By the time Hadrian said anything, he was almost too late. Gavin was blinking to try and making the world around him stop swirling. Still, his mind could sort of process the advice, so he tried to put himself back in the normal position.

Bending himself backward, he threw himself forward to gain enough momentum to put himself right side up. Unfortunately, that only succeeded in making him start somersaulting repeatedly in mid-air. Now he was just getting more dizzy. Nauseous even.

"Make--it--stop!" Gavin cried through spins, though his voice sounded slightly warped. It was at this moment that Gavin decided he did not want to be an astronaut when he grew up. This whole zero gravity thing was making him sick.

Haki watched. It actually looked pretty fun! Reaching out, she moved under she was close enough to hold him by the legs. Maybe she could stop him? Of course, she didn't consider that maybe while she would slow him down, she might be pulled along as well.

"Hadrian fun." she said, almost to herself as she nodded her head, trying ot straight the boy or at least stop him. But his feathers were in the way, and her aim for his hands wasn't very accurate either.

((XD someone else decide if she succeeds?))

Wondering if this may be more trouble then it was worth, Hadrian stepped forward and helped Haki slow down, and then stop, the spinning Gavin. Then he helped flip the boy back rightside up, shaking his head all the while.

Glancing at Haki, he noted her words with amusement. Well, that was new; he didn't think she had thought that about him before.

"How about you two stay right side up now, hm?"

Thankfully Hadrian fixed Gavin's spinning problem, however he was still very dizzy. He swayed a bit, watching the world right itself. His stomach was making strange noises, and he had a dry feeling in the back of his throat.

"Hay-dren very fun," he slurred, still blinking while waiting for the world to stop moving. He burped a little, "I no feel...good--"

Apparently the mix of being upside-down and then spinning in all directions had upset his stomach quite a bit. He lost whatever little was in his stomach all over Hadrian's pristeen glass coffee table.

Haki stared. Some part of her was disgusted by this, and another part of her found it ridiculously funny. Look, they had been having so much fun that he had gotten sick! Not used to throwing up, she tried to remember what Marc did whenever she got sick... and couldn't pin point it.

"Gavin okay?" she asked, concerned as she patted one of his wings. Uh oh. What if he got sick and then his mom said that he couldn't come over and play again?

That would be very, very bad.

So she looked at Hadrian, the man who needed to fix everything, and nodded her head. Hadrian would know what to do.

Ugh.

He was not ever doing this again.

"Haki, take Gavin to the bathroom, please."

It would be better to just clean it up normally. But he wasn't in the mood to deal with that, so he took a little 'shortcut'. It was taught that whenever possible, they shouldn't do this - but right now, with his hangover, he didn't want to deal with it.

So while the toddlers went to the bathroom, he took care of the mess with a few elaborate gestures.

Gavin burped again as he felt himself lowered to the ground. Still not feeling too well, he reached over and held onto Haki to keep his balance. He followed her to the bathroom, wobbling as he walked. Luckily, his position from being suspended in the air only got the yucky stuff on his face and not his clothes.

His stomach felt extremely empty now, and was calling for him to eat something to replace what he lost. Maybe they could talk Hadrian into making them breakfast.

When they reached the bathroom, he gave Haki a confused look.

"What I do in here?"

It better not be bathtime again...

Haki stared, shrugging. How was she supposed to know? "I don't know." she said, looking around. "Shower?" she suggested. Maybe he wanted Gavin to stand under it and get wet, or something. So she walked over and pulled down one of the big towels and handed it to him, motioning her own mouth. "Gavin need clean." she said, earnestly.

And what they were supposed to do about his breath... she stared up at the sink. Maybe he needed to brush his teeth? "Hadrian strange." she confided, nodding.

What did the mage expect them to do in here?

After taking care of the mess, Hadrian stepped into the bathroom - oh, Haki had gotten a towel...good. And at least Gavin had only gotten it on his face.

Turning on the sink, he reached down for the towel. Then he turned to Gavin, and began cleaning the boys face.

"I think we've had enough floating for the afternoon..."

After finishing, he grabbed the glass on the sink and filled it with water before handing it to Gavin.

"Swish it around, then spit it out as many times as you need to, to get rid of the taste. - Spit in the sink."

Gavin scrunched his face as Hadrian wiped his face of the yucky stuff. Not a bad scrunching, considering he didn't like the smell. He just didn't like having his face wiped in general, considering that's what his Mommy did when she made him bathe.

Gavin gladly took the cup of water and swished it in his mouth. He bent over the sink and spit it out. Well, at least the taste was gone from his mouth. He smiled at Hadrian.

"Thank you Hay-dren." Mommy always told him to say 'thank you' when people did nice things for him.

He still hadn't gotten a grasp of saying the mage's name like Haki, but it was close enough.

Haki nodded her head. "Thank you." she repeated, beaming. She held onto the mage's leg out of habit-- and also to make sure that if any of Gavin's feathers fell out again, she would be riiight there to catch it.

Feeling, rather infectiously as if they were all in the middle of a sneaky plan (because surely the fact that Hadrian had made Gavin sick meant they were all in this together) Haki nodded.

"Hay-dren hero too!" she said, beaming.

They were all her heros.

Hero, eh..?

Well, he could live with that.

"Alright, you two...why don't we go up to Marc's, see if we can dig out some food?"

Not that it would be that hard, up there. Easier then finding food down at his place...and at least up there the two toddlers wouldn't dare jump off of furniture. Or, well...they might, but he didn't think it would be pretty.

Marc? That was Haki's daddy. So they were going to go up to Haki's room. Gavin clapped. This would be fun!

"Food!" he patted his stomach, indicating that he was hungry. Not having breakfast and then throwing up left absolutely nothing in his belly. As far as he was concerned, there had better be a lot of food up there, or else he'd turn on the waterworks.

For a moment, memories of last night flooded into his head and he looked at Haki. Didn't they break something of her daddy's? Oh yeah, that large vase-thingy. He blinked at Haki, giving her a toddler look that asked, Is it safe?
PostPosted: Wed Jul 26, 2006 9:47 pm

Haki's mind seemed to go through the same mechanics. Delight that they would be going up to see her father, realization that it might not be the best time and worry, that he might get angry.

But she WAS hungry, and more or less confident that she could bring him around, eventually. And besides. If she had Hadrian and Gavin there, maybe he wouldn't yell as loudly.

"'kay" she said, nodding her head. She looked at Gavin, giggling. There was something exciting about returning to the scene of the crime...

"Alright, then...'

So Hadrian led the two toddlers out of the room, and then began up towards Marc's apartment. He didn't even consider that Marc may not want two toddler rolling around his apartment - after all, one of them was his daughter. And surely Marc was wondering where she was by now...

It seemed like Haki was making a habit of sneaking out at night. Briefly, he pondered what that would mean for her teenage years - and how Marc would react when she began sneaking out as a teenager. Protective father now, hmm?

As they reached it, he gave one rap on the door to announce their presence before entering.
