Watching Uumi's face a moment, Ta'ziyan held back and said nothing, finally understanding that this was the prince he remembered, this was Kami's younger brother. Looking to his paws, the copper lion couldn't find any words to console the male, and just looked away as he moved ahead, clearly akward with the situation at hand.

It wasn't until Uumi spoke up again that the male looked up, and blinked silently at the hiss before glancing to the female that held back. With her mutterance, the male felt even more out of place, dispite the acceptance to his offer. All at once, he felt like a third weel, and as they moved on, he couldn't quite bring a smile to his own maw to match Sye's.

He felt even worse because he didn't know their names, he only knew the female was called Sye by her mate, and the male was still nameless, though he knew he should have known.

"Right...I guess it will be easier since you say he looks so much like his mother..." Nodding idly, he just looked ahead to where Uumi was stalking, and let out a soft sigh. As soon as they get to the rock, Ta'Ziyan knew he would need to find an excuse and leave them on their way, the tension in the air was clear, or at least clear in his mind.

Uumi shifted his weight a little, his mind getting worked up. How could his mother get this sick, now? Would she get over it... and go back to her normal, lesser-sick self? He glanced back toward the other two. Sye would have to forgive him, but right now his sickly mother was more important than his son. They were almost to pride rock, infact it was only a little bit before Uumi's paws made the switch from grass to rock, accending up the pathway.

Syeira frowned softly as she glanced back towards the lion, knowing that this was an odd situation for him to be in, one with undoubted tension. After all, Syeira felt even a little out of place herself, seeing that her mate was so dead set on getting to his mother, and that was certainly a situation she was not comfortable with - she could already forsee the pain Uumi would find coming, and she knew there would be no comfort that she could offer him.

As they met the great rock, her icy eyes slowly turned onto the escort and barely temporary companion - her eyes kind, though it was an odd thing that she was having to be so in such a situation. "Thank you for escorting us, and thank you ahead of time for looking for mu son," came the words, lilting and beautiful, quite the lyrical little voice, "but I think it would be best if we parted for now. Uumi has some things to take care of."

And with a simple nod, she start the incline up the rocks after her mate, movements pristine and elegant as she hiked along behind him.

Settling on his haunches, the male just watched with his soft copper eyes as the others padded ahead, his ears flatening slightly. He knew later that night, odds were that they would see eachother. A prince is to sleep in the den, and as long as he was with Kami, he would too. Letting out a deep sigh, he looked to the side before turning back.

"It is my pleasure," He murmered lightly to Syeira, before planting a smile on his maw. He would see them again, but until than maybe he could search for their son, and help them as their minds drifted elsewhere for the time being.

-Pulling himself from the den, Mufasa gave a great yawn, old muscles streching as the sunlight filtered upon his golden pelt. And when finally, the old bones felt awake and alive enough to move he made his way to the end of the rock, almost startled speechless when a familar sight touched his eyes.

Stepping closer to the edge he glanced over, blinking to make sure it wasn't an illusion, before finally the realization hit him completely. It was just as he hoped.. his children filtering back home for him to see. And just as the child had said as well. His parents HAD come for him.

A low and grumbling roar slipped from his throat, a sound intended to gain their attention, before finally the king's voice range cheerfully through the air.- "Uumi? That's you isn't it? Welcome home!"

Uumi's red gaze met his fathers as he got to the top of the pathway, breathing slightly hard but not so hard that it would cause an attack. He bowed his head to his father, he'd always felt more affection toward his mother. But that didn't mean that he didn't love Mufasa. "Father.." His eyes strayed toward the dens. "Thank you. How are you? You've heard about Syeira?" He asked slowly, nodding to the dusty female coming up beside him. He thought maybe mother would have told Mufasa about his mate, or Taabu would have said something.

"Is it true.. about mother?" He sounded very worried over this.

Syeira came up slowly behind her mate, not quite expecting to run into the king himself head first. Her eyes glanced upwards, her own stance proud, proud as any princess would carry herself - but in no way trying to infringe upon the status of the male before her. Slowly, she stopped at Uumi's side, though not directly beside him; more further back.

So this was Uumi's father? The famous Mufasa? Well, he certainly was large, and the air around him seemed quite royal indeed. She smiled, eyes glimmering from the haphazard rays of sunlight cascading down between the borders of clouds, lowering her head slowly. "Hello," she breathed, tail flickering.

But that was all she would say at the moment - Uumi was fretting over his mother, and he would let him talk to Mufasa first. She was sure she could talk to Mufasa anytime.

She still, however, took advantage of the height - glancing off in all directions, as if she could spot a toffee male against the dusty lands and among all the great members of the pride. Can't blame her for trying, though, right?

-He nodded gently, heading bowing in soft greeting towards the female, soft smile working upon his maw at the inital question.- "Indeed I have. It's a pleasure to meet you. And I'm as well as an old lion can be."

-He been about to stray towards a bit of good hearted teasing a rather 'I heard you might be headed this way', however Uumi's worry was heavy in the air, only resounding by the words that quickly followed his greeting.

Words of attempted comfort touched the air, as he moved softly out of the way of the two, turning his gaze towards the den ahead.- "You needn't worry about her Uumi. She's as fine as she can be. I'm sure it'd make her day to see the two of you at that."

-Eyes turning lightly to the female he asked lightly, albeit rhetorically.- "I hear you've already met her on a trip here before. I'm sure she would love some company once again."

Maybe she wasn't as bad as Ta'z had said? Maybe she was okay, maybe it was a fluke? Uumi didn't know what esle to say, instead he slightly turned his head, so that he could watch the royal den and also watch his mate. She could ask about Taabu now. Unless she was waiting for him.

"We really came here for a different reason though.." He sounded a little anxious, actually.

Syeira had been listening, despite the gazed look in her eyes as she peered out over the lands Mufasa ruled with his loving (and sickly) mate. Their words danced through her ears, noting in her mind the response on the subject of Sarabi's condition and the way Uumi reacted. It was only until he mentioned their true calling that she let her attention flee back entirely into the conversation - letting herself speak up now, so as to not be quite out of place.

"Indeed, we actually came looking for our son, your grandson," she said quietly, the brilliant blue eyes, a trademark of her mother's family, sparkling with hope that someone may have finally seen the boy. "His name is Taabu, I'm not even sure if he came this way, or if he did, if he came up to see you and Sarabi. I'm sure he'd want to see his grandmother though, since that's just the sort of cub he is."

It didn't strike Syeira that her son was no longer a cub - she would always think of him in such a manner, and he had been gone so long, they had been travelling so long, that she could never know the spurt of size he had encountered while living here in the lands of priderock. Neither could she know all the dangers he had encountered either.

((*giggles* Ohhhh Kansas plug.. XD Such a lovely song))

-Of course Sarabi hadn't gotten any better... but what she suffered was something that all lions suffered as the years slipped past them. Something inevitable to even the strong. Nothing lasted forever but the earth and sky.

It was something healable.. fixable.. so it wasn't something to let one worry about.

As the question of the mother touched his ears, his golden smile returned softly, happy that he could give them a bit of good news. Becoming increasingly happy with the many 'family reunions' he'd helped along in the past few months.- "Indeed, he said you'd come looking for him."

"I'm not certain where he is at the moment? Perhaps your mother would know? I know how intent he was on seeing her when he first arrived."

((*slips her post in* x3 respond to it however you like.))

The subject of the trio's conversation was at this moment en-route to the watering hole for her daily drink. She was about half way there now as the old lioness stopped to settle down into the long grass, her sides heaving as she panted. Stops like this were necessary, much as she resented them. They, and the time it took her to make a round-trip, were the reason Sarabi only made one trip to the water a day. More than that, and her whole day would be spent in slow traveling.

A yawn split the creamy lioness' jaws, her tufted tail swishing to chaise flies from her sides. Life now was so different from the days when little Simba had still trotted by her side, and she could drag a zebra from the kill site all the way to Priderock on her own... with a sprained paw. She wouldn't have believed that her elder years would have turned out like this, though she didn't regret anything but her sickness. The Circle of Life had a strange irony to it, Sarabi had to admit. No way of knowing what the next turn of it would bring them...

Since the invite from his grandfather, a lion he did indeed see quite a healthy bit of now during his stay in these lands, he had been living in the den temporarily with his Bibi and Mufasa. He hoped that in some ways, his presence made his poor sick Bibi feel a bit better - and that his grandfather would smile more, even if his children were slowly leaving one by one over time.

By now, having spent so much time here between his father's family, he knew the routine his grandmother followed - and he knew that she should be resting somewhere between priderock and the watering hole at this time. Lucky for him, he seemed to saunter upon her just in time for a little rest. Maybe she'd let him help her back to pride rock today.

"There you are Bibi," came the gentle words of an adolescent, a large male by all standards, and quite obviously going to take after his fluffy grandfather in his grandeur and size. That would set him apart from his father most definately - he could even be near the sickly lion's size by now.

"Do you need some help to the watering hole, Bibi?" he was unsure as to how much her pride would interfer with this - so it was always better to ask. He stopped at her side, slowly sitting down with a gentle smile on his maw - even though he now bore quite a few nasty little scars. Across his eye, but thankfully with the eye itself spared, was a single clawmark - thin but long, stretching above and below. His shoulders were subject to a few smaller, minor ones, and a few dotted him here and there. All thanks to his Uncle.

The lioness smiled at Mufasa's words, feeling her heart lifting even as he finished his sentance. At least Taabu had gone somewhere safe - somewhere he knew, even if it was very little. Her eyes seemed to light up all at once as she stared up at the great old king, her head bowing slowly in response to his wonderful news. Her son was here - in the pridelands.

"Where is Sarabi then?" she asked quietly, knowing from the lack of scent that she was hardly in the cave - but then, well, she couldn't have gone too far as sick as she was, right? Slowly, she stepped to the edge of the great rock - peering out over the lands.

It was then that she noticed the frail frame in the distance, that bright yellow that anyone could recognize as the great and gentle queen. Her eyes seemed gentle, watching her for the moment - until she noticed a rather rough looking rogue at her side. Her eyes narrowed, worried for a moment, until she realized who that rough looking rogue was.

"Uumi," she whispered softly, tail flickering, "I see our son." Her words were soft, gentle, but her surprise was evident. In all this time, she had always thought of Taabu as her small little cub - and he was, by now, nearly grown.

He gave his father a tight smile as he slowly approached Sye's side, crimson eyes moving over the land slowly and carefully. They landed on what hers had, first his frail looking mother and then the 'stranger' beside her. That was their son? He was big! Well... Uumi may not have been big in muscle sense, but he was rather tall. He lightly nuzzled his head into her neck. "Would you like to go get him, then?" He said quietly.

He was having a battle with himself, he didn't know wether he should be being more worried about his mother or his son. He glanced over toward Mufasa. "Would you like to accompany us down that way, dad?"
