DarklingGlory UnholyTwist Hi all! My name is Mike but, I am usually called "Twist" in real life due to the ungodly amout of "Mikes" in the area. Avoids confusion. biggrin I am a beginner on the Martial Arts path although I did train somewhat almost twenty years ago. Currently I have started Aikido and thankfully did not sign a contract because I don't think it is what I actually want. I will be checking out another school next week. I also take Kendo and just started it as well. I love it though and I hope to continue always takeing it. Welcome to the guild bud smile Thank you. *bows*

*waves* So, to get you started, feel free to just refer to me as Shiami. That's my normal moniker anyways, so I'll respond to it best. *smirks*
But on to the actual introduction:
I've been studying Northern Shaolin Kung Fu for the last four years. I'm a Brown I, which leaves me one belt and maybe two years away from my black belt. I love my style, and happen to have a great school where everyone is very friendly, and we're pretty much like family there.
I've never cross trained in another art, and I really don't want to, all that much. To be honest, I love the art more than I love fighting. I'd probably be happiest if I never had to swing a real punch ever. Sparring is fine, that's like play, but I've never been really big on violence.
I have studied Bo staff, Sabre and Double dagger weapons, and perhaps soon I might start learning spear.
I really enjoy studying about sports nutrition and the likes, and I am working on getting my degree in personal training, and after that I would like to get my martial arts conditioning specialization.
Then I can train regular people and martial artists looking to improve their techniques as well.
I think I'll leave off here. It's great to meet you all, seems like a nice guild around here!

Hello everyone *bows*. I've been interested in martial arts almost all my life, I was in Kyuki-Do classes but I ran out of ways to pay for them so I quit, I am currently a yellow belt in that art... I've been learning nunchaku recently and have almost mastered many techniques in only a month, the only things i don't know are the Katas, I know a few basic strikes, and grabs, but I only know tricks and things so if someone isn't scared off by that I'd be dead, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I've also made two bokkens, they happen to be my favorite weapon, and I know very little on how to use them, I still can't find any ways yet, and I'd appreciate any help in any of my studies, Links, book reference, or pictures, etc.
It seams I will enjoy it here, and continue to do my best. I will respect those around me, practice new skills with grace, try to finish what I start, respect my teachers, respect all living things and be there for whatever needs me. *bows then sits japanese style*

Howdy, I'm Gaiko and I have no ranks eheh sweatdrop I really like to study different weapons and stuff and recently I've been training with Nunchuks. The one weapon I'd really like to try out is the Urumi: a long, flexible, steel whip sword that's nearly 6 feet long and comes from southern india. However I've yet to find any for sale. If anyone has heard of Urumi's or has one or knows where to buy one or just likes the idea of whip swords then PM me!

Well, Technically I havn't introduced myself on this account, some may have known me before(way before) as Xanos, now I changed that account name to Dante Gabriel Mack, though still don't use it.
My martial art of choice has always been Taekwondo, and at the moment I am currently classified as a second Dan. This however is just a front to who I really am, which is a combination between UFC enthusiast, mental Choreographer of different moves for different defense's and scenario's, as well as a creative writer which has alot to do with how I plan out my moves. I've recently coached my first tournament, coaching four younger students of both age and rank, and for my knowledge three recieved golds and one a silver, but throughout the tournament the students from our Dojang Dominated their divisions. When it comes to training most will say I'm actually a slacker, and in the physical sense I am despite my above average body compared to others of the same age. But despite this I seem to be stronger in a more mental sense then most and have good instincts with decisive muscle reflex.
When it comes to mixed martial arts I can't really say how good I am, I've gain an above average knowledge of submission holds from watching UFC, and have actually been able to successfully pull them off in before class sparring matches, with those bigger or smaller then myself.(Adult training classes.) Just as I've self taught myself submission I've also self taught myself boxing, and all though I would never try to take it up as a sport I do consider myself an alright boxer and overall tremendous striker in terms of both punching and kicking, as well as knee's and elbows despite my obvious lack of use for them when it comes to striking.
Weapon wise I'm more experinced with a broom handle then mostly anything else, but I have a great passion for Batons, as when I use them they personally form to my style of striking and I use them in a very successful manor. Aside from those(which have no proper training) I have also practiced with Rapier in a fencing class, which I was the top in despite it only being a week long, as well as an archery class which happened in the same summer, and no surprise there either, I was the top student with the highest accuracy except for the teacher and the teachers assistant.
Thats all I have to say for now, though probably forgot something.

Hey I'm new here and I plan on taking Kendo once I'm out of highschool since I'll have a lot of free time to do what I really want to do. But I was kinda hoping that since there are a lot of people here that are skilled at martial arts, that someone could give me a good fighting style to start.

Well you need to see what you have around you and do some research on them. After that you should have an idea wich ones you would like and if you know what you have around you could list them here and people could vote on what they think. I like Wing Chun but there are more Wing Chun styles than most know and they are not the same.
