((

Is the horse still on fire? Is it still prancing around like a maniac while you all are playng out your little drama? If it is, it would've been pretty damn certain that the oil would've gone up in flames. Or was the horse somehow intelligent enough to put the fire out? I was skimming through a lot of the posting, so I may have missed it, but......
))

(( *Ahem*

The horse had smothered it's flaming side on the street- the horses fire is out. The oil is spreading out in a pool in the street. It's safe, unless it's ignited (obviously), but there's no danger of that happening on accident.

No, the horse did not have some flash of brilliance. More like a flash of animal instinct, the "stop drop and roll" because there's some sort of element clinging to your, burning away at your flesh. I'd imagine it's either still writhing, or jumped back up and run off. This all happened in a span of a couple seconds, so the exact where and when of the horse hasn't been specified since it smothered the flames.

And it's not "You all" or "you guys". It's me. I started the whole thing because, well, everyone was doing basically nothing. Sey was shopping. Woo. It's not like it was some major WoG event or anything- so relax. It was something to do. We'll say what you did with the horse is legit. After it stood back up, you bound it, and now it's slowly calming down.

Whew. sweatdrop ))

Lao wasn't surprised at the shadow bind- he had seen it used before. He was still working on the barrels and swearing as he looked at how they were stoppered. Who the hell would secure something this dangerous in this manner? He simply continued to right those kegs that had spilt, though his strength was slowly leaving him with each one he righted.

He saw the man who seemed to own the cart and called to him in clear, unclouded western. "A little help here, sir?"

Kadoria continued sitting there after Ollie left not sure what to do really. The ale was bitterer than usual, she sat there bored out of her mind after she had eaten, she needed to go and perform to get enough money for a proper performance gear but she just didn't have the gumption to do so. She was so furious with that pompus 'princeling' she doubted she would even be able to play unless something interesting happened.

She simply paid for her food and began to walk out the door, when a loud brute of a man came in and pushed her out of the way, for the fourth time today she was getting rather upset with it "watch where you're going......But she didn't get much further than that before her she was picked up by her shirt and lifted off the ground, leaving her legs to dangle helplessly off the ground while her hands scratched at his hand trying to get him to release her.

"Looks like we have a scrapper boys....not even old enough to shave and carrying a lute.....maybe we should send him to the brothel, put some hair on his chest. making everyone in the Tavern laugh out loud "so boy, you know how to play that thing?" Leaving Kadoria sputtering in rage, so angry she couldn't even see straight.

((Being pissed doesn't help me to think or write very clearly. And not posting while I'm pissed requires me to be thinking clearly enough to realize its a bad idea to post in such a condition. I missed the part about the horse smothering the flames...like I said, or forgot to say, I skimmed over the posts. All I saw was everyone paying attention to Icarus while we still had a large cart horse thrashing around.

And it is 'you guys.' All of you are equally guilty of forgetting that other people standing nearby might have a reaction to what you were doing. I don't care that you made an event happen, I care that I didn't get a chance to participate in it. I know it wasn't anything major, but at a time when nothing else is happening, as you said, it is something to do, an opportunity to run into other characters in a memorable way and maybe have a bit of character development. It is now something that I did not get to do, and I'm still annoyed about it, though I'm calmer now than I was last night.

I know that I'm being a b***h and I have no right to. This has happened to me before, and I hated it then. I still hate it now, especially since it seems like the same people tend to be involved whenever this sort of thing happens. ....it wasn't really necessary for me to say that, but....well, I guess I have to let it out sometime.))

((Understood.

*Pats*

And I've been there, been left behind, and been dissapointed about it, too. Ah, the old days in Barton Forest. Which is where I got my "just deal with it" idea from. sweatdrop

Everyone was constantly left behind, namely me, in that RP. The general, accepted idea was that we'd improvise why our character missed what they did. *Shrug*

((Cripes... now I have to go back and edit.))

(( *Looks at the edit.* ...er... babe? Both parts were kind of out of date, if I'm remembering right, you fixed up the Kouji's commentary, though the other part just doesn't seem to fit as to why Alcyone would try and snatch Sey away from Hikaru... xp

"Watch yourself, grubby peasant," Hikaru snapped at Kado as he grabbed the frail looking 'boy' by the wrist and pulled him back into the crowd; reaching ahead even as he did so and sweeping up Seyumi in his arms to pull her back, away from the fire and the two street-vermin that had caused the whole incident.

"Seyumi-chan!" he shouted, almost into her ear as he pulled her away, making sure that she could hear him over the din of the crowd, "Stay away from it, Seyumi-chan, it's not safe."

"Demo-!" She wriggeled against her brother's iron grip and looked helplessly at the boy who was still on the ground, frightened out of his wits.

"Put me down! Let me help him! Let me help - Aniweh!" Frustrated, afraid and angry, Sey screamed the honorific and unconciously called a group of light spirits into being, her fear attracting a small drove. Clinging to the young mage that summoned them and loosening Hikaru's grip enough for her to wriggle free, Sey collapsed onto the ground and stood up; staring with shock widened eyes at the spirits that clung to her brother, making him almost unbearable to stare at.

"Spirits - I'm so sorry Oni-sama - I -" She hadn't wanted that to happen! Her mother was right - she had utterly no control over the spirits... She needed to sit through those droaning lectures... The dissapointment and failure engulfed her in one fell swoop and Sey choked back a sudden sob and tried to call back the spirits but they clung to Hikaru like leeches - unhearing of their mistresses call.

"Tasukete..." She whimpered, staring around at the crowd. She hadn't noticed the Kunoichi there in her hysteria and Sey shut her eyes, her hands clenched into fists at her stomach. She couldn't let Alcyone see her like this - as a failure. As pathetic as an initiate. As incompetant as a child...

"STOP IT!"

Flaring brightly and dissapearing little white bursts of light, each of the small spirits let go and disspated into the air as Sey fell to her knees, sobbing into her hands.

"Gomen ne... Gomen... Gomen!"

Alcyone's face remained passive for a moment but then her brows knitted and Alcyone leaned over. Clutching her parasol in her right hand, she scooped up Seyumi with her left arm. She righted the child, encouraging her to stand up on her own two feet. The Kunoichi leaned over and whispered into her ear.

"Hurry now my Lady, now is not the time for you to feel sorry for yourself," her voice spoke in her slightly accented but brisk Eastern tongue," We will discuss this later."

((I waste no time in getting nyman involved.))

Nyman had seen the whole incident from his parking spot. He didn't have any sympathy for anybody who mistreated a young boy so. Then tried to blame his lack of driving skills on the child he had nearly plowed over...

The boy being in favor with the spirits didn't help much at all. Fire it seemed, Nyman was good with fire. He made a living out of using fire, using it to entertain and sometimes to kill.

He left his cart alone. Business was done for the day and the thieves had already filled their pockets in the commotion seconds ago. He was making a confident march towards the accident.

"You know there are quite a few merchants upset with you." Nyman was standing near the growing puddle of oil, "You've scared away most of their business. On top of that you've destroyed your own business by using the wrong barrels for your chosen merchandise. I suppose you're one of those people who thought they could make a quick bit of gold on oil."

"Perhaps you should do more research," Nyman made sure his distaste was known, "And don't blame others for your mistakes."

The merchant would have said something in his defense buy Nyman made one last point.

"You should leave quickly before your luck takes another turn for the worse. And you..." He turned to the injured boy, "Give me you hand, here’s no longer a safe place." He made a passing jesture to the tendrils of darkness restraining the horse. Magic was enough to make he weary, but he had seen enough of it not to be shocked. When it wasn't being used on him at least.

His own hand reached out in aid, and his ears tuned out anything else the merchant had to say.

Lao was glad that someone had enough sense to talk the man out of his idiocy. In any case, most of the barrels were back in place, though most of it was gone. He simply gave the man a frozen, cold glare, then hopped off the cart and smiled at the man who seemed to have the most sense of anyone he had met so far.

He would've liked his name, but he had business to attend to. He made his way past Alcyone- "Excuse me," and jogged toward the meeting place without another word.

Icarus was busy staring in the direction of the young girl who'd tugged on the arm of a man. He'd seen what she'd done, and he wanted desperately for her to fix his agonizing shoulder. With that mentioned, I should also note the adrenaline running though him had thinned, and the massive amounts of pain his dislocated shoulder was causing him quickly brought him to tears.

He stared up at the man reaching for him. He could feel Nyman's kindness. Yet... Icarus did not want to move. The pain was too great, it rooted him to the ground. He clenched the shoulder, as if he would a stomach ache, then yelped in pain and took his hand away. Then what came out of his mouth undoubtedly would surprise Nyman.

It came out as a whine, more than a complaint, "My shoulder hurts like a b***h, Mr.!" gonk crying

It's what happens when you work around grown men for as long as you can remember.

Himmley stood shocked, it had all h appened to fast he had no time to react. Or atleast he thought he didn't, everyone else seemed to react right away, Why didn't he? He was just talking with boy about to ask him why he would need to be around a forge when it happened. Why didn't he react sooner step in. Wasn't he suppose to be helpful, like all the other people who were helping out.

Himmley got very angry with himself almost to the point he wanted to cry out in frustartaion but he held back. He put on a face a calm as if nothing ever mattered and nothing everwould. It was a face he learned from his father when he tried to teach him how to be an assassin. He had given up after a while Himmley wasn't sure why.

Himmley snapped back into reality when he heard the man talking to Icarus. Memories of his father when he had larned of Himmley exceptional throwing skills came to mind. Tedios training and lots of pain, he was glad he was the son of his teacher or he bet it would have been worse. Thsi boy didn't need that or atleast he didn't thenk he did he seemed to have gone through enough as it is.

Himmley decided this was his time to stand up and do something right. He messed up before by not helping the boy when the man attacked him, he wasn't about to make the same mistake twice. "Hey you, you leave my friend alone. He needs to go to the light temple to be treated and not going off with some stranger." He moved beside Icarus and rested a hand on the hilt of his fathers blade, giving the man a cold look. He learned that face from his father too, but his father had always complained about how he couldn't pull it off until he spilt the blood of another. He wasn't to sure about it but never really cared, he only faught if he needed to and thats the only time he beleived that anyone should. He turned to look to Iracus keeping an eye on the man "Unless you wan't to go with him Icarus."

*Yuri sat in an inn in Laburnum's western side, writing poetry. The moon shone down on his parchment, illuminating it with a spectral light. The words were not flowing for him tonight, so he instead knelt by the windowside, staring at the sky, dreaming of what his future might be. The breeze through his window rustled his hair, and he gave a slight simper. Maybe he would be better off away from his home, journeying the world. As cliché as he knew it was, seeing the world was as great of an experience as he could hope for so far. He traveled a long time to reach Laburnum, and the sights, scents, feelings, emotions, everything had been so wonderful. He then took a backward glance at his blank parchment, and he realized that it didn't matter whether the poetry was ever written. That was not his focus in life. He stood up slowly and closed his window, then began to undress for bed. He discarded his over clothing, and slipped into the cozy little bed. He then got a feeling something interesting would happen in Laburnum, and he would start looking for it tomorrow.*
