The bossy and headstrong little girl-cub flops her forepaws down against the earth again, and stalks over to Mizaku and the kill. She's glaring, quite admirably. She gives him a rather filthy little look. "You just wait a second, there's plenty for you, too, you can have some of my share. S'just plain nasty taking something from someone without a reason, only adults an' hyenas are supposed to do that. We're more civilized than that, y'know." Her gaze just dares him to argue; it's clear that she's ready for any fight thrown her way. She reluctantly lowers her gaze from him, back towards the cheetah cub, and she calls out, "S'okay, you can come back now."

The wary cheetah flicked her head towards the leopard. "And the tree-cat, he won't attack?" She asked, unintentionally blocking Mizaku from the conversation, which no doubt would annoy him more, ifonly she had thought. "The rest of the kill is yours. I am sorry to invade your territory." All the time she was creeping closer to the sought-after shade where the other cubs were, her darkish fur not reflecting the sunlight much. She nodded submissively once more to the silver lion. "I thank you for your concessions, my lady pride-cat," she said. It was strange, was it not, that the tree-cat submitted to the pride-cat so easily? But she had saved the cheetah's life, and Laio felt bound by honour, an uneasy feeling, to stay close.

Mizaku blinked his eyes a few times as he stared at Ciyari. Was she really talking to him? He growled under his breath and gave a rather shameful yet angry glare to the dirt beneath him. He wasn't after the kill he was after the cheetah herself. He felt weaker now that Ciyari was on the cheetah's side. His eyes moved up swiftly too look at the tiny piece of meat. There was no way that would fill him...not even for an hour. Especially since Ciyari was taking some as well.
"...it's not the kill I'm after..." Mizaku threatened, glaring over at Laio and tilting his head towards her as a sign. He lowered his head in anger and his claws pierced the dirt under his paws. He looked back at Ciyari and waited to see what she said, even though he already knew.

"You can't eat a cheetah. It's tough meat, and anyways, it ain't nice to eat somethin' that could be chewing on your dead carcass someday," She frowns at Mizaku, tail twitching. "You should show more respect, Mizaku. Else you'll become as silly as those hyenas back there." She turns her back on him completely, heading over towards Laio and the remainder of the kill, dipping her head graciously to the cheetah cub. "Thanks. Your debt is filled, please feel free to use the lands as you wish." Well, short of taking them over, but Ciyari figures that one's a given. The kill does disappoint her a lot...but it's one more mouthful before she has to go find something larger, so she isn't complaining. Damn, but she's hungry.

Laio blinked. Free.. to wander these lands? The land was under drought, certainly, but this area still supported preybeasts. But she might get into trouble with the pride-cat's family. If she knew her name... that might give her a bit of protection. With a sideways glare at the tree-cat, the skinny cheetah struck a pose. "This humble cheetah Laio is in your debt. But I have a proposal, to you, and the tree-cat too, if he so wishes." She glanced sideways at the brooding leopard eying her hungrily. She coughed nervously. "We are all hungry. You, pride-cat, have family to retrieve meat. I do not. Tree-cats never do. My proposal is thus.... the three of us together could surely retrieve a better preybeast than I found this morning." She gestured with one black-tipped paw towards the little blood-stains that marked the dirt where the kill had been, her white tail-end twitching nervously.

Mizaku narrowed his eyes, glaring at Ciyari as if she had betrayed him or something. He growled, swinging his tail low to the ground and letting it flick dust into the air. He gitted his teeth and his ears cocked to hear the cheetah. Hunt...with her? he had just tried to EAT her....and now she wanted him to hunt with them? Mizaku grunted, pushing some dust up as he clawed the ground. He was so hungry...there was a weak cheetah right in front of him...but Ciyari would probably attack him if he went after Laio again.
"...that's stupid...just like you...I wouldn't hunt with a fast-cat," Mizaku growled, his tone seeming very disgusted. He glared back at Ciyari, still feeling like he had been stabbed in the back. He was acting pretty selfish and plain nasty, but it didn't occur to him.

((I don't plan on leaving Mistweaver until I get the ok from Dagi. So... The hyenas are still here. =P))
Meanwhile, Banzai had lead Mafa to the edge of the territory, having found a nice carcass of... some dead animal. He thought it tasted like Zebra, but it had two horns sticking out of the top of its head, so that cancelled that out. It was a bit too decayed to tell. Still, it had made a nice break point for the two hyenas.
The adult hyena found it appropriate to give the pup a comedy lesson with a stuffed face. "So... Y' say y' don' know an'thin' 'unny? I cab teach 'oo easly" He swallowed before going on. "Hey, it'll be easier than teaching a lion how to prowl! Hahaha, get it? You can hear them from a mile away with the noise they make! Woohaha! See, it's because lions... stink... and... they... prowl..." Getting no reaction from the small pup, he moved on.
"Ok, so you don't like disses... Ooh! How about slapstick! That stuff is easy to teach! We can go back and practice on those wet-nosed cubs before we find your folks!"

"Suit yourself, tree-cat," She snorts, using the term deliberately. "If it hadn't gotten through that thick brain of yers, you'd realize that huntin' in a pride would make more sense'n huntin' alone. Laio 'ere has a good idea," She says, glancing back towards the cheetah cub. "So you can stop bein' all high-an'-mighty," She continues, obviously forgetting her attitude earlier or just not classifying it as such, "...or you can go back to your tree an' sulk for awhile. It's really up to you, but we don't need you." Although she sure hopes she can learn something from Laio without looking stupid...as she doesn't know the first thing about hunting. She can't let on that she doesn't, though. Ignoring Mizaku, she turns to the cheetah cub, tail flicking. "I'm Ciyari, princess of the RiverStar pride." At least she remembers her 'imaginary' pride's name correctly...things might turn sour if she didn't. "I'd be pleased t'hunt with you, Laio fast-cat," She says, with all due haughtiness.

Laio dipped her head, brain running in circles, trying to remember the few hunts she had watched her mother on. "I thank you, Ciyari, for your kindnesses. I am glad to hunt with you." Her coalition leader would never had thought of something so crass as hunting with another of feline-kind; but this cheetah cub was hungry and desperate, her agile mind seeking anything she could get. And apart from anything else, friendship with this pride-cat princess could well be her ticket to a few weeks in this richer territory, and protection from the others. Her fierce loyalty to her own kind was a little ashamed though of the thought that perhaps they might become real friends.

Mizaku's eyes seemed to pierce the two females as he stared at them in anger and frustration. He bared his teeth and then turned around, stepping away form the other cubs. A dark grin rose on his speckled face and he looked over his shoulder at them. "Oh don't worry...I'll be hunting alright..." he hissed, a suspicious glare aimed at the felines. He gave a snake-like hissing laugh and then jumped into the tall grass again. His body blended perfectly with the waving grass, and he crouched as he crawled out of view.

Huh. Her opinion of tree-cats has sunk to an all-time low. First the two females, and now this...! She heard the threat in there, so she'll be ready for anything he might try. Her tail gives an annoyed flick. She merely looks down her long aristocratic nose at him as he departs, not speaking, as if he wasn't worth the attention.
"Stupid tree-cat," Ciyari says, giving her head a shake as she pulls her gaze back to Laio. "I hope those hyenas eat him." The gray female looks optimistically at the cheetah cub, ears twitching. "So, let's go?"

It was hopeless... The voices' had proubly left thier spot now! That meant he was going to be lost in this place until he found someone who could lead him out..::

Laio pulled herself together, knowing that it was nowthat she had to earn the pride-cat's respect. "Right. Let's go..." She started forward, then stopped suddenly, a crestfallen expression flickering across her spotted face before being replaced by a carefree one. "But first things, we got to rest. It's too hot to hunt right now, and I'm still tired, and if we go looking and then rest, the preybeasts will know that we are there." She tried to sound confident and turned to find some comfortable shade to lie in. After turning back from where the leopard had disappeared so precipitiously, she padded over to the right, hoping that Ciyari would follow her lead.

Mizaku moved into the bushes again, hopping through and standing in front of the tree he'd spent most of his time on. He heard things coming form this area so went ot check it out. Upon noticing Hodari his ears flatten beside his head and he crouched down, ready to pounce. "Great...not another dirty, back-stabbing pride cat..." he muttered under his breath. Mizaku glared at Hodari angrily, signaling him with a loud hiss. He steps a bit closer, giving another threatening growl. "You better beat it, pride-cat before I make you my next meal!" Mizaku said, swiping at Hadori's face.

::Hodari staggered backwards upon seeing the swipe towards his face, eyes growing a tad wide with fear. Oh dear.. The last thing he needed was to have a fight with someone..::His voice seemed to have fallen into the back of his throat at the sight of the other. He couldn't speak.. how grand!::Hodari tried to say that he didn't want to fight but all that came out was a frightened little squeak, inwhich resembled that of a cowardly mouse in a way.::
