That little...
"Tenten and I are merely friends, Uchiha. I'm not intrested in a girlfriend, yet." He stated flatly, knowing the practicing fighting off a blush was maybe paying off, though his heart skipped a beat.
He turned his face to Sakura, smirking with joy. "Oh, looks like she's here. Hey! You," You could say he didn't really like to remember names. "Are you this loser's girlfriend?" He pointed at the child beside him, awaiting her reply.

Che...SURE you aren't.
Sasuke had half a heart to begin making accusitions about Neji and Tenten. Neji was smart, so Sasuke had always secretly competed with him. And by that, was to be cooler, have better grades, and most of all,
Proving that the Uchiha clan was a jillion (times two) times better than the Hyuuga clan ever was!
Not like Sasuke even knew WHY he needed to think that his clan was better, but Sasuke indeed had family pride (hence that wonderful Fan symbol on EVERY shirt he owned), and he was SURE that the Hyuuga clan could not TOUCH his clan.
However, Sasuke decided that bothering Neji would do no good. After all, if Tenten and Neji were just friends, and Sasuke accepted that, then maybe Neji would understand that he and Sakura were also just friends. The topic would close.
"Oh, looks like she's here. Hey! You,"
Sasuke looked to the direction the long-haired boy was looking in. Sasuke smiled. It was Sakura! She had made it safe, and since Iruka had his focus on trying to get that Chouji kid to hand over the chips, she would probably get away with less trouble than the usual tardy punishwork.
"Are you this loser's girlfriend?"
Sasuke's smile faded. Fast. Once again his pale cheeks flared, and he swore in his head that he needed to GET A GRIP. It didn't make sense! Why was he blushing when he KNEW that he and Sakura were ONLY friends. He was pretty sure that she wouldn't lie to Neji, but still....
Didn't Neji have any tact?!
"C-cut it out, Hyuuga!" he cried in the coolest, calmest way he could muster...which happened to be a little less than a yelp at the moment. His gaze darted back and forth from Sakura to Neji, and he hoped to the Gods that Sakura wouldn't take the question for the worse.
She might think I like her like THAT or something! She'll think I'm creepy! I swear, if Hyuuga makes her mad at me, I'm gonna kick his butt to Suna and back!

Neji held back his laughter, though his smirk did grown wider. "What, Uchiha?" His eyes flashed back to the shrimpy pink girl. "Lying about it would certaintly be more fun, but...." He paused his thinking for a moment, darting his eyes back over to his secretive rival. "...He's not worth my time. I can beat him in everything." His pride was getting the best of him, again.
"Well, um..." He tried to think of her name, but it just wouldn't click. "What's your name, is he or what?" He persisted, getting a little tired of waiting.

[Oh, yeah. >>; I was just.. getting into character.]
Sakura's head had snapped up at hearing Neji's 'Hey!', assuming it was directed at her, and when she found him looking at her, she intently listened to his question.
"HEY -- Sasuke-kun isn't a loser!" Then her mind processed just what it was that Neji had asked.
Words could not describe how red her face turned.
"YES! I'm his girlfriend now and forevermore!" she wanted to shout, but kept that little thought inside her mind, and glanced at Sasuke when he spoke.
Had he already been asked? .. Had he.. denied? Well.. if Neji meant his question in the way she thought he did, 'no' was the right answer.. she simply didn't want it to be.
Her heart sank a little as her blush disappeared. She sighed and bowed her head, giving her answer in a melancholy tone of voice. "I'm a girl.. and I'm his friend. He's a boy.. and he's my friend." She inhaled a deep breath. "Also.." She lifted her head to give the Hyuuga a blank stare.
"My name is Sakura."

Neji exhaled, looking at her as if she had grown another head. "That doesn't really help, Sakura." He said he name in an almost prissy voice. "It's a simple 'yes' or 'no' question, but concidering the way you said it..." He turned his gaze back to the small Uchiha, tapping his chin as though he was deep in thought, "You sound like you're together." He clasped his hands together, another smirk sliding onto his face. "Uchiha, it's not okay to lie, especially when you're lying to somebody stronger than you." He made it sound like a challenge, though it really wasn't.

Sasuke frowned.
"Hey! Don't say her name all mean like that, jerk!"
Now Neji was just being a butthole.
Sasuke thought of a comeback, until the people snickering in the row in front of him caught his attention.
"Ne!" the girl whispered. "Wasn't that funny?"
"It was," the girl next to her replied, "Tenten sure saved Neji. If that shuriken wouldn't have gotton between them..."
"Haha...Kiba and Neji would've smootched!"
The two exploded into fits of giggles.
Sasuke smirked.
"Well, Hyuuga...seems like I was wrong about Tenten...it sure seems like you and KIBA are together, right?"
He snickered, and turned to Sakura, smiling in assurance; he was SURE he had just won the conversation.
"Now, if you don't mind, Neji, could you please leave my best friend alone? Kiba's missing you on the other side of the classroom."
With a grin that screamed 'INNOCENT. <3' he waved bye-bye to the boy that was his senior, waiting for him to just get up and leave.

Neji growled in annoyance. "I think I'd rather date your girlfriend than a kid with rabies!" He spoke in a stern whisper. After all, Sakura was pretty much an outcast, like the Uchiha boy.
"Go marry a fangirl, Uchiha." He sounded terribly angry and things wouldn't be looking to good if little Sasuke kept up the road he was one. Slapping the hand away, he stayed planted in the seat he was in, fortunately the child that normally sat here was sick, so he could stay here for a while and get under the raven's skin.

Sasuke's left eyebrow twitched. Boy, Neji could get on his NERVES.
But he remembered what his older brother told him.
"Don't get mad. Even if you have to pretend, look calm and collected," Itachi stated, with a grin on his face. "When you act like nothing bothers you, you'll piss them off. It's quite fun, actually...Sasuke, are you listening?" he asked. When the boy nodded, Itachi smiled and walked back into the house.
Sasuke pulled his hand back, and closed his eyes. Glancing at Sakura, and then back at Neji, he spoke.
"She's NOT my girlfriend. She's my BEST friend. And she'd be pretty stupid to date you...she might catch some kind of rabies that you caught from Kiba."
Looking like he didn't care, he yawned and smirked, leaning against his seat and glancing ahead at the front of the classroom.

Neji clenched both his fists. "How much trouble do you think we'd get if I slapped you?" Again, he tried to make it sound like a challenge, starting to get annoyed as well. "Besides, your 'Best' friend is annoying and stupid." He made two fingers on each hand bend slightly when he said "Best" just to agrivate the Uchiha.
Looking over to Iruka to make sure he wasn't looking he tried to calm himself down. "Since we're in weapon class watch your back or something might go through it." He smirked slightly, waiting to see Sasuke's reaction.

Sakura had been glancing back and forth between the two boys during the time of their 'argument', only to feel tears welling up in her eyes the entire time. She could see that Sasuke was trying so hard to refrain from doing anything to the Hyuuga, but Neji continued taunting him, threatening him..
..and insulting her.
Tears began to slide down the sides of her face at hearing the words 'annoying' and 'stupid.'
She balled her tiny fists together and attempted to glare at the older boy, but she was usually nice and.. never had anything to glare at.. so she wasn't used to it, and therefore didn't succeed. She also wasn't used to talking back to people, but Neji was.. really irritating her..
The pink-haired female remained silent, however, aside from the small sniffling noises she was making.

Sasuke was trying. HARD. In his mind, all her could proccess was his brother's advice. He hadn't even heard the slap comment.
Don't get mad. Even if you have to pretend, look calm and collected. Don't get mad. Don't get mad. Calm and collected. Calm. Calm. CALM.
"...your 'Best' friend is annoying and stupid."
Sasuke was VERY close to punching the living daylights out of the Hyuuga, but Itachi's words echoed in his mind, and his fist unclenched from his side.
Don't get mad....calm, calm.
But when he turned he head to find Sakura there, crying, something in the Uchiha snapped. She was getting hurt.
He was going to KILL Neji.
"Why don't you shut the hell up?!!"
His fist flew at Neji's face as fast and as hard as he could get his arm to move.

Neji used his fast reflexes to slap the arm away. "See, she's more than a friend." He was smirking like no tomorrow now. "Also, little Uchiha brats shouldn't be saying hell."
Turning his gaze back to the sniffling Sakura he sighed. "Pathetic, too?" He started shaking his head, as if he was disappointed, but he was really enjoying this. He relaxed in his seat for a moment, looking towards Tenten to see if she had heard anything.

Sasuke's mood had only worsened when Neji was able to block his punch. He was ready, however, to throw a second punch. Unfortunately for Sasuke, and possibly fonrtunate for the Hyuuga, they happened to be in a classroom.
"Uchiha Sasuke and Hyuuga Neji! What's WRONG with you!?" Iruka shouted, making his way to the row of the two boys.
"The two top students in this class...unbelievable!"
Sasuke glared at the teacher. "Didn't you just h-"
"There's no excuses, Sasuke! Ninja do not show emotion; it's a rule of the shinobi. And here you are, letting Neji get you to the nerve to hit him..."
As the rest of the class started murmering about the incent, and Iruka continuing to ramble, Sasuke could NOT take any of it anymore.
He not-so-gently shoved Neji out of his way, and stormed across the row of seats. He didn't even glance at Sakura once as he opened the door to the class exit and left, making sure that the door closed behind him with a loud bang.

Sakura's eyes widened slightly when Sasuke was the first to make a move to attack. She ignored the 'pathetic' comment, and gasped slightly when the raven-haired young boy threw a second punch. "Sasuke-kun.." She bit her lower lip when Iruka called out to them.
She blamed Neji.. it was his fault.. his fault Sasuke had --
Her thoughts came to an abrupt halt as she watched the young Uchiha leave -- more like storm out of -- the classroom. "S-Sasuke-kun!" she called after him.
She turned to glare at Neji with red trimmed and still watering eyes. "You.. you're.. you're just a bully!" And she stuck her tongue out at him for good measure before standing and running after Sasuke.

When Sasuke was in the courtyard, he hesistated about exactly where to go. If he stayed, no doubt a teacher would see him. If he went home, no doubt someone in his clan would find him...and during school hours, he'd get in a lot more trouble.
He would go somewhere else.
Stuffing his hands in his pocket (to avoid punching the next thing he saw) he walked to the gates of the school, kicking it open and walking out.
He was unaware that Sakura had been following, so he kept walking down the path, his eyes glaring at the ground as if by looking at it could demolish it.
