Listen carefully, Greater demons have 4+ invulnerable saves, the Khornate greater demon has a 3 normal save and a 4+ invulnerable, normal demons have a 5+ invulnerable, khorne bloodletters have a 3 normal and 5+ invulnerable, and all mortals who buy the Daemonic aura gift have a 5+ invulnerable plus their normal armor.

Ok, thanks for clairifying. Still, though, that means that the Avatar is getting ripped off with his crapy save because it specifically says that although he is an Eldar unit, he is considered a deamon for all intents and purposes.

Greater or normal, if normal, would mean he/she/it needs to be summoned, if greater, need to have possess a model.

Quoted form the Eldar Codex:

"Daemon: To all intents and purposes, an Avatar is a Daemon and will be affected by weapons or abilities that use speacial rules against Daemons."

So he doesn't have to be summoned (or get the privlage to, however you look at it) but he gets all the downsides of being a daemon.

Face it; even with allo these downsides, he's a damn good model for 80 points.

Wow....it may sound silly, but I never thought of it that way. That does shine a new light on him now....

Glad you see it that way. I mean, how many points do the greater deamons cost? 200-300 maybe?

Still, WS9 S8 with 5 attacks for the Bloodthirster is pretty tough

Plus, I have no psykers in my chaos army, so no benefits to Demon Hunters(or witch hunters, i forgot)

Uh, Daemonhunters get no beneficial pluses against psykers. They get bonuses when fighting daemons. Which does include the avatar I might add! biggrin
