Jamie turned on her heel and headed after Tracey and Nicolas, following closely behind. She listened as Nicolas asked the name of the Captain and nodded, pushing the name into her memory for later use. She turned her head to then view the Dementia as they made their way past the ship and towards the slightly smaller one docked off shore. She rose a brow for a moment, though smiled as she caught up and began to walk alongside Nicolas.
Glancing up at him momentarily, she simply just looked. There was no reason, she had nothing to say, she was thinking nothing of the ship, nor their old one. Jamie was simply content with where she was at this moment in time. And she was even more grateful that she was standing next to this Elf.
Tracey then egan to wade into the water and Jamie snapped back into reality. The other man had mentioned one last test and she was positive that both she and Nicolas would have no trouble swimming and climbing with the long time they had been at sea. With that though Jamie followed after Tracey, slipping into the chilly water and then diving in. Her thin form swiftly made its way to the ropes that lead up to the now impressive ship from this distance.
" Come on, Nicolas! " The woman then taunted the elf whom was slightly behind her. She had pulled herself a few armslength out of the water, legs wrapped around one rope. " Gonna let a lil' gypsy like me beat ya up to the top?" Of course she was playing, yet their was always the very competative side of the woman that certainly didnt want to loose. And after flashing a wicked grin in Nicolas's direction she made her way quickly to the top.

Nicolas followed after both Jamie and Tracey, though he watched as the man went out into the water, before attempting to do the same, himself. The water was deep up until the rope and the elf was not incredibly fond of the test the captain had laid out. With an annoyed expression, Nicolas reluctantly swam out into the water, doing his best to keep his blade above water. It would require some instant cleansing once aboard the ship to ensure it did not rust. When Tracey answered his question, the elf noticed he did so with a first name. Certainly that was not what the captain went by. With a shrug, the man grabbed ahold of the rope and began to follow his gypsy upwards.
Though Nicolas had been slightly lost in his own thoughts of the ship, he could not help but catch onto the taunts coming from Jamie Gallows a few feet above him on the rope. Grinning broadly, the man began to climb up higher, inching up on the woman as best he could. Calling back to her, the man continued to grin, "I certainly could not allow you t' get away with that!" And no sooner had he spoken, the nimble man managed to creep up below her and reach a cold hand up into her skirt. With an awful laughter, the two toppled onto the deck, slightly hidden by the hustle and bustle of busy working deckhands. Certainly this would not be an impressive way to enter aboard their new ship.
Quickly gathering himself and standing onto his feet, Nicolas offered a hand to aid the woman to her own standing. They would both need to personally speak with the captain if they wished to keep their current ranks.

Alexis response was both surprising and expected. As the man released a short breath, he came to realise that no amount of compliments could earn his way to the woman's heart. He only hoped that she would learn to enjoy, or at least tolerate his company. Looking off towards Tia, the man wished to order the femme dragon-kin to begin work, though he was not certain this was the beginning she would desire. Pointing in another direction, towards the cabins, he spoke, "You may go one level below to choose the cabin you would like for yourself. Once you have chosen, you may join us once again and discuss what may be best for you to do. We hope to take to seas in not such a long time."
It took every ounce of the man to ignore the woman's last statement. Glancing back to Elizabeth, Tia, Marey and the others, the man hoped he would not encounter as much stubborness from them. As Elizabeth had noticed, McCallahan was quickly worrying about the amount of women aboard his ship. On the island, he had recruited an even amount of both men and women, though it seemed the men were taking a much longer time getting organised.
Excusing himself from Alexis, to allow her to choose a cabin for herself, the man approached the busying pirates and looked out towards Mariko. By the looks of things, it appeared the woman had certainly done an excellant job on the cannons. With a grin, the man offered a kind chuckle before he spoke, "I can only assume that you have done an amazing job with the cannons..." He paused and thought carefully, and then spoke, "I do not believe I was informed of your name?"

The smile did quite a bit to put Marey at ease, and when she spoke up, she was surprised to find her voice calm and collected, as she had been taught to speak. If there was one thing she could not rid herself of from living with her family, it was the speech, and perhaps even the way she carried herself. It was a little disappointing, to say the least, after all the hard work she had put in to defy her father's wishes, but perhaps it was not all such a terrible thing to have at least a little something from her past. Other than the beads, of course, which now she fiddled with a little. "Well, I guess it would have to depend on a definition of skills," She said with a smile. "But I can fight well enough, perhaps something to do with that may help?"

Avelop picked up the mop and started wiping his designated area, he hummed his favourite tunes while eavsedropping on the other crew members, he imagined himself being a captain, then quickly burst back to reality when he realized he could only navigatre well, he wouldn't know how to lead a crew. He quickly mopped his part of the deck before he started to climb the rigging with his mop, when he got to the top, he wondered how to get the bucket up?
After spending a while thinking, Although sometime was spent watching a funny looking bird try to fly, he came up with a crude idea, he looked around and found some rope, he tied it to the crows nest and shouted down for someone to tie the other side of the rope to the bucket, when no-one replied he climbed down and did it himself.

Tia watched the captain out of the corner of her eye. Tia sighed abit but then turned her attention back to Marey. "Hmm well sounds to me like your a deck hand." Tia tapped her chin for a moment getting abit lost as to what was left above deck to do. "Help clean up the soot that was left on the deck from the cannons getting cleaned." she pointed where there was rags an water. "Im sorry its not much, but if you will excuse me." Tia gave another smile before making her wave over to the captain. Tia waited for a moment before speaking. "Captain, sir when you have a moment I have a question." Tia kept a strait face as another pain shot through her hand the only clues were she cleched her cut handa dn her eyes lips droped abit. The blood had seeped through the bandages but she was trying to ignore it the best she could she wanted to prove that she could work through things like that and was not some weak woman. She had been through worse and this was not about to bring her down. Tia heard Avelop ask for help and she started to go and help him , but he climbed down before she could. "I could have helped you Avelop!" Tia said with a frown before turning back to the Captain.

Noticing when he was called, he shouted ''Sorry, it was windy and I couldn't hear very well. I thought I might aswell do it myself.'' He tied the bucket to the rope, then started the long climb back up. About half way, he noticed a hole in the rigging, probably from a cannonball, he used some spare rope he kept with him to patch it up, but no problem was caused.
Once at the top, he used the mop and looked around to see any obvious places to start, he decided top downwards would work, and started there, once the crowsnest was clean. He lowered the bucket and mop, and set about checking the sails.
After a quick check, he came down to report, ''Nothing is wrong with the rigging, rope was hanging in front of the sail preventing top speed, but those were just moved to behind the sails.'' After he finished his report, he asked ''Is there anything else?''

Tracey was slower to get to the decks, and was having a tough time with climbing. His body was just not used to the strain. In fact, he slipped and fell right back into the water, luckily not making much of a sound. Shaking his head. He looked to the ropes again and pulled out his determination. Slowly, he was able to pull himself up and on to the deck. Now seeing the two's antics getting up there, he wasn't so sure what he would see once he was there.
His arms and hands hurt badly, but he didn't give the pain any time, not a word of complaint or shaking the painful limbs out. Looking around the deck, he could she the captain, and turned from him quickly, observing what was going on. The deck had gotten very lively since he left it. Alexis being there put him on high alert, had the captain ticked her off and she just hadn't gotten a chance to take it out on him?
Seeing Tia did him a lot of good. It helped him find his voice, his respectful one that he was putting on for everyone else, not the captain. "Two new recruits, Captain."

Marey nodded without hesitation, her gaze following Tia's indication to the rags and buckets of water. "No worries," She said with a smile. "I thrive on the trivial and unimportant." With the slightest of chuckles, she gave a quick yet respectful nod of her head, then turned toward the rags and the water. She wouldn't have trouble finding the soot and the cannons, she was sure. She knew little about sea vessels, but she knew enough about the layouts from what she had seen in her father's study in her earlier years.
Picking up on of the buckets and tossing a rag into the water, she made her way for the cannons. She set about determinedly with her rag. If being stubborn and headstrong was more a fault than it was a good quality, she had plenty of faults. She wasn't about to be bested by something so insignificant as soot. Despite the fact that all her years of trying to be as much like a boy as she could, she had never thought to take on the jobs of cleaning around the house. Not that she would have succeeded, had she tried to clean. But it was all okay, because as she soon found out, soot was not the hardest of things to clean, and she had soon rid the deck of it.
Marey dunked the rag back into the water, and straightened up. She returned the bucket to its original perch, looking about her and taking the brief moment to loosen her back muscles. Tia had seemed to know what she was talking about. If being a deckhand was the start of her way to becoming a good fighter, she would put up with whatever was sent her way. That much she knew.

Glancing around, and seeing everyone else asking Tia for jobs to do to help prepare the ship, Caden walked slowly towards her, eager to help but not wanting to appear too eager. Upon reaching her, he wondered what to say and eventually decided on, "Uhm, I need something to help with..." And pausing slightly, he continued softly, "I can fight with a sword but I don't think that's applicable to anything that needs doing on the ship, so... I'll do whatever." And then considering on whether or not to add anything else to what he could help out with, he decided to remain silent and wait for his orders, whatever they might be.

Alexis chuckled softly at Aiden, perhaps he wasn't half as foolish as she thought. She walked down below the deck and smiled, perhaps she'd let Aiden close to her, if he could prove he could be a gentleman around her, and treat her as if she was more than just another member of his crew. She was a Dragon-Kin just as Aiden was, he should at least try a little harder to get to know her than some human wench.
She then opened one of the doors and looked around the room. It really wasn't much compaired to rooms she heard about some people having in real houses, but it was far better than the tree she slept in every night. She threw herself onto the small bed and smiled. Perhaps she would enjoy being out on the open seas, but in some ways that would be up to how Aiden treated her.
After claiming her small part of the ship, she headed back up to the deck and walked over to Aiden, "Captain," she spoke, it was only a formality and she would rather call him Aiden, "may I have a word with you in private?"

Aiden turned from Marika for a moment to look in Tia's direction. Putting a hand to his forehead and then bringing it off, the man indicated that an idea had suddenly come to him again, "Ai, we do need to speak Tia. Your hand won't heal itself in that bandage. Shall I bring you to find the medical paste?" The man could not be sure if that was what the woman truly wished to speak of, but in any case, it needed to be said.
Spotting Tracey returning to the deck, the Captain grinned broadly and patted the deckhand on the back complimentingly. "Good t' see that you have brought another two pirates to the ship!" Glancing back, the large dragon-kin was able to see both Jamie Gallows and Nicolas Morgan making their way onto the ship. By the gesture in which they held themselves and awaited his time, the man could tell they were not new to ship life. McCallahan only hoped they would prove to be of a great help aboard his ship.
Spotting an approaching Caden, the captain lifted a hand to pause the man for a moment and then returned his gaze to Tia. "Tia, you have kept a surprising amount of order among your crew mates and because of this, you have left me incredibly impressed. I need a few higher ranked pirates aboard Aurarius and hope I may be able to have a word with you once we arrange for the healing of that hand. I can't have any seamen of mine working with wounded limbs!" The teasing idea of a higher ranked seemed to slip from the captain's mouth.
Before he could say any more, however, the man heard a delicate voice come from behind. With a surprised expression and pleased grin, the man spotted Alexis and was far too willing to accept her request. "That will be incredibly possible, Alexis." Looking between both Tia and Tracey before he left, the man questioned the group, "Now whom needs to speak with me first?"

Getting a literal pat on the back surprised him greatly. Talk about mixed signals. Blinking at the captain, he waited for his chance to talk to him. However, when he heard of the captain's concern for Tia, and that he wanted to promote her, he knew it would be unfair for her to ask her if she would leave with him. Well, he might need to think of leaving, it would take talking to the captain to make a final decision.
Not meaning to step ahead of Tia, but he needed to get this settled, one way or another before they shove off, the swim would be too much if he waited two long. "Captain," he spoke with respect, but it was more automatic then something he put any thought behind. "I would like to speak to you a moment."

Tia glanced at her hand while Aiden spoke her seriously look she normaly gave him broke to a smile which she couldnt really help it though she wanted to. In her mind this was the greatest captain ever though she had only been around one other and that captain wouldnt be hard to top. Tia started to anwser, but then the Captain brought to her attention that Tracey was back. Tia's grin became more easily seen as she was releaved he was back and unharmed. She wanted to rush to him, but she held herself back. When Aiden turned his attention to Tia once more she listened, but wasnt sure she was awake or not. Not a full day on the ship and already she had a chance to move up in ranks. Years, years!!! She had spent on her last ship with not a hint of approval of her work save from James the dragonkin whom had raised her even though he was young himself when they had met. Tia's eyes seemed to tell how excited she was by this oppurtunity, but before she could say anything Tracey spoke. Tia turned to look at him the expression of his face made Tia worry slightly. What was going on? Or what had happened while Tracey was ashore? Tia now felt abit upset with worry over Tracey she choose not to speak so that the Captain would talk to Tracey first because it seemed very important.

Penelope sooned eased, and smiled faintly. "I do know much of treating larger wounds." She remarked with a smirk. As Captain McCallahan spoke, she listened intently- anticipating his approval. Soon, she found herself flushing gently, and she backed away from Tia. To bestow such a high rank on me?! How kind! And to think that she had once cowered before him in fear! There was nothing to be afraid about in McCallahan, was there? Penelope was honored and entirely delighted to be thought of so highly from a man that once towered over her in fear. Perhaps he hates me no longer! She followed his words more, and nodded gravely as he spoke of the young woman with the consumption below decks. "I have been exposed to the consumption, sir, and I believe that I could treat the young lady without getting infected." Replied the girl, wiping her hands on her muddy skirt and then pushing a few strands of her glossy blond hair behind her.
Though she was clad in unflattering clothing, Penelope was quite a lovely girl. Her bone structure no less than perfectly curved, her skin pale and delicate. Though her pink lips pierced the serenity of her pale form, it was quite becoming. Her gorgeous sky-blue optics glistened in the sunlight, and seemed to dance as the light spread across them. Penelope was of little stature compared to the Captain; about five foot two at the most. Most people in Isla Olividada (at least those at the bar, anyway) found themselves dumbfounded to learn that sweet little Penelope Zandrasus- fair little Penelope Zandrasus- was aspiring to become a great Pirate someday! A great deal of Pirates discouraged her, showed her their scurvy and medical issues as if to try and prove to her that Pirating was not the right path for a lady. But still, Penelope pushed forward with the same amount of determination when the thought of becoming a Pirate first entered her mind.
And here she was; standing on the deck of the Aurarius with the possibility of becoming surgeon lingering in the air. Opportunity was not too far off, and Penelope looked forward to aiding the ship in any way she could. Though her mystifing looks and frail-heartedness prevented her from admirable looks from her fellow crew mates, Penelope found her new life on the Aurarius quite promising. And though she knew nothing of what lay ahead of her, just looking out into the depths of the ocean soothed her. As any Pirate, Penelope's lust for the seas was about to be discovered. Penelope could hardly wait 'till the Aurarius takes sail. Ah! I almost forgot! Cried she in her mind, scurrying over to the ropes and doing as the Captain instructed her to do. Once she was finished, her eyes wandered to McCallahan. He is a fine man, she thought. The girl raised a hand to her breast, and exhaled as she watched him talk with another lady Dragon-Kin. Was she his wife? No, surely not. The way they were innocently jesting was not a sign of a strong relationship. Perhaps they had interest in eachother, then?
Penelope thought it best not to dwell on other people's affairs and shooed the thoughts from her mind. Though she could not tear her haunting eyes from the Captain, she continued to carry on with her work. She noticed a couple step onboard after a few moments- an Elf boy and a gypsy woman. This made her smirk, and she let a melodius laughter escape her lips. It was surely something that there were so many different races aboard the ship. She half expected a merfolk to flop onboard! But no matter- though Penelope was intimidated by them, she harboured no hatred towards fellow crew mates that were non-human. They are beings too, are they not? So in them they must have a soul, a heart. Therefore they should be treated with care and love just as any other crew mate should. "Aye," Murmured Penelope to herself, still smiling. "They should be treated thusly."
