((("I'll post on Monday" he says. HA! That's it, I'm taking control!!)))
The overseer seemed to be in shock from Kayako's sudden appearence, and stuttered a little trying to make a reply while retreiving a few papers she'd dropped on the floor.
Kayako, meanwhile, was staring with her head cocked to one side, waiting for some form of information that she could use.
"Oh come on, you HAVE to know if he's here. That's your job isn't it?"
She feigned curiosity and kept her sweet smile. In truth, she was getting really annoyed. The more time she wasted standing here, the more likely it was that someone would see her that wasn't as ignorant of who she was.
thump....
A pulse?
From her chest....a very familiar part of her chest....
'Well well.....' she thought 'Looks like this bozo does need to hurry up! If my brain isn't messing with me, I'm pretty sure Gray just woke up wherever he is.....'
She started tapping her foot and watching the nervous scientist still trying to form some manner of answer. If she didn't hurry, she knew that Gray would most likely go mad, and every staff member in the whole foundation would be flocking out the doors to restrain him. It was a perfect opportunity to find out where he was, but it would mean nothing if she got caught. Finally, she heard a little stutter.

From behind Kayako a young voice called out. "Excuse me." Turning she saw a boy around the age of 12. His hair was a very light blond and his eyes were a piercing blue. He held a large metal paintbrush in one hand. He walked over to her nervously. "Um, don't I know you? My names Aiken."
Putting out his hand he smiled weakly. "I.. I thought you were just a dream. Like those others. I didn't know you were real. Daia said that dreams are just people being stupid."
Around the room several kids seemed to be whispering and looking at her now. At the door a girl with brown hair and matching blue eyes walked in and smiled. "I thought you'd be here." she said and walked over to Aiken. "You shouldn't talk to her Aiken. She'll get you in trouble." Without looking at Kayako she pointed rudely, "She's not one of us."
"But Daia!" Aiken blurted, "I dreamed about her. She flies... she.. she can fly and she knows about the others!"
"Shut up Aiken or you'll be punished." Daia's eyes were cold and wide.

Rain had made her way back to her bed. She sat crosslegged against the corner and listened to the others talk about Kayako. She felt a little anger burn up inside her when Daia showed up. Oh, how she hated her and the rest of that squad.
((Daia is in the Ageha Squad, right? Can't really remember exactly. ^__^))

(Yes, Aghea Squad. She's the mean one)
In the darkness Gray awoke. His head was throbbing and there was a thick heavy feeling in the back of his brain. All around noises seemed to swell and recede. Pain seemed to be his only companion.
Through the haze of his eyes he looked around. The cockpit of Mercury was nowhere to be seen. Instead he found himself on a small cot in a slate grey room. A strange place to wake up for sure. Rising to his elbows slowly he took it all in. A concrete floor. Recently mopped. A metal sink, bolted to the wall. The plumbing was encased in a steel cover obviously to keep meddling hands off. On the far wall was a line of bars and sitting past them. A guard in a blinding white uniform.
Gray rubbed his head and the memories started to flood back in. The fight had been hard. Soldiers had swarmed over Mercury's hull in wave after wave. When the c**k pit had finally opened they had been to close together to avoid his guns. It had allowed a quick exit through there falling bodies. The number that had died after that was even higher. Somewhere in the blaze of battle one of them had gotten lucky and the result was the blinding pain he now felt behind his right eye. It pulsed with the beat of his heart.
thump...
Pain seemed to wash over him.
thump...
Again, it jarred him. With each beat the pressure seemed to increase. He leaned forward and put his hand to his head. There was a sticky coating of blood in his hair and a soar spot behind his right ear.
thump...
Pain.
From the other side of the bars the officer stood and looked him over. "You are awake." He said, "Good. The founder wishes to speak with you." The man busied himself with sending a message but Gray could barely concentrate on it. His head seemed ready to split.
After awhile a door opened and another figure entered the room. An old man dressed in black. His small wire rimmed glasses perched on his nose and a shadow was all that covered his soft bald head. On the breast of his shirt was a symbol. It was a thin black cross with a red diamond at the ends of each line. The symbol was very familiar.
"You.." the old man began,"are subject 34R3KA07 aren't you?"

"I'm very please that you have returned the LFO to us." he continued, "It has been taken to Quatror, another facility in Joy Division. They will be repairing it and investigating any changes that have been made since it's disappearance. We have been looking for it for some time now. I'm afraid you will not be seeing it again however. In fact we were very surprised to find that it had been stolen in the first place. Professor Xelliens laxical security placed a considerable burden on Triga. I believe their funding as a research facility seemed to have dried up shortly after that little fiasco."
Smiling to himself the old man stepped forward. The officer in white brought a chair over to him and placed it near the bars of the cell. With a heavy sigh he sat and straightened out the folds in his cloak.
"Yes, quite a nuisance you were to them." Placing a long bony finger along side his nose he looked into Gray's eyes, "But that will not happen here 34R3KA07." Lowering his hand he continued to stare. "The Novak Foundation is a Lazaretto. No one is permitted to enter or leave without first being approved. You will find it impossible to pull off such an impetuous stunt here as you did there.
"But enough of these idle threats. I actually came to welcome you dear boy. Your presence here has given the Foundation some reason to celebrate. After all, TheEnd's victory over you will go far towards renewing our prestige among the military and the royal families."
Shifting a little he adjusted his rimmed glasses and leaned back in the chair. "I have heard many theories in these past few weeks as to how you were able to take the LFO. Tell me, in your own words. The words of the pilot himself. I should very much like to hear the way you did this."

The doors burst open to the room that held both Decard and Gray. Its loud bang indicated Xellien’s sudden entrance to the room. Although the action seemed harshly forced, his face held no anger or arrogance.
“Decard, of course.” Xellien question to no one in particular. There was a small smirk edging at his lips, but the look held no pride. Behind him followed two U.F. soldiers.
“You are the one that provided me with the Subjects, am I correct?” He stepped forward. His back was strait but his was head curiously tilted forward, “As I’m sure you remember, I’m Professor Xellien. Although you have gone to much work to provide me with test subjects, they are still my subjects. I will have to take Gray back under my watching eye. There is much more I have yet to succeed.” His eyes jerked at the battered Gray. A light of knowledge started to build within his smile.
“Indeed it has given you strength to even your body… incredible… The device can really enhance the mind, which enhances the body.” His eyes turned back to Decard, that same curious twinkle in his eyes, “I’m sure you agree, Decard, so now I will take him away.” Xellien waved his hand and the U.F. soldiers started forward.
(( Hmmm... another piece has been moved, but checkmate has yet to be seen. ))

Kayako didn't waste a moment. She hated it enough that the scientists in this facility treated her like a lab mouse, she didn't need it from some spoiled little brat.
The moment the girl turned away from her, Kayako's hand swung forward, and a loud crack echoed through the room, causing the occupants to flinch. Daia was hit against a wall, a slap mark glowing red on her face. Staggering, when made a motion to move, Kayako swung around and kicked her back, then held her face down on the floor with one foot on her head.
"Listen you....Do you really think I'm gonna take that from some stuck-up little brat?! You should learn to be more respectful, it would save you a lot of pain. But your right, I'm not like you...I'm better, because I don't back down like the rest of these little munchkins. You'd best learn that."
Removing her foot, she grabbed Daia's collor and threw her to the other side of the room, causing her to fall and hit against one of the empty beds. Then, taking a deep breath to calm herself, Kayako turned back to the boy and smiled.
"You know, you shouldn't listen to her! After all, she's never met me, so she can't be an expert, no can she? By the way, my name is Kayako. Now that I'm here, we'll probably see alot more of each other."

Rain backed more into her corner as Kayako beat Daia up. She looked at the two, disbelief in her eyes. She... beat her.. up... she thought with shock in her mind. I.. can't believe it... Her focus was on Kayako now, staring at her with wide eyes.
In all her time at being in the Foundation, she had never seen anyone stand up to the Ageha Squad like that. Those that had tried didn't get far and came out looking terrible after the Squad was done with them. For the first time, Rain began to think that maybe there was something more to her life than what there was now. Kayako had helped her see that.

'Hmm?'
Kayako looked over her shoulder, and noticing Rain she smiled and waved. Daia had run off to somewhere, most likely to whine about it to the other members of their group.
Next to her, Aiken was staring in disbelief with the others. Smiling at him again, Kayako patted him on the head and walked over to where Rain was sitting, and leaned against the wall.
"Soo, this is where you've been hiding. Mind telling me why on earth your stuffed in the corner like a pair of socks?"
It was a stupid way of making conversation, but with Daia so peeved at her, Kayako figured she'd stick around to make sure she didn't come back to take out her frustration on Rain and the others.

Rain slowly looked up at Kayako. Nothing to explain why she was "acting like a pair of socks" could come to mind, so she just remained silent. She was still in disbelief that someone had actually beaten up an Ageha kid. It was still a shock to her. "How..." she finally began to muster something. "How... how did you do that?" Boy, that was a pretty stupid question.

Kayako blinked and stared, cocking her head to the side slightly and smiling down at the confused Rain.
"Well, it really isn't that hard! I mean, if you just show a little force once and awhile, there's not much they can do to you. People like that...they're actually the weakest people around, but they hate that, so they try to make you think your pathetic. I'll bet they know something about you that they don't want you to find out, and that's why they treat all of you like that."
She slouched a little, crossing her arms and relaxing. The others in the room had finally stopped staring, and most of them had formed groups and were whispering excitedly.

Rain gazed at her in amazement. "Really?" she asked. "But.. when I did try... they all ganged up on me... That's why I just took it in after awhile..." Rain looked away and stared at her feet. "I don't think there is anything special about me. All I can do is just play the guitar. I don't even know how that happened..."

Kayako just laughed.
"Oh, trust me, these lab rats wouldn't have you here if there was nothing special about you....and as for being outnumbered...Well, there's more than one person in here, isn't there?? Don't you think that everyone else hates them too? The only problem is, they don't know how to stand up for themselves! If you all did that, those brats would never stand a chance!"

Rain thought about both views she put out. They both made sense to her, but she just couldn't think what the reason for the first one would be. She also managed to make up a fault for the second. "But they're stronger than us," she said. She was certain Kayako would be able to put that view down, as well.
