Hmm...he agreed...he guessed...
"Well, you're going to have to pack lighter, if what you say is true, carrying you for about an entire day could get tiring with you and a load of supplies."
The thought of carrying Sierra for a straight day wasn't very appealing. Not that the Elf was heavy but surely, the awkwardness of handling someone plus weight, plus awkwardness of her supplies and plus that weight. It could add up within half a day.
Kain wasn't a fan of sweat...

She laughed, only a little indignantly. Glancing around to make sure nobody else would be sneaking a peek, she crawls out of her blanket caccoon for a moment and stands up. Turning around to face away from them, she unties the trench and lets it fall halfway down her arms, baring her back as she uses one hand to pull her hair aside.
What she revealed was an intricate tattoo of four black wings done in a tribal design. He would most likely recognize them as a demon's mark of power. Only high ranking demons could place a seal on their physical self and summon them forth as a tangable manifestation of flesh at will. Fewer still warranted wings... let alone four of them.
The sight of the winged seal, would also likely jog his mind back to the battle last night, hadn't Ra'kar called forth those very feathered appendages?

"Neoooo, really? I thought-....only---...Nevermind."
Apparently those wings weren't limited to Ra'Kar. Whatever, this elf...demon...thing...was full of surprises. In anycase, their travel problems would be soon taken care of.
"I guess, we can be on our way...although, I suggest you find some new clothes, Sierra."

She simply glances over her shoulder and sticks out her tongue as she reties the coat andicking up her plate. She finishes off the last of the honey cakes, then whisks the fruit off upstairs with her, as she scurries out of the room.
In her room she takes stock of what she has with her. The saddle bags contained two more changes of clothes, a more eastern style of dress/pants set and another basic gown. One extra cloak, and a few small coin purses were also stored here, as well as a small pouch of herbs and healing salves, a water skin, flask and dried rations. Mostly jerk and candied fruits. Her elven mail was folded neatly in the bottom of the pouch with her clothes. She was going to need new boots... fot now the leather slippers she had packed would have to do. She gets dressed, donning the shirt that seemed more like a really short dress than anything, and the harem-ish pants undreneath it. A belt with tiny gold discs that jangled almost musically compleats the ensamble as she pulls the cloak into place. She looked like she'd just walked in out of the desert, or from some sultan's dream. Granted she was covered, but the style of clothing was exotic enough that it suggested things without letting anything be seen.
She slings the packs over her arm and heads back downstairs, finishing the fruit on her plate as she goes.

He gulped down the last of his brew, the meal could wait until he got back. Kain then went to his room about 5 mins after Sierra had. All that he really needed from there would be his socks, shoes, shirt, and cloak.
He jumped up the stairs, scoured his room for his affects and put them on. The boots, actually, were the last of his items. Fully clothed again, Kain immediately headed back downstairs to start on HIS honeycakes.
Yum!

As Kain returns, the barkeep was just laying out lunch. Sierra was eyeing the meat suspiciously... something told her not to eat it.
"Sorry... what kind of meat did you say this was? And what exactly did you say happened to the horses corpses again?"
Apparently she'd gone out to check on the mess while he'd been upstairs... the smell of strange meat cooking on top of the missing horseflesh was making her want to puke... they wouldn't of... would they? gonk

Kain scarffed down his 'breakfast' just before lunch was about to start, he was still hungry from the nights excitement.
"Smells delicious, eh? Even though I just ate, I can't wait for lunch!"

The barkeep managed a weak grin and a shrug, Sierra claps a hand to her mouth and glares at Kain as she heads for the door.
"I'm going to go look for horses... enjoy what's left of ours."
With a shudder she turns on her heel and heads outside, taking a deep breath of fresh air in, she feeling only a -little- nauseous

"Suit yourself"
Bon appetite. The meat was a little greasy, more than a little tough, but it sure did hit the spot. Kain licked his lips and stretched, ready for the long day's journey.
In left the tavern in search of Sierra, he didn't imagine that she had gotten too far.

Never assume an elf hasn't gotten very far... she was damned nimble this one. In the time it had taken Kain to eat, she was already a click out towards the edge of the village and querying about horses. So far it was looking pretty grim, everyone's horses thus far had been slain and many of the village oxen too.
"Drat it all..."
She pulls a stick of seasoned beef jerky out of her pack and gnaws on it in annoyance. It was looking more and more like they were going to be flying after all...

Outside, the sun assaulted Kain's eyes, it's bright rays irritating his skin...some things are hard to shake and his damnation by the gods were not so easily broken by simple rebirth.
He shadowed his eyes with a hand, he looked in the distance and looked for Sierra's energy signature...it was faint...
"Damnit...well, she better get back soon..."
He wasn't entirely sure how long she'd be but...it had to be enough time to get a drink in.

Within the hour she'd checked ever farm in the area... every horse, as she'd suspected had fallen prey to the pack. This was one of those times she hated being right... Dissapointed but not really surprised, she heads back to the inn. She spots Kain at the bar and plunking down beside him she orders a drink.
"Rum and coke please..."
She turns to Kain and shrugs.
"Dead, all of 'em."

"Unfortunate"
He was halfway into his 3rd brew and more than a little eager to get moving. Kain couldn't remember the last time he used his wings for travel, he supposed he could just use the Contiuum but...he had no idea where the Guild was or what it looked so that idea was put paid to...
Meh, he could use some exercise.
"Well, once you're finished that, I think we should get going"

She'd slammed the drink back before he finished the sentance and she sat there grinning at him mischeviously.
"Righty-ho then.. shall we?"
She places enough coin on the counter for their drinks, food and rooms and with a smile of thanks toward the barkeep, heads back outside.

Kain, downed the rest of his drink and left a silver coin on the bar. He fixed his shirt for comfort and rotated his neck. He turned from his seat and set out the front door.
"Already there"
