Finally managing to look away from her sleeping friends, Feather saw Boryanor over by the eggs. Walking over, she sees the pair that he Impressed. A blue and a bronze, great! She smiled as she stood there watching them.

Niko pauses, staring at an egg about 8 feet away from her, the colors changing constantly in the glow-light. Margarita(pet birdy) flies off of Niko's finger, hovering in front of the egg and peering at it curiously. Uttering a sharp little whistle, Niko call's Margarita back to her hand, letting the little bird wrap her little yellow-gold claws around her index finger.

The hot sands in the Hatching Grounds were so soothing to B'loure's aching joints. He sensed Telenth relaxing beside him as they made their way around the side of the clutch to a quiet nook, just below the gallery. The dragon had a quiet conversation with Wrath, who blinked lazily at the pair, then returned her attention to the eggs. Grunting, the blue curled up, nestling himself into the sands, while his rider decided to be a bit sociable.
"Good afternoon, Wrath. Where has Ray gone?" He wasn't really expecting an answer, but Wrath crooned softly and lifted her head back to reveal her rider napping between her forelegs. Immediately understanding, B'loure headed back toward Telenth, hoping Ray's nap was a restful one. The girl had been looking so ragged lately...

Optical_Illusions Sensing someone close by, Boryanor looked over his shoulder, smiling at Feather. Seeing the direction of her gaze, he said, "Cute, aren't they? Looks like you have a couple nice ones too." "Their names are Ace, and Scout," she said, stroking each of them as she said their names. Both the little flits stirred only long enough to make themselves comfortable again, before returning to their naps. "What have you decided to call yours?" she asked.

::Myyth walksed onto the hatching sands and took a quick look around.::
Two people, and they both have flits 'mazing. I never caught more than a glance at one before I came here. I wonder how they hand them out here? Well if I don't impress a dragon maybe I could get flit before I leave or ............Ahhh, this is Great.
::Near the end of her thought Myyth somehow manged to trip over the end of her candidate's robe, that somehow she'd never gotten around to hemming as she should have. As she gets up as fast as she can a few thoughts passed through the back of her mind.::
Did anone see that? I really hope not....
::Myyth contined to walk over to somewhere near Wrath, she was still somewhat intimated by the huge dragon but she still walked up to the eggs, or as close as was permitted.::

Ahh, that's soothing. The soft noise was pitched just right, a soft relaxing tone that resonated through Ray's bones ...
Though it was starting to set her teeth on edge... Or rather, her teeth were sore. Sore? they were rattling! Wake up! It's time!
"Time!" Ray scrambled out of the comfortable sandnest she'd been resting in, between Wrath's forelegs, shaking bits of grit out of her hair and clothes. "Are you sure?"
She didn't really need to ask, Wrath's deep humming confirmed it.
"Time! Time! There is no time! Where are the Candidates? We don't have enough! Call to the other Weyrs!" Ray dashed out of the hatching grounds while the hum that vibrated in her skull was picked up around the Weyr as the other dragons sensed the impending Hatching. Surely there were some weyrkids that were close enough to the age of candidacy? She would grab every person she could!
Somehow, she had thought the Hatching would never happen, and that she had time to find people to stand on the grounds and be chosen... well, that was obviously incorrect!

As she stood there awaiting Boryanor to answer her question, Feather become aware of a subtle sound. Looking, she realized that Ivy had finally woken up, and was now landing on her shoulder. "It took you long enough. You've missed a lot!" Ivy hummed in response, waking up the drowsing bronze and brown. Looking up with whirling eyes, they also began humming. "Hey, what's up?" She noticed that the trio was watching the eggs nearby. Suddenly, she was very glad that she still had on the white Candidate robe she'd worn at Fort...

Niko looks up as she senses a quiet rumbling. Quickly looking around, she hears the faint humming coming from a flit on another candidate's shoulder. Does that mean...? Yes, the egg's are hatching!! She giggles softly and excitedly, looking around quickly at the eggs nearby, looking for shaking or a small cracking sound. I just hope I Impress this time.... she silently prays.

Will you please calm down and get back here? We will have enough candidates. You're not doing any good running around like your head is on fire! Wrath sounds peeved.
At Wrath's irritated tone, Ray stops mid-panicked-run, skidding a bit on the stone floors, and dashes back to the Hatching Grounds. The dragon's reassurance wasn't helping much though, Ray was still worried.

Kya settles Nimakio on his shoulder, offering the irritating beast a morsel of food that he couldn't possibly fit into his mouth at once. It should hopefully distract the blue flit from attacking Kya's convenient ear...
Something catches his ear. Footsteps. Perplexed, Kya watches Ray run past, then run back toward the hatching grounds. Is that a hum? Yes, and it's slowly getting stronger. Walking carefully to avoid jostling Nim, K'makin hurries to find Nakoreth and get him harnessed up. He'd promised to pick up the Mastersmith and one of his assistants during the Fort hatching feast, and right now they still had time to get some gather clothes on and find good seats...

Teal burst from between just above the hatching sands close to the middle. He glided leisurely around the sands watching the grounds intentively to see who was in the stands on the sands or just running about. He saw them all. Taking a quick sweep over the stands not many people were there as he flew over landing just on the edge of the sands just behind the stands where soon people would fill the seats. As he settled himself Teal sent images of the sands back to Nevaeh and then to Javareth who he was quiet fond of.

after Arizath had dispelled of the left over ash in his stomach he began to hum his eyes swirling intentley
"the hatching! thinkyou're ready to fly?"
the bronze replied by lowering his neck for his rider T'thia clambered aboard and the great bronze launched off heading towards the hatching sands.

Arizath landed. once T'thia had gotten off he took his rightful place with the other dragons humming to the hatching as T'thia found a spot near the front a prime place to view the hatching.

::Myyth was standing near Wrath in a state of shock. The dragon was humming and Ray had just run off like a mad thing in search of the other candidates. She dusted off her robe and looked around for the other candidates. Only a few stood with her on the sands Her mind whirling Myyth stood trying to be calm and to wait for the eggs::
Are there enough canddiates? Do I have a better chance of Immpressing? Whew..... lucky I was just standing here. I've never seen Ray move so fast.......
::Shaking her head Myyth tried to clear her thoughts. Focusing on the smaller eggs she watched them carefully.::
I like those eggs.......especialy that one. I wonder why. I didn't really have a preferance untill now. Did I stand near those more?
::With a slight shrug Myyth gave up on clearing her mind, seeing it was mostly hopeless. Instead she tried to think about the eggs and that she would very much like to impress.::

As he was about to answer Feather, a green flit showed up, landing on the girl's shoulder. Humming. Watching the eggs. His face went pale. It was time? To confirm it, Marvel and Rascal woke up and started humming as well.
Where was his robe? He raced across the Sands, reaching the entrance before he remembered that he already had his white robe on. He felt like such a fool as he ran back, stopping near the few other Candidates that were present. In his excitement, he didn't notice that he was once again standing nervously before the one egg that had caught his attention before.
