The raptor moved a little ways away, maintaining his somewhat superior stance, but at the same time making an effort to appear non-threatening. "So tell me, you guys new? Just wake up? Perhaps you should try to learn a few things about this place before making assumptions about people you just barely met."

Sabel flicked her ears in embarrassment before speaking. "Yeah...most of us are newly awakened...I'm Sabel..." She thought about the words for a moment before speaking further. "Hey, if you were surrounded by snarling beasts many times your size you'd make a few assumptions yourself I acted only in self-preservation status. Unlike the kitty cat." stare The hyena added in annoyance.

"Indeed. And mosst of uss are rather high sstrung at the moment."

Lune's reply did not exclude his own state but left it ambiguous. He visibly relaxed and lowered himself to all six's again, keeping his eyes on the raptor-man as a matter of courtesy. It's strange. I'm much more comfortable like this... For a few moments I knew what to do. Now what? He deliberately made his gaze seem glassy to prevent his feelings of doubt from being readily visible. However, he was aware that most of those around him were not exactly focusing all their attention on him, in spite of his role in the recently concluded events.

Chestnut's ears flicked nervously. The situation seemed to have calmed... but the nervy little fox-man did not want to trust appearances too redily. He looked from the hound to the self-righteous Several, he was not certain he liked her at all, unlike Copper who seemed absolutly thrilled.

He glanced around wondering what was going to happen next. His stomache suddenly reasserted it's opinion with a growl that couldhave rivled Aion's. Unable to blush in this new form Chestnuts's ears flopped and his tail fluffed a bit as he looked at the others sheepishly.

"Um... hey Copper..... what about that food?"

ooc:Slade is a SERVAL, an African wildcat

Slade looked at the enthusiastic hound girl as she listened to her introduction. It was terribly unlucky, the poor girl put into the body of a dog, well Slade was going to be nice to the Unfortunate. She greeted her solemnly with great dignity. "I am most happy to meet you, it is indeed fortuious that we now meet." She stopped and listened with some surprise and disdain to the as yet unintroduced fox-man.Another dog person. She realised then that these people were obviously unsuited to this environment, it must be so hard to catch food with only a dog's meager abilities at hand. Why, she herself had no trouble! All because she was lucky enough to be shaped as a cat.

Copper flipped her head back and forth desperately trying to listen to two people at once and not succeding well. Her ears flopped about commically and slapping her dark nose.

" Happy food to, meet this way you," she announced gamely. She dashed off in her orignal course, not at all the worse for her harrying experience. In fact she seemed not to recolect her earlier peril, except she did rather favor one leg and her dash was not quite as spritely.

Chestnut blinked completly fuddled by Copper's words. He looked at the cat-girl and gave a toothy (and he hoped) reassuring grin. Poor thing... to be cursed by being a cat. Mangy yowling things... not to mention manipulative. He was glad to be at least related to the canine family.

He started to follow Copper again when she dashed off. He hesitated however. He had the oddest urge he needed to tell Lune and Aion were he was going..... " Um.. I'm just... gonna..... I mean.... she said there was food and all," he stumbled over his words. "I'll be back!" he announced as he dashed off after the hound. " HEY Copper wait!!" he cried running to catch up.

Aion sulked in his puzzlement, mostly ignoring the others who were present. One ear twitched back at the mention of food, but he made no move to follow them. He did glance up at Sabel, "Why don't you go with them Sabel? I'm sure you are hungry too." He murmered softly, then before she could respond he stood and strode off into the denser Trees and brushes. and in a short amount of time he disapeared from sight. Apparently his strange berserker loss of control earlier had deeply shaken him.

The Raptor observed the rest of them for a time, until his impatience got the better of them, then he asked in his annoyed gravelly voice, "What exactly is your plan? How do you intend to survive in this place? What do you intend to do? Which of you do the rest of you defer to? Do you even know?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 18, 2006 6:55 am

Lune blinked once and pushed his own thoughts to the side in order to consider the raptor's question. Strange. I suppose that we looked to Thomas for leadership, but now he's gone to speak with the council. The others respect me but am I the one that they really defer to? They don't even know me... so if I'm not the one then who? His eyes narrowed slightly with concern and he grew slightly more tense. I really do not want to lead... but... while Thomas is absent there is a real power vacuum. I guess that it will be up to the others in the end...

"I believe that there iss not any one of uss that the otherss defer to and without ssuch unity it would be nearly impossssible to have a plan of any kind. I, mysself, can ssurvive for a time on the inssect population. Thiss body is clossely related to that of an inssectivore after all. Aion wass defering to Ssabel but sshe doess not defer to anyone elsse in truth. We have not had much time to learn who may be ssuited to leadersship. However, if you ssee only with an animal'ss eyess, then I would sseem to be the mosst powerful."

Slade looked around her as the ... people she had been talking to scampered away. Noticing that none were paying any attention to her, not that she wanted the attention of some of the beings here, she decided that it would be a good time for a nap. She went into the brush at the base of the tree she had recently occupied and curled up, ready to sleep. She listened with one ear to the conversations around her as she fell into a light doze, ready, as ever, to wken at the first change in sound.

"Uh huh." Sabel nodded, her stomach growling agreement. She blinked as she realized he slunk away. SHe blinked a few times, torn between the equal cries of pain from her stomach and her heart. Friendship or hunger which shall I choose? She wondered, her stomach aching. Finally she took one last glance and made her descision. I think Aion needs some time alone. She resolved dancing after the rest of the group.

OOC crying Such a shallow friend you are Sabel, abandoning him all alone...OOH A shiney!

((I'll talk to Eskevar, see if I can get him to post... sweatdrop ))

Aion wandered aimlessly through the trees, the filtered sunlight playing across the plants around him. He could remember nothing before his awakening, but he had the feeling he was not as he had been, physically or mentally. What was this instinct which blinded his mind to the sentient thinking he knew himself capable of? He was hungry, and this other side of his mind told him other ex-humans were edible... prey... He did not want to believe this, his mind recoiled from it. He walked on four legs and on two as whim took him. And eventually he found himself in a shadowy glade. the river trickled to a bare stream here. and silence pervaded through the cool air. No more than the rustle of leaves in the breeze. Here he curled, sinking deep into his own thoughts. The quiet lulling him into a half-doze.

Copper halted abruptly (causing Chestnut to slam into her). The two toppled face first into a fine springy loam. Copper grunted underneath Chestnut, who was a little stunned. Once he realized the improperness of his position the little fox-man leaped off as if he had been scalded. Copper picked herself up and shook her muzzle and huffed as she spit out some dirt. Her floppy ears slapped her in the face.

" Yeck," she commented with feeling. " Oh, yea, here is were there are lots of bugs." Without further adeiu she began snuffling through the dirt on all fours. She paused for a beat and then held up some wriggling grubs triumphantly. She offered the bloated creeping things to Elix and Chestnut. "See, there are lots and lots of bugs."

Chestnut was running along desperately trying to keep up with the over active hound. He was panting and only focused on not falling behind when he slammed into the halted Copper bowling her over. It took him a momment to realize he was laying on top of Copper, his tail frizzled out (if he had been human his face would have rivaled the color of a fire engine).

" I-I- beg your pardon," he stammered, but Copper was not paying attention. The hound was no energetically searching the loamy soil, shadowed by a stand of impressive trees and covered with a layer of leaves. Copper was only a few momments in her search before she presented him and Elix with a handful fo squirming, white grubs. Chestnut's stomache did a flip-flop and he turned away covering his mouth. He glanced back at her eager face... he couldn't dissapoint her.
