Here are some concept art work of Megatron, his vehicle mode, and his weapon.
Megatron's alternative mode and weapon

Nice!

I was wondering is Soundwave not going to be in the movie? Because that's what I thought but I found this other image on their website under the "fanart" section and I was like damn either that person was really good or Soundwave is in it. Anyway I posted it under the wallpaper section in "Wheeljack's Lab" so have a look and let me know 3nodding
Never fear, Soundwave will be in the sequel along with Shockwave. I hope the other Autobots will be in this sequel.

My only comment is that we don't know if there will be a sequel yet. We can discuss it till the energon runs out, but until the movie hits theaters, and companies see if it will be profitable . . . it is all hopeful conjecture.

Well there's two things that will determine the outcome in my opinion. One is that the transformation and look of the movie is so great that people want to see a sequel with their favorite bots in it. The other is that the story make people want to know "what happens next; you can't just stop it here" then fans and non fans want to know more.

In my opinion if those fail then chances are there won't be another movie.

Given the clips thus far the chances of the major toy purchases (children under 12) might not be buying them because parents may choose not to take them to the movie to expose them to the toy line.

Here's a question though, do you think a lot of the kids will go see this movie or not? I mean right now a lot more of the kids buy the current toy line than prior fans, not saying that they don't but overall it's more towards the kids because it's on tv.

Hugo--HUGO WEAVING? Is anyone else as upset about this as I am? The man is a talented actor, but...I really don't think he's Megatron material. I was hoping for Frank Welker very much.

I've done my best to avoid naysaying about this movie, but...Hugo Weaving?!

Hugo Weaving sounds like a good casting. I'm sad that Welker didn't get the part, but Weaving has experience playing an ultimate badass. He should fill the role for what it is. I've lost any hope of this being connected to the original G1 after seeing the direction they were going with it. It's just going to be another big budget action movie that just happens to have the Transformers brand to sell some toys.

I think kids will go buy the movie toys simply because kids don't know otherwise, and they'll probably go see the movie too regardless if it's age appropriate. I remember seeing the movie "ANTS" and although I bet the TF movie is way more appropriate for kids, parents thought that because "ANTS" was a cartoon it was okay for kids. So simply because it's a TF movie, kids will go see it no matter what razz

Dude, you are not the only who is disappointed on this. I was shock to read this news. Do not get me wrong everybody, Hugo Weaving is a good actor, but I do not accept him taking the role of Megatron. If the Beast series and the Unicron series have Gary Chalk and David Kaye, then this movie should have Frank Welker and Peter Cullen. There has got to be a reason why Bay's producers pick Mr. Weaving over Mr. Welker.

Honestly, I'm glad it's Weaving over Welker. Welker's Megatron was a nice cartoon badguy voice, don't get me wrong, but it's nowhere near as iconic as Cullen's Prime.

That and, pretty much the only people it matters to are already posting about it on the internet. The majority of people in this movie's audience are going to have no idea who Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are. And a large chunk of them are probably going to be saying "Wow, they actually managed to get BOTH original voices for Optimus Prime AND Megatron!" (Some of them probably the same people who insist they had MP/20th Prime as a kid and it's sitting in an attic somewhere as we speak. Memory is a fickle thing.)

As much of a nerd and fan of G1 as I am, I have to go with Mylian on this one. While it would have been awesome to have the old interplay between Cullen and Welker, the former was the far more important. I would rather have Cullen and no Welker than Welker and no Cullen.

That, however, is as far as my siding with him goes. As much as I hate to admit it, it would be interesting to have Kaye continue to voice Megs in the movie. Something of an old meets new of the voice casting. Perhaps it is just my preference for more bass voices for a 7-25 foot tall robot. Meh. In recent years, despite utterly crappy scripts, I have easily embraced Kaye's version of Meg's voice. The only complaint is the voice- it sounds too strained. Other than that, take Beast Wars/Machines for example. In it he wonderfully conveyed that megalomaniac commander aspect and would be lovely for the movie.

As far as Weaving goes- thus far I am at a 'no.' In order to get my mind into that aspect, just to see what to expect, the only example I can come up with is the final sequence of Agent Smith from the third Matrix movie. That overpowering confidence and rage is as close as I have been able to think of for an example of what Megs is likely to sound like using his voice. What is in my mind leaves me wanting. emo

I'd give up on trying to "visualise" what it's going to sound like. Because they're probably going to run it through so many effects filters that half the voice performance is going to be post-production anyway. That and Weaving's various mainstream characters, despite popular jest and YTMND pages, actually show more range than those who joke about it like to admit. So I wouldn't rely on one of them to compare too much to.

Mmm, David Kaye would have been nice too. I just can't imagine Hugo Weaving as Megatron. Granted, if he does an awesome job then I will be thrilled, as I really do like his work.

I agree 100% on the Cullen thing, though; if I can only have one, I'll take him!

As a matter of fact, I despised the idea of Hugo Weaving taking the role of Megatron. Though Frank Welker had been doing voice acting from the late 1960s, his first role was and always will be Freddy Jones of Scooby Doo, he should have taken by default since Bay and crew immediately took Peter Cullen to reprise Optimus Prime. When I first saw the design of Megatron for the upcoming movie, I thought that would be a work in progress, but when I later found out that he will officially take that form, I completely accepted it. Hell, I was watching one of my subscribee's videos, he was given a question of what he think of Megatron's new form, and he said he looks more like Sauron from Lord of the Rings. Well, I agree with him and next thing I know, and possibly Kevin knows about it, that Megatron's voice actor will be Mr. Weaving of the cast of Lord of the Rings. Here is a video of him saying it at 2:18. Ask Kev Anything Episode 4 Part 1 of 2 - NEW

Well after the changes and limits to things I've already pushed the "what if" button so there's no more surprises. The only reason that compells me to go see this on the first day is that I want to see Dinobots in the next ones to come. I'm sure they can't muck that up, I mean they are giant dinosaurs! Anyway, lets hope for the best and enjoy what ever it is that is being played lol.
