Far be it from Marks to be understandable in any way shape or form - or such was how he preferred it. In that rare moment when someone did get it, that was when...

No. Bad thoughts, stupid thoughts, nothing worth remembering.

"No reason is about the most transparent way to say 'I've got a reason I'm not gonna spill'," Marks said rather flatly - not that he necessarily believed it, just more fun to keep Samael guessing whether it was guessing on Marks or second-guessing himself.

..Yeah, he was a weird one. He revealed those eyes once more, and rolled them soon afterward..lifting his head up, facing him eye to eye.

Lifting his arms up to set against the other's shoulders, he crossed his wrists, and smirked, "Oh, so now you dont trust my word?" He questioned tauntingly, knowing he had given no reason for the demon to trust him, period. But, hey, who gave a ********.

Now he was willing himself to fight back. Half tempted to knock the demon out, and just sleep or something. He leaned forward, mindful of the sharpened honr protruding his forehead, and rested his forehead to the other's. He snickered, "Aren't you tired?"

He was pretty sure that was supposed to mean 'sleepy'. Haha. As if. "Of your roundabout yammering? You bet," Marks said, almost sweetly and pressing his forehead back against Samael's responding with pressure as opposed to laconic nonreaction.

"Loving, aren't we," he mocked him slightly, and pulled back, "Well, if I bother you that much, why stick around?" His tone wasn't bitter, not in the least. He actually didn't mind the other, despite his smart-assed attitude.

He only chuckled in response to the first - it'd become a practical rarity to run into someone who was merely amused or miffed or... whatever it was Samael was feeling - all he knew was it wasn't that actually offended s**t he'd gotten so used to. Guess someone really had to know him before they started to get mad about it. Something about 'you only hurt the ones you--'... okay, maybe it didn't work so well for him.

"Maybe I like pain," he teased, leaning back slightly as well, neck stretching and cracking first one side, then the other.

..He was different. Shaking his head a bit, he allowed his arms to slide over the other's shoulders as he leaned back, sides of his wrists resting to the demon's shoulders after a minute.

Blinking at the cracking, he smirked. Well, at least he knew that Marks didn't exactly want to leave. Though, he could just be lazy. Who knew, at this point...

"Or maybe," Marks smirked unpleasantly, eyebrows raising once more, "I'm stalling you." To bring the conversation in a boomerang sort of way back to... when he'd been happier. 'cause now, the sitting and stuff... that was neutral, and okay on some level. Interesting. But making Samael jumpy to the point of denial? Oh yeah. That was how he wanted to spend his weekends.

"Why would you be stalling me?" He questioned, and shifted once more, moving his arms down to slip over the other's torso. Resting them around his waist, he set his cheek to the male's collar with a light murr--which turned to a sigh.

"Depends on what you're hiding, don't it?" Marks shrugged slightly, not enough motion to either dislodge or acknowledge the return of intimacy. "What's up?" an addendum attached specifically to the sigh.

"Hiding? How am I hiding anything?" Wrinkling his nose, he sat up a bit, resting his chin to the other's collar...partially, enough so he could still see the man's face. He nudged the other's jaw with the bridge of his nose, though he hadn't meant to, and folded his ears back to his skull.

[] Time skip~ []

It had been a bit since the two of them had seen one another. He had finally...well, gone along with their game. And now had taken isolation...outside of town, till everything calmed down.

Well, the news was set in nearly all of the bars around town...and even on the street-corner electronics stores.

He himself, obviously, wasn't watching it...but any curious passer-by probably was.

"A body was found early this morning," the woman sitting at a lightly decorated desk--who looked more like she was excited about the story than upset, mainly since they'd get many-a viewer today.

"A biopsy is being done as we speak, and no family has declared the body as one of their own..." It trailed off into giving phone numbers, then set to putting up pictures of the scene being worked on. Dried blood splattered up against a wall and window of a back-alley apartment..."The body is a woman's...killed in the doorway of her apartment.." more trailing rambling, a slight description from one of the police officers on scene.

Supposedly the neck had been completely ripped apart--which was obvious, for a vampire who didn't want to be known, to do..to Samael that should be an obvious give away for Marks. Decapitated, innards spilled, etc etc. Just a mess, pretty much. Everything inside the apartment was still in-tact, nothing stolen, no struggle, it seemed. A strange homicide indeed.

Absently drumming fingers on the bar, Marks watched the news with an amused persuasion of absolutely-bored. He wasn't paying attention to the denizens of the bar - they wouldn't be important until later, if he chose to make a ruckus here tonight. You didn't have to know much about someone to piss 'em off. So here he was for the moment, fairly early in the night - sure he was drinking now, but he didn't usually imbibe all that much on a given evening. Inebriation hadn't made it onto the list of favorite hobbies. Adrenaline did so much more, after all. But here... in a bar... with an anonymous conglomeration of nobodies who could only drink on the edge of town... with a news report.

It seemed a little out of place, out of the ordinary or just plain surprising - looked like your typical vamp kill, but he'd barely heard of any such activity since coming here. Which meant that it was someone new, someone stupid or someone trying to get attention for any number of reasons. He wasn't really inclined to think it was Samael - he hadn't taken him that literally, had he? - but it was something somewhat interesting.

But it hadn't really grabbed his attention yet.

The demon went back to his drink, only half listening to the report and mostly pre-occupied with scanning the inhabitants of the bar behind him through the glass behind the barkeep.

Well, Samael wouldn't be too happy to find that Marks hadn't specifically noticed it was his kill. Anyway, he was wandering the forest, for the most part..half tempted to go back and see the attention given, but also slightly panicked that he might be found out. He, personally, didn't want to kill people who were out for his blood...ah, well, he'd live.

Yawning, he brought his hand up to rub at his eyes...absently heading back to town, but was wary of everything around him...he had only killed the woman last night. A strange person wandering into town might send off an alarm for some people.

It hadn't taken long. One comment on your mom there, one pickpocketed wallet there and you had yourself a good old fashioned brawl. He really hadn't counted on that guy near the door being strong enough to actually throw him out the window, but tails were great for latching onto someone and dragging them out with you. In a flurry of shattering glass and a storm of shouts the fight had spilled outside the bar - Marks was beginning to wonder why no one'd tracked him down for this yet. Surely they didn't get many serial brawlers around here, yeah? No one seemed motivated enough.

Anyway, more important things in mind - like using the bouncer as a human shield to deflect ol' judge-not-a-drunk-by-his-beer-belly who'd so skillfully managed to get them both--aw hell, was he bleeding? b***h. Marks threw a slug at the man who'd tossed them both into the street, grinning like a madman the whole way down. Now this was the high life.

...Oh, what the ********. He had just gotten back into town when he heard the struggle not too far away. He now approached, and saw a familiar form. "....Marks," he sighed, and stepped up towards them, though was far enough away that they didn't drag him into the fight.

He brought a hand up to rub his neck, feeling sick and exhausted...Lovely. He clenched his jaw, though, but knew that the demon could take care of himself. Nice...he had grown attached to the b*****d demon. "What the hell have you gotten yourself into.."
