I bought a whole bunch of incense today... well, not a whole bunch, but enough to last me for now. I bought some vanilla, dragons blood, cinnamon.... and some others that I can't think of the names. They sell them 20 sticks for one dollar at the New Age store here... I think that's a pretty good price, right? Maybe not, I don't know.

I love incense, I use it all the time to represent air on my main altar and as an offering on my dragon altar. I like to use sandalwood and nightqueen most of all, though for the sabbats and spell work I try to pick something relevant to what I'm doing.

I also love incense. smile One of the things I inherited from my mom. I don't like the plain european incenses though. I got too used to the indian thingies. My favourite is Darshan. heart There's always at least 3 boxes around the house.

i usualy use any insence depending on the occation,
like this samhein im gonna preform a cleasing and concencration ritual
so im using frankinsence and mhir insence.
its perfect for many rituals

I found some incense cones at a dollar store today. I'm going to try it when I get back to my regular house (at our vacation house now). The scents I got are rose, vanilla, and jasmine. I really want to try a lot of different ones, but I'm usually broke. Sometimes I just stick with candles, never tried incense before.

dark_angel_32189 I'm not allowed to have inscence... or candles in the house. My mom's afraid I'll burn the house down. my mum says the same.. but I still light candles.. I don't light incence unless I'm home alone thogh. So I do use them but not regualrly.

i use incence to calm myself down, and i use specific colors for my moods. like if im feeling kind of upset and want to be happy, ill use a cheery colored incence.such as light blue or yellow.or if i want to stay feeling upset ill use a darker color. Very frequently will use them for meditation.(my mom doesnt really trust me with fire either XD) so basically theyre my way of relaxing. my favorite would have to be gardenia or jasmine(i love the smell of flowers)

I use incense for many different things. Most of the time I'm burning incense to either calm myself down or when I'm looking up different things on Wicca. (Tends to be alot since I don't know that much). What I use? Umm. I don't know. xD My incense burning and the current incense were gifts from my brother and they're like seven years old. He got them in 9th grade and I'm in 11th grade myself with my brother being five years older. Most of what he gave me were purple. I can't really tell on a scent.
I also have two other kinds of incense, Dragon's Blood and Lotus. I really want more but either I can't find the ones I'm looking for or I don't know what I want. xD

Atmosphere. Magic. And when my rat cage smells bad.

Flavours? o.O Strawberry is good for love, and Dragons Blood is fire perfection.

Just found out the local dollar store has much more variety than the one I went to before, so they will be my main supplier unless I need something more exotic. (They have mainly plain scents, like lavender, vanilla, and mulberry. The most exotic they have is Ocean Breeze, which I haven't tried yet, although I bought a box.) I have started burning stick incense, I only used cones before. I got an ash catcher at the dollar store too, I wanted to try sticks because I heard they have less of a smoky smell. So far they are great.

healerweaver --aurellion-- Thank you. ^^ It's a good point about the incense around the quarters: candles are a little mundane admittedly, and there's a higher chance of doing damage if you knock them over.. sweatdrop Not done that yet, thankfully. What kind of scent would you use for fire, though? Hmm, I'll have to go looking for a good fire incense. I haven't found one that especially speaks out to me, so I'm thinking that I'll have to create one for the fire quarter. I'll keep notes and post them here, if you'd like. It may take some time to find, though. For a fire incense, you might try looking for zodiac incense. There's a shop here that sells it, and I've seen it on line. I'd probably use Saggitarius if I went that route. And Azure Green , which is one of the best Pagan supply comanies around, has this Fire incense. They also have other incenses for the various elements. their quality is excellent and they have pretty good prices (bulk 100 count package for $8.25 U.S.). they do ship internationally, but with shipping rates, this might not be the best chouce for non- US/Canada residents. I thought I'd throw it out there, though. Edit: My favorite brand is 'In Scents' and really hard to find. And I found this site, 'Home & Garden Accessories' that has incense for the Chinese Zodiac and Feng Shui, if anyone's interested in that. It looks like they've got a nice variety here.

I use incense to calm me, and help me sleep. I haven't done a ritual since i moved into my new house where I can burn it, but I probably will soon. My favorites are "Luna Masa", "Sweet Dreams", vannilla... I don't now if it is really an incense but I sometimes just throw some dried lavender on coals when I want that scent.
