Keme stands at the entrance to the shop, arms folded loosely as he waits for everyone to make their way to ice cream shop...well, waiting for Relm to lead the way to the shop. He was in the mood for ice cream, not sure what flavor he wanted though.
Miranda smiles sweetly at Kaleb, "It's ok Kaleb!" she says and then makes her way to the door, tail swinging about.
Naruto looks through the glass display, trying to decide what he wants. He licks his lips as he spots his favorite flavor, "I want Cookies and Cream! That's my favorite!" he says happily, his tail wagging about.

Rikku licked her own lips, stomping a stray thought of cookies & cream flavored Naruto kisses. "That's an awesome Ice cream flavor!" She agreed with a happy bounce. "I don't really have a favorite myself. 'sides I want something different tonight! Something I've never tried before!"
"Sure it is, Scholar. Now lets get to the ice cream before Blondie & Romeo eat it all." Relm grinned with a wink as she ushered the others outside. It was nice to get to be in a leadership type position after her years adventuring as the child no one heeded. "It's a bit further into town, but we should be able to make good time." Allotting the likelihood that the lovebirds stopped to lock lips along the way.

Kaleb happily let himself be ushered out of the bookstore without a word, still half preoccupied with his little puzzle, but paying enough attention to avoid running into the door on his way out.
Although one part of his mind was still trying to solve his magic problem, another part was just pleased to be out with Miranda. Her enthusiastic smile was nice to see. Unfortunatly maintaining two lines of thought at once didn't do any favours for his motor coordination, and he nearly tripped over a crack in the pavement before he gave up both and mentally swore not to think at all while he walked.

Keme walks behind Relm, hands threaded behind his neck, his bag hanging off his wrist. He starts to hum absently, his mind starting to wander just a little bit as he walks, a small smile on his face.
Miranda walks beside Kaleb, looking generally happy. She looks about at the city, thinking how pretty it is at night all lit up, but she jumps a little bit when she notices Kaleb almost trip and she reachs out and takes his hand gently, smiling reassuringly at him.
Naruto chuckles at Rikku's enthusiasim, "Well, pick whatever you like, it's my treat!" he says, looking back into the glass display, licking his lips again at the thought of having his ice cream.

Relm followed the directions Rikku had given her, finding them surprisingly simple. The city still frightened the village girl but she forced herself to show a brave front. As Keme began to hum the artist found herself smiling softly & relaxing a bit as the strangeness of the city no longer seemed to be that big of a deal somehow. Then she saw the tables Rikku had mentioned & quickened her pace the tiniest bit. "That's gotta be it!"
Inside, Rikku squeezed Naruto's hand as she finished reading the flavors. She knew she would have to tell Trel about the chocolate Raspberry & Raspberry-mango flavors when she got home. And the Kalua Cream. "That one." She said, pointing to the Kalua Cream ice cream tub in the display. "In a sugar cone."
"Should we wait til the others get here to order?"

Kaleb didn't startle this time when Miranda took his hand, but he was surprised when he immediately stumbled again. He even went so far as to look over his shoulder to see what he had tripped over, but when he couldn't find anything unusual about the pavement he reminded himself to just stop thinking.
When he spotted something that looked possibly like an icecream shop, he felt somewhat relieved to have arrived without falling on his face on his way.

Miranda squeals a little and bounces a little, tugging on Kalebs hand so they can get to the shop quickly. She smiles up at Keme when he lets them pass him by to cross the street first, already thoughts of what she wanted wandering through her head.
Naruto shrugs a little, looking out the window to see if they were coming. He smiles and lets Rikku's hand go so he can go to the window and wave to everyone. But he seems to freeze when he sees everyone get across except Keme, who is still crossing the street, and he hears tires squealing and he gasps as he sees Keme suddenly in the lights of an oncoming, swerving car.
Keme snaps out of his thoughts and his humming stops. He looks to where Relm is pointing and he smiles, glad they made it and it wasn't that far. Looking back and forth, he makes sure no cars are coming and he lets the others go on ahead of him so they can cross the street first. When he is sure everyone is at the shop, he starts crossing himself, humming softly. But he stops when he hears squealing of tires and he turns his head when he sees a car coming his way, his eyes flashing as lights get in his brown eyes and he swears he sees his life flashing before his eyes.

Seeing the change in her best friend Rikku rushes to his side only to gasp at what she sees outside & clings to the ninja's jacket fearfully.
Relm spins at the terrifying sound made by the car not even understanding what the squeals could implicate. As she takes in the sight of the errant vehicle & that Keme is still on the street she instinctively grabs her brush. What to paint? Seconds tick. The mage artist focuses her magic & channels it into her brush painting her creation between the audio & the car.
Everything seems to be in slow motion to the artist as a duplicate of the thick stone side of the building across the street forms & becomes real in the middle of the street some 2 feet deep & spanning the length of the crosswalk. She only hopes it is enough to stop the wild vehicle.

Kaleb whirled around at the sound of screeching tires, and with all his training he was able to react to the situation without giving any time for thought. He immediately cast his fastest shielding spell on Keme, and then expanded his casting to include anyone inside the car once he noted the growing stone barrier.

Keme squeezes his eyes shut, waiting for the pain of impact, but when he hears a crash, but no pain or anything hitting him, he slowly cracks his eyes open, noting a large wall in front of him with a crack going up, probably where the car hit the wall. Almost like he lost the feeling in his legs, he crumbles down to the ground, sitting down hard as he starts gulping for air.
Miranda had whirled around when she heard the squealing tires and she almost screams, covering her mouth up as her eyes go wide with fright, almost afraid she would see her sibling possibly killed that night. She lets out a sob of relief when the wall comes up and the car hits the stone instead of her brother. She lets Kalebs hand go when she sees it is safe to go to Keme and she runs to him, throwing her arms around him as she sobs, tears pouring down her face.
Naruto can feel his heart stop beating for a second when the wall goes up and the car crashes into instead of Keme and as soon as feels its safe, he rushes outside. Once he is in front of the hummingbird male, he kneels beside him, grabbing his face, "Keme, come on! You're ok now, you're alive!" he says in a wavering voice, ignoring the crowd that is starting to gather.

Relm crumples. Whether in fatigue, relief, concern or worry... or maybe the accumulation of it all. She sits on the ground, watching the siblings with wide, anxious eyes. Part of her wants to go to the others... but she finds herself unable. As if trapped in the fear she would not let herself feel in the moment of crisis.
Running out after Naruto, Rikku stops at her sister's side. "Relm, that was great! Come on!" With a gentleness belied by the Al Bhed's quick words Rikku gets her sister to her feet & nears the others.
Seeing Keme gulp for air a sharp sound of worry escapes the artist. "Come on Hummer... breathe. We still have to talk, you & I..."

Upon seeing that Keme was unhurt and pretty well cared for by the rest of the group, Kaleb quickly made his way to the car to make sure the occupants were okay. His hasty shield wouldn't have saved the taller audio from all harm, but Relm's brick wall had done that job well enough.
He approached the driver as per usual, I'm a trained healer, may I help you?, but luckily there were no injuries that needed his attention.
The mage turned back to his friends, although he could handle the physical wellbeing of a person, all that was left was the emotional aspect and he was sorely lacking in skill in that area.

Keme starts blinking a few times, his breathing slowly going back under control and the panic he had felt welling up inside him slowly dying down. He seems a little surprised when he find Miranda clinging to him, crying her eyes out and Naruto telling him to snap out of it, his body still shaking, "I-I'm....alive? I'm...ok?" he whispers in a shaky voice, still not believing it.
Miranda sniffles and nods, still too choked up to speak, just filled with relief that Keme was alright.
Naruto lets out a small, shaky laugh as he hugs Keme as well, sniffling, "Yea....yea you're ok....don't ever scare me like that again!"

Hearing even the faint sound of Keme's voice -albeit shaky- Relm lets out a sigh of heartfelt relief. "Espers... but that was a scare..." she breaths softly.
Beside her Rikku gives her sister a relieved -and very forceful- hug. "Booyah! He's okay!" The thief winked over at Kaleb. "Great job on that shield Kaleb! You two were awesome!!"

Kaleb blushed a bit from where he stood at the sidelines, having not expected Rikku's praise. At this point only the minor adjustment to his glasses would have betrayed his anxiety, and only to those who were familiar with his nervous mannerisms.
