i play necrons, and my ctan got killed by my friends scouts in two turns, i and i learned not to use the nightbringer against sniper rifles, and than i went against somone who played khorne, and wiped him away with the ctan. people say its too good, but it is 360 pts. not worth it if they have sniper rifles.

has anyone else been collecting long enougth to remember the 2nd edition necrons and even less likly does anyone else actually own old style necrons. i miss the good old days. marines whos pose was as static as the grass i based them with, the carboard ork dreadnought in the 2nd edition box set, gretchin with guns bigger than themselves. that was the good old days when buggys went faster, lascannons were zappier and termie armour had 2 dice to make a 3+ save. i feel very old for my age and very sad that these new gamers arnet being taught about the past

I must agree that the C'tan is good but you have to pay a s**t load of points to get it. I've found quite a few ways around the C'tan. One you already mentioned, sniper rifles. The other two would be psycannons, the C'tan would get no save, and phase out. The C'tan's 360 points. That's 360 points of not necrons on the table which means lower numbers to get a phase out. So people can whine and cry about the C'tan being broken when they fight it all they want, they just don't know how to combat it. Sure it's scary but easy to get around if you do it right.

Psycannon is a Grey Knight weapon that ignores invulnerable saves (but not normal armor saves). Since the C'tan only has an invulnerable save, if I shoot it with a psycannon enough it'll die. It's str 6 weapon also so it'll wound on a 4+ (I think it will, don't remember the c'tan toughness).

Can shield breaker shells destroy a C'tans Invuln. save, or no. PS, will needle's of desire(Slaneesh wargear) still get their 2+ to wound in CC.
