I've been to two Jewish camps (I asume we're talking about sleepaway), they were fun, but one I left becuse I was in a cabin of ten people, and there were 8 people from my grade at school. Neither of them were observant, I mean both kept kosher and both had Kabbalat Shabbat and Sat. morning services, but they were optional and barely had any people. Also, I'm shomer shabbas and nobody else in either of my bunks were for four straight years! One of the camps even had hebrew classes, but nobody really did anything except for talk. But the good things were that we had Jewish programs and really great ru'ach sessions.

This is so ironic because I was just about to post a topic on the Forum about studying abroad in Israel. I was hoping to go for a semester, but could go for a summer. Does anyone know of any good programs?

If you belong to a Jewish youth group like USY (united synagogue youth - conservative) or YJ (young judea - zionist) then there are programs through those that you can go on. There is also a program called Birthright which is for Jews ages 18-26, who have nver been to Israel before. link: http://www.birthrightisrael.com/bin/en.jsp?enPage=HomePage I have not been on it but I have heard very good things about the program.

sure, but it depends on what type of group you're looking for, most importantly denomination. there are orthadox, conservative, and reform programs, but they're all a bit different.
