Hector uses an Axe. Axes have TERRIBLE accuracy. I hardly ever use them. Hector does end up being an excellent unit if you use him right. If he's going up against anyone with a sword, though...Yeah. Watch out for that. Unless it's a Lancereaver. Then he'll be fine. Lance wielders cower in fear when Hector's in town.
...Ike still winz.

Terrible accuracy? Axes only have 5 hit lower than their lance counterparts in exchange for 1 higher mt. Not to mention they're cheaper. How is that terrible, unless you're implying that lances have only slightly less terrible accuracy. Plus, lances appear to be the most common weapon type on enemies anyway. And Hector's skill growth is higher than that of Raven, Erk, or Matthew for a comparison.
Having the skill to wield axes = making great use of them.
Hector = great.

@ Fire Dragon: Of course he is! That's why Hector's title is a "Great Lord", you know! Not to mention I leveled him to 20 quite easily in HNM, like... at least 10 chapters before he gets his promotion item. The guy's a killing machine!
There's not enough other Lords for me to talk about... razz

I just hate axes. Bottom line, that is where I stand. But I still love Hector.

FE7 -- Hector FE8 -- Ephraim FE9 -- Ike FE10 -- Ike
All together:
Ephraim is taken out by Hector. FE9 Ike is defeated by FE10 Ike. FE10 Ike and Hector are left to battle. If placed down to FE7 caps, FE10 Ike and Hector have a close match, but FE10 Ike wins just for the Gary Stu-ish growths.
FE10 Ike wins, but barely. I still like Hector better when including personality and such.

The only reason Ike would win is because he uses swords and can access skills like Aether. Hector, even as a Great Lord using a sword, would lose because he is less skilled with a sword, does not have a legendary sword, and has no skills.

Of course Ike would win if they were competing against each other. The games he is in have higher stats in just about every aspect, introduced skills, and gave him a 1-2 range sword.
But they don't exist in the same game. So that seems like a pretty poor measurement of who is "better". It makes no sense at all to pit an Elibe character against a Tellius one.

Which is why it won't happen. Point being: Better Lord would be Ike. And he WAS a Lord in FE9. -Shrug.- I'm just going with the topic of the thread.
