You do 36 damage. The hobgoblin gets chopped in half. Now you can make one attack on the other hobgoblin due to your Cleave feat.

The axe cuts into the second hobgoblin's chest and he falls unconscious, bleeding all over the place. Now only 4 of the six ambushers remain.
The three hobgoblins on the right side fire their arrows. Two arrows fire at Dimitri. One misses the wizard, but the other hits him, dealing 5 damage. The other hobgoblin on the right side, the one Riven injured, fires on the elf lass. His arrow misses Riven.
The hobgoblin standing right next to Riven unstraps his shield from his back and readies it, and then takes a swing at Riven with his sword. She manages to dodge out of the way, the sword coming within inches of her body.

Now it's Riven's turn.

Putting away her dagger and flipping her bow into her hands with her foot, Riven takes aim at the hobgoblin that had fired at her.
"<WILL YOU DIE THIS TIME?!?>" she yells at him in Goblin as she fires.

((I'm going to assume you took a step away from the hobgoblin that's attempting to stab you, otherwise he'll get an attack of opportunity on you))
