to meet you too, Mizuki. My name's Austin. Austin Gonzales." Austin lightly shook Mizuki's hand, trying to be gentle with it; After all, she was a lady, and she had taken time to indulge him. Besides, she was the first girl he'd actually been initiated by since he came to this school. This was rare, and he didn't feel like ruining it. "You think? I just had it checked out though, yesterday. The nurse said it'd be okay if I just maintained it and kept the bandage fresh..." Austin fiddled with it through his shirt a bit, suddenly feeling that the bandage was un-square and that he should fidget with it.

Taking her hand back and nodding at his name Mizuki saw him play with what she assumed was the bandage, seeing that it was in the area he was clutching to earlier. "That's good. Are you hungry? The barbeque started not too long ago." She turned slightly, motioning to the buffet that was set up not a long distance away. As she took a step forward Mizuki realized that a boy was her first friend here, and found that a little strange. Pushing that thought aside she brought a hand up to her head, adjusting the tie that held her hair slightly. "I should probably find the Nurse's Office, or infirmary, or whatever it is called here. I just got here yesterday, and haven't quite explored around yet." She said nervously to Austin. At that moment she began to notice how tan his skin was, and that he was probably older than she was, an upperclassman.

Austin stopped messing with his bandage, satisfied it was on right. He looked up when Mizuki said there was food; He hadn't had breakfast yet. "I'll show you where it is as soon as i've got some food in my stomach, if you'd like." Austin looked over at the table of food hungrily, wondering what exactly they had set out; from the mixture of heavenly scents working their way along the airwaves to his nose, he could tell it was a decent spread.

"Um, sure. Thank you! I'll wait for you, then." Mizuki replied, putting her plate away. Seeing that Austin was busying himself getting food she made her way back to her log again as she waited for him. Taking off her flip-flops and burying her feet in the warm sand again she placed her hands on either side on top of the wood below her, basking in the sun's warm light. The last time she had gone to the beach was with her father, the memories flooding her mind. Suddenly she noticed the tears brimming up in her eyes, threatening to overflow. Quickly wiping her eyes to get rid of the tears Mizuki began to play with her hair, turning a stray strand around her finger repeatedly. Her heart ached, and she wanted it to stop. After all, she didn't want her new friend to see her so vulnerable, so weak.

"You okay?.." Austin had snuck up on Mizuki with his suttle foot steps, though not intentionally, and seen her wiping her eyes. Austin took a seat a small distance away from Mizuki on the same log, and began to eat a bit of summer sausage and egg, mixing the two together with his fork while waiting for an answer.

Mizuki's eyes widened, surprised at hearing Austin's voice close by. "Oh! Um, it's nothing, I'm fine." She insisted, putting on a cheerful face. She didn't intend on him seeing her that way, and tried to put the conversation on a different tangent. "Um, how long have you been here at Tenshi? And, what are your majors?" Nishimura asked, desperate to change the topic.

Austin continued chewing his food for a moment, thinking back on his entrance to Tenshi. After swallowing, he answered her. "I think i've been here about 2-3 years. Somewhere around that." Austin shoveled another scoop of egg and sausage into his mouth, chewed and swallowed to answer her second question. "I major in Wind ninjutsu and Martial arts."

Hearing that he majored in Martial Arts Mizuki sat up a bit, watching him eat his food with an amused face. "Wow...In that case, want to have a match between us, Austin? I have some martial arts experience, though not much. I'm more into swordsmanship." She said with a smile, patting her katana's hilt for a moment. "I also major in Lightning magic." She brought her knees up so that she could wrap her arms around them, her feet now out from underneath the sand and exposed to the sunlight.

Austin looked up at Mizuki from his plate of food. Every instinct he had said no, But...When he took official position as Kaze, he made a pact that as a warrior, he would have to take any challenge issued to him. Blasted Samurai-like honor code. He was still recovering from bullet wounds in half his limbs. "If you're challenging me, then alright, we will." Austin finished off the remainder of the sausage, not caring to have any more eggs. He needed to add weight to the food in his stomach so it would be less inclined to come up during his match.

"Well, alright then. But, you still have that scab, right? I guess we don't have to have the match anytime soon, unless you want to." Mizuki raised her hands, remembering his wound. She wanted to hit herself for forgetting about that, and now felt a little bad. Adjusting her gloves slightly and stretching for a moment she stood up, looking at Austin. "Still hungry? Otherwise, you still have to show me to the Nurse's Office." She said, winking at him, trying to brighten up the mood.

Austin smirked a bit, a little relieved he didn't have to fight her now. Thank goodness! "No, I think it'd be best if I waited for a full recovery before fighting again." Austin threw his paper plate up, and it limply flew away in the wind, dancing randomly on the airwaves until it landed in a trashcan at the end of the buffet table 20 ft away. "I guess we could check out the Campus Hospital, I'm curious to see how my friend is doing."

Nodding in agreement Mizuki watched the paper plate fly in the wind, her eyes widening when it landed in the trash can. Clapping for a moment she looked to Austin. "Wow, haha, I didn't expect it to actually end up in the trash from this distance. Nice." She laughed. "Um, so I can see your friend, too?" Mizuki asked, knowing that the question sounded a little stupid. However, she was a little excited that she may have the opportunity to meet another student here.
