[Sorry! Had to post at the hospital, and do other stuff. xP]
Kai glanced back at her as she spoke, pausing for a moment as he watched her. Then he frowned. "Yes, I've already told you this is nothing. I'll heal soon enough." He attempted a soft smile he he bent down, trying to see her face. He sighed quietly as he saw her head was still bowed and gently reached out, lifting her chin slowly. "Hey, it's not your fault so please don't worry about it." He glanced back towards the direction the male had gone and shook his head as he turned to face her again. "I don't know what your relationship with that guy is, but..." He paused, not really sure what he was trying to say. "I... still like you. Sorry for getting in the way of that bas- Kage's plans, but you should be able to choose who you like and not be forced into anything, so... whatver you pick, I'll just... go along with it, I guess."

[[it's oki. My internet connection was being mean, anyway]]Skylar smiled softly, hearing him; although, she couldn't help but blush slightly. She nodded at his words, already knowing which way she wanted to lean. With Kage, though, she wasn't quite sure he'd approve. "Koichi... I remember he was almost like family, but, I don't remember much more than that; nothing much before.. you know," she trailed off, not wanting to go back to her hospital stay. For a moment, she looked away, trying to build courage to answer what he last said. "I-I like you too, Kai," she stammered, feeling herself growing slightly hotter again.

Kai nodded vaguely as he heard her saying she didn't recal much from before, but he didn't ask and further. The voice in the back of Kai's head had been shouting at him every since he said he'd go along with what she chose and it was doing away with his ability to think. What are you talking about? That will never work! She's going to pick that other guy an- It suddenly cut off as it and Kai fully took in Skylar's last words. Hmph, you got lucky, it grunted and then disappeared on its own for once. Kai was staring at Skylar almost in surprise. Then he smiled and leaned down, hugging her gently in his arms. "I'm... glad," he said softly.

Skylar was a bit shocked that he had suddenly hugged her and just stood there, blinking. After a moment, though she slowly brought up her arms before wrapping it around him. She smiled faintly, hearing what he said, Moi aussi, she thought, closing her eyes as she leaned her head against his shoulders for a few moments. "We'll just have to ignore Kage, then," she sighed, knowing he could have a big influence on people if he tried hard enough. Il est penible, she thought, before shaking off the feeling entierly.

Kai smiled as she hugged him back, a huge wave of relief washing over him. But he knew that other guy wouldn't be leaving them alone any time soon... Skylar's comment about ignoring Kage actually brought a grin to his face. "Of course," he nodded. He never wanted to speak to that man again. He wa so... irritating! Kai quickly pushed off these thoughts before he could get worked up again and just continued hugging Skylar gently. After a moment, he laughed softly. "Well, we need to get going probably," he said. "Damp clothing can cause colds, can't it?"

Skylar laughed, hearing him. "Yeah, I'm sure they do cause colds... although I doubt you'll be widely effected," she teased. By now, Skylar had taken a step back and resumed to holding his hand gently, smiling up at him. She wondered, though, if Koichi had left the island yet, or was still somewhere, hiding. Non, il a savi... je penser. she thought, realy hoping he he had left. "Well, hopefully it isn't nightfall when we get back..." she sighed, "or it'll be an even quicker way to catch a cold." She wondered, though, if all of Kai's- and her- clothing were still on the beach, or if perhaps someone had chucked them.

Kai smiled back, holding her hand as well as he turned to continue moving. "What your step," he cautioned. He was definitely in a much better mood. That guy, Koichi, had really dampened his spirits, but Skylar had just raised them right back again. He was also discovering the voice came back to bother him when he was very stressed out. He was about to promise himself he wouldn't get worked up again, but paused when he realized that would be impossible. But still, he was smiling as he moved forward, his eyes shining faintly in the darkness as he led Skylar along carefully.

Skylar continued along with him, doing as he said when he warned her. She couldn't help, though, looking up at where she knew he was. She couldn't see, from the darkness, but she could tell he was thinking about something and it made her want to know what. She shook her head lightly, knowing that it'd be rude to ask and such, so she kept her curiousity to herself. She wondered, though, what would happen to them next; after all, what about that last girl? You remind me of her.... a voice told her softly, as though mocking her, that's the whole reason.

Kai continued moving forward, blinking at the sudden brightness as he suddenly emerged from the cave. His eyes had adjusted fully to the darkness and now even the faint moonlight bothered him. He blinked several more times and then glanced around at the star strewn sky before turning back to face Skylar. "Everything alright?" he asked softly, realizing how often it was he asked that question. Weakling, the voice smirked, but Kai ignored it as he gently squeezed Skylar's hand again. He laughed softly after a second, rubbing awkwardly at the back of his head. "Um, do we have to go back the way we came? Or is there another way?" He didn't really want to risk climbing back down that tree and injuring themselves further. He did have a headache again, but was doing well to hide it.

Skylar blinked a few times before her eyes adjusted. Hearing Kai, though, she turned to look at him before laughing. "Yeah, just walk down the hill," she said, somewhat bluntly as she pointed down a slow falling hill. "Can't think of any other ways, unless you can," she smiled at him. She looked out, though, from the top where they stood and saw, faintly in the distance, the beach and school. The ocean, though, seemed to be sparkling, lighting a path back the way they had come. Oh, c'est belle! she thought, just looking at the sparkles.
[[she's like a cat, i hope you've realized this xD with the ribbons and now you see she likes shinny things XD]]

Kai followed her finger down the hill and frowned, shaking his head. "Oh." You idiot, use you're head for once! the voice laughed. Shut up! Kai demanded. He clenched his fist for a second and then released it again, keeping gentle hold of Skylar's hand with his other. "Alright then," he mumbled, still a bit embarassed. "Let's go..." His head was pounding now, and dealing with that stupid little voice did not help one bit. But he still refused to show it. He paused for a second as he noticed Skylar looking out over the ocean and a sudden idea popped into his head. "Hey..." he began, glancing at her. "Walking down it boring. Want to ride instead?" He held out his hand and a long board of ice appeared in it. "We can stand, or sit," he grinned, making it broader as he finished speaking.

Skylar looked over at him, confused at first. Seeing the board of ice, however, she started laughing softly. "Ride it is," she nodded, deciding she'd rather stand than sit. She remembered having gone surfing a few times when she was young, but could only help but wonder if it was the same on land as it was in the water. She smiled at him, wondering where he got such an idea from out of no where. I must say it's impressive, though, she thought, looking at the board with peaking interest.

Kai grinned and set it on the ground, the nose of the board just over the edge so it stuck out over the slope of the hill. He stepped carefully onto it so it wouldn't start moving too soon, keeping one foot on the firm ground. He was still holding Skylar's hand and he tugged playfully, trying to pull her over. "Alright, just stand on here," he said grinning to himself. He was excited. He hadn't done something like this in a long time. It's because you didn't used to be so pathetic! Kai was too happy right now to let the voice bother him, and simply overlooked it.

Skylar laughed as she stepped on behind him, making sure to hold onto him. "I swear, if you stop and make me go flying, there's gunna be some problems," she teased, knowing there wasn't much she could do to him. Standing next to him, though, on the board, she couldn't help but be reminded how much shorter she was than him. She pouted momentaraly before sighing, just happy to be there with him. "Kai, you know, you're very interesting at times."
