Terraaaaance, Evith whined piteously, the dragon's voice exasperated. Stop sighing over your food and just eat it. We got things to do.
Terrance looked up from the filled plate she had been admiring appreciatively moments before. "Oh, be quiet, you," she answered. "I need breakfast too. You don't want your rider to die of starvation, do you?" She eyed Evith, raising an eyebrow. "After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day." She wagged her finger at her dragon, then turned her full attention to her plate again and began tucking in with enthusiasm.
The impatient gold dragon grumbled in her throat, irritably flicking her wings and mumbling something about 'silly humans named Terrance', but she settled down beside her rider, resting her chin on the table and watching the blonde girl eat.
After all, Terrance added to Evith in the mind speech that they used to communicate with only each other, We had a rather stressful morning, didn't we? Weren't those bronzes intimidating?
Evith snorted proudly, tossing her head and rolling her eyes-- a distinct human expression she had already picked up from Terrance. They don't scare me. They're beneath us. But Terrance knew that they had intimidated Evith as well.

Markhus and Serath walked into the kitchens. Serath had a better view of everything that was going into the kitchens because he was much taller than Markhus. Serath noticed the glint of golden scales. He looked down at Markhus.
Markhus! Serath yelled into Markhus's mind playfully.
Markhus looked up at the dragon with mock anger. Was that necessary? What is so important that you had to give me such a headache? Markhus asked as they walked.
It's just one of the golden dragons. It is important to introduce yourself, Markhus. Serath said. It reminded Markhus of one of his old scholars telling him of courtesy and manners.
Yes, Wise One. Markhus said, sarcastically. He walked over to the person who was nearest to the golden dragon. He guessed that the person would be the dragon's partner. "Hello." Markhus said to the girl.

Terrance had just taken a large bite of her breakfast when Markhus had entered the kitchens. Her eyes widened at his greeting and she hurriedly chewed and swallowed, with great difficulty. She then began to cough, and she quickly grabbed her cup and drank deeply. The gold dragon snorted at her rider. Smooth move, Terrance, Evith taunted, chortling.
Terrance only had time to throw her cheeky dragon a glare, then turned and looked up at Markhus again, setting her cup down on the table. She smiled pleasantly. "Hello there," she said, deciding to abandon formalities. She was only a young rider, after all. She wanted to be genuine, not stuffy and stiff. The blonde girl offered Markhus her hand to shake. "I'm Terrance, and this is Evith," she informed him, gesturing towards her queen. "Evith only hatched yesterday, so we're both new here... what's your name?" she asked.

((I'm here Rivi. For the sake, I'll be the one that impressed that intimidating bronze one. Just so we can get things rolling and thriving.))
arrow Somewhere near going towards the kitchen.
Asha glanced at her bronze dragon. And he at her at the same time. Till the dragon broke the silence between them. "I am Asteroth." Asha replied, through the mindlink, it didn't startle her at all, well maybe a little. That the winged lizard had intelligence enough to make speech. "I am Asha." The little dragon snorted at her. "I am no mere lizard, I am a dragon. Far superior then those wingless beasts. And you, you are not human, if not half. And you smell like, like . . hmm, I'm just born recently, but you don't smell like the others here." She smirked lightly at him. "Yes, I am half human. I'm a mermaid. We are few in numbers though. Humans hunt for our flesh, thinking they would gain immortality. Such rubbish." "Ah, an immortal, then we will have a nice good long life together. What's a mermaid?" If she could have made a face, she would have. But instead she laughed. "I'll show you when we are near water. But for now, I'm hungry. I had a hard time just trying to get up here. I do not like being far up, but the moisture up here is quite pleasant, so I will tolerate this uncomfortable living standards." "Hmm, I think you and I will get along very well." "You mean we both have the same mind frame." "You are looking at the future leader. I am allowed to be proud." "What ever you say Asteroth. I'm hungry."

arrow Heading for the kitchen
As one would do when one is hungry, you follow your nose. And that is exactly what Asha did. She followed the scent of human food. "Hmm not bad. Wonder if they have fish?" "What's fish? Is it good?" "I think it is, but anything meaty would do good either way." "Yes, meat is good. Good for dragons. I eat, I grow, and soon I'll be the next leader!" "High dreams for one so short." "I will catch up in no time! Just you wait!" "To proud, but I guess that is a good thing. I do not like being with someone weak minded." Finally reaching the kitchen. Staring at food coming out this hole in the wall was an amazing thing to see. Never in her life had she seen anything like that. "Is this magic?" "No, I would notice it. It's a human device that uses something called pulleys and ropes." "I have much to learn." "We have all the time in the world. Once I become leader, you have no worries of being left alone, nor will no human harm you. I will not allow no human touching my rider!" Absently mindly she ended up scracthing behind his eyeslids that sent him in a purring fit. "Like that don't you?" "Yes, yes, right there, right there. Only you are allowed to do that. I'll bite any others. *purrs*" "Are you flirting?" "You are mines and I am yours. It was how it was meant to be, and so it shall." "We are one. . . " "Always."

It was then that she noticed she wasn't the only one here. From what she had gathered so far. These people were just impressed earlier before she and Asteroth. It was strange, being so close with humans again and in such large amounts in a close space no less. "There's nothing to fear, you have me to protect you." "I'd like to know what you can do to protect me." "I have very sharp teeths." "Hm, true." Copying what others were doing. Taking the tray out of the hole in the wall and looking for a place to sit down. And the only one left was with a girl and a golden colored dragon. "Golds are always females, as bronze is always males." "The queen to be?" If dragons could smirk, she could have felt him smirking in the back of her mind. "That's right." Raising her eyebrow as the tough growing between them. "Keep that kind of thoughts to yourself." The bronze dragon only nuzzled to her side. Sighing, "You are one strange creature you know that?" "But you love me none the less." Humming to herself as she thought. "Oddly, you are right in that suggestion. I do not think, I will like sharing you." She got a deep purr out of him for that.

arrow En Route To the Kitchens "Mmm...I wonder why are we going to the Kitchen I'm not even close to famished I h-" Clothar said telepathically to his Companion upon his back.
"-You have eaten just 2 days ago those two deers should sate your hunger for a long time." Tom said finishing off his companion. "While I have not eaten since yesterday's breakfast. I'm afraid my brutish friend that my stomach does not work as great as yours."
arrow Kitchen "Hold on Tight!" Clothar growled with glee as he went into a steep dive, his warning was not neccesary as Tom already knew before the words came out. When they were one there was nothing could hide from each other.
Clothar landed with a thud as flame shot out of his nostrils, "Show off..." Tom grumbled as he leapted gracefully off the Dragon. The two companions stood outside the den known as the kitchens. From the noises inside it clearly had a small group of people inside or just one very messy dragon.
"Well...I Guess we should be going..." Tom sighed as he stepped in with his companion following.

Examining the grilled fish and some kind of broth in a bowl Asha began to eat. Feeding some small meat pieces to Asteroth. "I think I'll wait for the more beefy meals. Fish does not suit me at all." "Picky eater. Suite yourself then." Taking his meals and eatting it. It wasn't that bad. Grilled fish vs. raw. Fish is fish to her. Her eyes were scanning around at the other people here. Some with dragons, some without, or prob. just not with them at the moment. Wondering what she has gotten herself into, she was here for the companionship she craved. Now she's told by the dragon she had rights to become a Weyrleader? Lead what? Her? These humans? She still had distrust with them, she doubted she can lead them. For now. She'll just observe and learn what she's supposed to now that she had impressed a bronze dragon.

Having made introductions with Markhus, Terrance was just about to lift a fork laden with more food to her mouth when she noticed the bronze hatchling in the Kitchens. She eyed the dragon with interest, then looked up his rider. She paused, then set her utensil down, glancing over at her own dragon.
Evith's eyes had also been inspecting the bronze, but she looked up at Terrance when she felt her rider's gaze land on her. The gold dragon's eyes were whirling a contented blue, but a tiny streak of new color was added in: a light violet. It was light enough that anyone besides Terrance wouldn't notice it. The blonde rider wasn't sure what it meant, but she an idea.
Interested in that bronze, eh Evith? Terrance asked her dragon silently, her mind voice infused with slight amusement.
Evith rolled her eyes. Hush, you were looking too. Interesting, isn't it, that a female Impressed a male bronze?
Stranger things have happened, Terrance told her dragon, shrugging her shoulders. Then she allowed her gaze to roam the rest of the Kitchen. To her surprise, more dragons and riders had entered while she had been focusing her attention on her breakfast. She fixed her face into a wide smile and composed herself, attempting to look friendly.

Asha noticed she was being stared at, by the human woman. " ? ? ?" Did she see though her disguise? Can't be, no one can tell she's a mermaid. And she didn't think the dragons wouldn't tell what she was, till she was ready. She would like to keep that a secret as long as possible. Till she had some faith in humans. "Is this seat open?"

She seemed to be staring off at something. Oh well. She just took the liberty and took the seat across from her. And began eatting instead of picking at it while standing. Scratching behind Asteroths eyelids. Just enjoying the deep delightful purr that he emits. Chuckling, sounded like a flirtful purr to her. "Flirt." "That is because I know I am gorgeous enough to be flirtatious. And I will flaunt it as I wish." "Hmm." Smirking at his confidence. Well, he does have a certain glowy sheen to his young bronze colored scales. "Been preening yourself eh?" "Never know when a lady will need some wooing." "Aren't you young?" "Age and love had no boundings. I am a male, and that is that." Raising an eyebrow at him, shaking her head. "It is scary how much alike we are. To proud."

"Oh, no! Go ahead and sit do--" Terrance began, but Asha sat down anyway. She shrugged slightly at Evith, then looked across the table at the rider and her bronze, pausing only a fraction of a second before offering her hand to shake. "Terrance," she offered.
Evith's snout poked over the top of the table from where she was sitting on the floor beside Terrance. And I'm Evith, the gold dragon informed Asha and Asteroth.
Terrance's brow wrinkled slightly as she took in the rider and her bronze. "I didn't see you at the Hatching yesterday... are you from another Weyr? she asked, puzzled.

Asha looked to the hand "? ? ?" Must be some form of greeting. So she tooked it and they shooked hands. "I'm Asha, the flirt here is Asteroth." "Hello m'ladies. Pleasure meeting you at last my future queen. He was flirting, and he didn't minded at all. He feared nothing, there wasn't any when your mind is linked with another who had no fear as well. Much less knownledges it. "I had to climb up here." Pointing to Asteroth. "I could hear his incessant grumbling to hurry it up as he slowly started to hatch." "I will only have a strong minded rider. I will not stand for anyone less then perfect." Snorting out, he was a bronze, the future leader in his mind. He needed a willing, strong minded rider to bond with him. From what he has gathered so far, there is a low count on tolertable leaders, much less one with brains if it was up to him to judge. A Queen needed a Strong Male. Not a weak one. And he was up to that challenge with his rider.
