*looks up* Theo?? How did you find me?

Someone at the cathouse pointed me in this direction. Please, don't ask, i don't know how i keep ending up there.

Nicholai Maxwell
*stands up* Well, I guess I can't hide it any longer. *gestures to the large, ostrich-like humanoid golem.* This is Legeus, the ultimate mobile golem, and this, *gestures to the head protruding from her pack* is Ilse, my first golem and companion. *she smiled* Well, I guess, since you are an alchemist, you should be able to grasp their existence. Golems haven't existed for hundreds, maybe thousands of years, and few people can control them, let alone make them.

He nodded and waved to both golems.

Hello Legeus, hello Ilse.

He nodded again.

Yeah, i can understand them. In fact these are the first two i've ever actually seen.

Nicholai Maxwell
*sighs* The real reason I left my house was...my father and I were working on an ultra-powerful golem, Ygrist. Unfortunately, he rejected the magic core, and would not come to life, and my father was so distraught after the failure, I decided he shouldn't have to worry about me at home. But, at least there aren't any secrets about me between us. Anything you haven't told me? *looks expectantly*

Oh my. I'm sorry to hear that, truly.

He walked over to her and gave her a slight hug.

Ummm..... I can shoot a crossbow? I don't think I have any secrets.

He shrugged.

I apologize if that disappoints you any. But honestly, maybe he needs you. After a loss such as that, i'd think he'd really need someone to care for him and talk to him.

Well, Dad will be fine. And, on these golems, I make them quite often. If I had a lot of time, I could even make one for you. I hope to integrate them slowly, because you can't be sure how society will react to humanoid creatures such as them. Anyway, Legeus doesn't speak, but Ilse does. Say Hello, Ilse. *the golem said, glumly* Hello, Theo.*Ippi laughed* Ilse isn't very talkative.

I don't think I'm the golem keeping type. I'm more into making things and strengthening things. Like my crossbow for instance. But the offer is appreciated.

He waved again to Ilse, and chuckled.

Hello Ilse.

Not talkative? Well, that's no problem really.

Theo smiled and looked around at everyone.

So, what would you guys like to do now?

*Shrugs* I don't know. Legeus is going to stay here and wait for me, no matter what. So, it is up to you. I have no path, only choices. But, I am kind of worried about the imp. He was so glum.

She moved to the kitchen, her bearing regal "Please serve Lord De Mournay and his guest a light repast in his study, Also make something up for me, I will be joining them shortly" moving past them towards the stair case. Once out of sight of the servants, she broke into a dead run towards her room, having her maid clean her up and help her into a simple dress, thankfully she was tiny enough, she didn't require corsets or any other horrendous devices.

Within moments she was presentable once more and headed down into the kitchen to make sure the servants gotten something satisfactory for them. Everything was ready and she directed the servants to bring the food to the study while she herself quietly followed behind them. She looked nothing like she had before, she had her wimple covering her hair and the simple dress was just that simple, yet the material and her own behavior made it almost regal as she wore it, the soft cascading golden locks falling around her shoulder as she walked.

((they won't get there till after at least one more post from both Silfer and Anastazi))

"You were asking my name" he said slowly, holding the hilt of his katana roughly. "Slifer" he said slowly "Slifer Ozura" he then smiled slightly. "There is much about me and my past, so if you wish to dwell into it i suggest you clear up your schedule. With that he then looked around the room.

"Would you mind if i take off my coat, or is there somewhere for it? It is rather dirty as you can see. I don't get much of a chance to wash it. Although, that may change soon. I, i believe i may have found some "associates" of mine that i have been looking for, for a very long time"

He smiled, one could tell he intended to kill these "associates". He then looked deep into Anastazi's eyes. "I believe you also were interested in my sword" he said smiling

Ah, yes. Mammon.

His face twisted in dislike for the imp.

I think if he wanted any company, he wouldn'tve scratched you. I don't really think he plays well with others.

He shrugged and looked around.

Let's just wander, maybe we'll find something interesting to do.

"That will be all for today Helen, thank you."

The words rolled off of Alexander's tounge without much thought as the maid sat a cup of tea before him. The gray haired man was too occupied in his own thoughts. How long ago had that carriage left containing his people? Two days? Three? In truth the man was unsure, the first sign that age was getting to him. Each second had been like a year though. Each person was important and had the chance of never returning. Then again if they did not return, he would not live very long. Oh how his thoughts had spiraled over that singular option that they could all die. It was a waste of thought though. The girl had received enough training and Adrian could handle the details. The man was undeniably more intelligent in these things then Alexander. If any could pull the entire operation off, it would be him. But even more so he missed Elisabeth. His wife had been sent along with Adrian at the start of the operation, though Alexander was not so sure about her taking part now. She had been of so much aid to his mentality, yet now she was gone. This left him with an empty manor where only he and servants dwelled. Why had he not gone along? It was a simple question, he could not. Too well known to be connected, far too well known. That did not aid him any though.

Then there was the other two that had been sent along. The girl they had taken weeks to train being the most important member of the operation. She had taken a good deal of convincing and a good deal of work to get on their side. The tactics used were less then favorable, telling a young child her mother would die if she did not cooperate. Still, it had been successful. Even more so because the mother had been silenced as well through him telling her that her daughter would die. It reminded him too much of his own children, but that was something he could not let get in the way. They had been able to teach the girl the Eastern tounge quite well. Niklas, the mercenary that Alexander had hired not so long ago. From what had been shown so far he was not the type of youth that Alex trusted. No, not at all. Yet there had been no other option over with the rest of his people gone on about their own.

Two of his older members had been sent to the East to check into a rumor, a personal rumor concerning Alexander's past. Yet neither had returned just yet, not that he expected them too. If they had indeed found the man Alexander heard of they would never return. It was a great loss but in truth the elderly man was more concerned he would never know of the mage Eric Devon. Then again, it was no longer that great of a concern. Time and Elisabeth had helped to kill off some of the old anger for a man that was likely just as elderly as he. Though deep inside Alexander wished a horrible life upon the man. Still, these thoughts were little more then a distraction. What was he to do now that the closest people in existance to him were gone?

It was actually a question easily answered. With a flourish he would stand, his long black cape trailing to the ground with his movements. It had been folded over the steel armor that covered him from head to toe, but it was now straight with only a hint of tiny creases. Not that the look mattered anymore, it was little more then a relic from older days. The armor was still a great form of protection that a man paranoid by years would love. And Alexander did love his armor. Though his gauntlet covered hand rubbed his battle-axe almost lovingly as he scratched his chin with the available hand. How long had he been trapped inside of his home, rotting away without sunlight? Too long, much too long. It was time to get out. Even as the man strode around the desk located within his office he would swipe the cup of tea and down it. No reason to let it waste, Helen was already concerned as it was with his health. Often she would remind him of just how old he was, how much care he needed, how he should rest. All of these would be ignored though.

It seemed she had not given up on these thoughts yet either. As Alex exited the room she dashed inside to check on his tea. He smiled to himself, a warm look, at knowing she would be sastified. He had been forgetting her herbal tea as of late in his worry. Then again, the notion of fresh-air had revitalized him somewhat. Steping out of the doors of his mansion into the yard did even more so. The feeling of the sun on his skin, on his armor, it was wonderful after being cooped up for so long. His first thought was to travel towards the small stable to the right of his home. First to get a horse, then to travel the city. That was his goal.

"Hello, Slifer. Yes, you may remove your coat. One of my guards will hang it for you. As for your sword, I admit to being interested, but I am more interested in you. You say you were trying to feed yourself, yet there are many easier ways you could have done that. What's your real situation?"

Anastazi's eyes stayed on Slifer's face, unblinking. It was clear he really wanted to know.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 09, 2004 7:30 pm

"If you really want to know" he said taking his coat off and placing his katana up against his chair. He smiled, anyone who took it without permission would get burnt. Anyway, back to what he wanted to know about. Slifer crossed his legs in a diplomatic manner and spoke.

"I am tracking the killers of my family so i may avenge them. I can't get a job, if i do that i will loose time and might never find them. After that, i don't know what." he smiled at him "Actually, i was thinking about becoming under your service" he said calmly. "I noticed your sister has no personal guard anymore. I would like to offer my services. I can figfht any guard you have to prove myself."

At the door to the study, Serefina took the tray in herself for her brother, graceful as she had been brought up to be, hoping not to remind him about the marriage contracts their parents were hoping he would figure out for her. She had already found one letter and burned it but she didn't know how many others there would be.

She heard Silfers words and the thought that he would ever be able to be a guard for her was ridiculous as far as she was concerned. "How would you be able to best any of our guards, when you were felled by a 16 year old girl with only her hands."Speaking to herself tho no one but Stazi would be able to hear her words as she gave the tray in her hands to Anastazi. Then going over to a soft, her slippers making not a noise as she listened in on the conversation while nibbling delicately on her own cheese and wine.

"You want to be one of this household's personal guards?" Anastazi almost laughed. His sister's comment did not help, although he nodded to her in thanks. Instead, he gestured at the food. "Please, eat. Now then. I only allow soldiers of the utmost skill AND loyalty into my personal guard, as well as Serefina's. You have been here a fraction of a day, and have already attacked us once. I'm afraid you're about 10 years away form that position."

Anastazi picked up a chunk of cheese and twirled it in his fingers.

"However. I may be able to offer you a position in another department. One that would leave you with plenty of freedom to seek your mark, as it were. I should, of course, like to see an example of your so-called skill first. Would you care to accompany me to the dueling room?"

Her ears perked up at the mention of the dueling room, trying to remember if she had ordered the room cleaned up from this morning or not. It wasn't as if Stazi would be able to tell it was her blood but still it never hurt to make sure. Yes she was sure it was cleaned up. Nodding silently to herself, she waited for the Neko's answer and for them to eat.

She wanted to see her brother in action, see if he really was everything Richter claimed. Hiding a yawn behind her hand she simply waited, nibbling on some cheese hoping they would finish soon, so she could get to bed and be rested for their trip first thing in the morning.

Slifer smiled and picked up his katana "Sure" he said picking up the thing and carrying it under one arm. He stood up and stretched before walking towards the tray and wolfing down the food. His stomach felt much better afterwards. Smiling he then turned once again to Anastazi "If i defeat you, would you consider the position of personal guard?"

He did realise that attacking them may have been a mistake of the highest order. This had indeed made things worse in the long run. He could be trusted, he just needed to prove it.

*Ippi nods* Alright. Sounds great to me! You take the lead, Theo!

Well, i suppose i'll have to, won't I?

He walked with Ippi out of the house and into the street, where a smallish messenger boy was walking around.

Theodore Exian? I've got a letter for Theodore Exian!

Theodore Ex- That's me! Hey kid, that's me!

Oh really. Well, since I can't prove that, i'll just pretend you are. I've been carrying this letter looking for you... "Theodore" for a while now. So here ya go.

Ah, thanks. Here.

He handed the boy a couple gold coins, and the boy walked off happily. He looked at the letter and his eyes went wide with surprise.

I don't believe it. It's from Kyle!

He tore the letter open eagerly, but carefully as not to rip it.

Theodore,
If you're reading this letter than you obviously haven't blown yourself up with your strange experiments. I'm writing to remind you of our original agreement. I am in Kumori now, and i hope to either recieve a reply from you or to see you soon.

Sincerely,
Kyle Inoue.

Oh, of course i didn't forget Kyle. What do you take me for? Some forgetful... oh. Please don't answer that.

Ack, i'm talking to him but he isn't here.

He smacked himself in the head and looked at Ippi.

I'm wondering if you'd be up to a trip Ippi? My plans have shifted slightly, and I'm going to Kumori to visit a very old friend. I'd like it if you came along...
