I was planning on starting with the element I'm most comfortable with from the beginning anyway. My element is water which is why I choose Water Gazing as my first step into divination. ^^

I can't do mediation very well so I have never actually tried scrying. I perfer using the tarot cards to divine the future.

I've scryed through metals before, surfaces where I could see a slight bit of a reflection, but not a clear one. Most images appear in much the same distorted sense, but seem clearer in the mind then they do when you use mirrors. The other kind of scrying I have done is through smoke and evaporating ice/snow/water. No, I don't know my element.

Well then let's see if anyone can help make it easier for you...
Why is it hard for you (too much noise around you, not able to concentrate, etc)? And if it's not too much of a hassle, could you tell me everything that you do when you try to scry?

Has anyone had any experiences with 'accidental' scrying? Like while totally zoned out, or sleeping?

How do you scry when you're sleeping? Like in a dream or something?

It seems as if it is a dream but the manner that it happens in makes it obvious it's not a dream. It's happened to me several times (all the time really). I'm dreaming... and then everything goes ___ (insert color here) and then crazy vivid images do their thing and then I 'wake up'. The difference is that I can feel that it wasn't just a dream, and the 'vision' stays with me, dreams I forget within minutes.
Question: what is the autumn leafy scarf item you are wearing?

I see what you're saying... I've just never heard anyone call it scrying before.
I want to say it's called 'autumn glory'... not 100% positive (too lazy to go look sweatdrop ). It's autumn something, so if you go to the marketplace and type in "autumn", it should show up.

It's a form of divination. You know, like crystal ball gazing?

manga-gal Umm... call me blonde... but what exactly is scrying? No worries, we can't learn everything at once, and that is also why we are all in this guide, to learn. smile
Scrying is a magic practice that involves seeing things supernaturally in a medium, usually for purposes of divination. Mediums often used are a reflective surface, like a mirror, or water. Also translucent items like crystal balls, or smoke are used. Fire is another way. You sort of put yourself in a trance, and look beyond the item you are gazing it. There are many different ways of scrying, just do a bit of research, and try out different ways till you find a method you are comfortable with, or that works for you. Of course there are also other methods of divination if scrying doesn't suit you (if you are even interested in doing it. It may not be a priority for your path, I don't know). There are also runes, tarot, numerology, astrology, (to name the most popular and common ways) and my personal favourite biblomancy. The guild does offer a course in divination if you are interested in learning more indepth stuff
edit: sorry Dark Angel, you must have posted while I was still typing. Note to self: learn to type faster! XD
