Zelyhon Catacombs are up. Council Members: Before I post your HQ, I need your requests for defensive features. Just toss some out here and I'll build them into the location. If you could be somewhat specific as to what you want, like what the effect is, where it is, how it's activated, and if there's anything else special about it. Otherwise, I'll build it in as I see appropriate. Rarr and hello to all - sorry I haven't posted for a bit - exams. I'm fine with everything that people have said about the HQ so far. Anything you put up will be fine with me; I'll work with anything. But can I add that I really like the idea of the anti-magic field being in place in the council building. Although a question springs to mind, in that case; does pre-prepared, passive magic e.g. golums or fireworks (you know who you are blaugh ) work within this field? I'd say not. This leaves all members open to conventional physical attack, which is mad. Please someone hit the old lady. Also, perhaps this anti-magic field should increase Iahhel's abilities - magnify them , so that maybe, drawing off the field, he can drain life-force as he normally would magic. But it would be difficult to sustain and should be used sparingly, of course, outherwise he could just go busting in and win the rebellion for AU straight away xd . Anyway, that's just an idea. Also, could each council member have an office in the building and a pigeon hole type arrangement? So that council members have other private places to meet than their homes, and we can drop of messages quickly and easily. As in "I saw your message about" so the game can progress quickly. But that's just my thoughts biggrin .

Well, then, in that case, I'll try to write those up later today.
Galexia: I thought that magic worked inside the barrier, with a certain amount of space preventing spells from outside from getting in. If you want the whole building magic-proof, then that's do-able. I just need that clarified before writing it, since it's just a little important.
I'd be inclined to allow passive magic to work within, else how would you explain unbreakable stained glass windows and the Watchers and stuff like that.
Iahhel's reaction to the barrier: I was actually thinking of that and how it could be played. It won't come into effect until much later, but when it does, it'll have major consequences, like Iahhel trapping the council in the barrier (which drains their magic into him) and rampaging through the city or something like that. This won't come until much later (he hasn't built himself up enough to deal with everything the Council could throw at him), but it will come. I haven't fully worked out the mechanics, but I will when we get there.
Private offices: Yeah, I'd kinda assumed that'd be the case. Kinda like senator's offices.

Whatever you think is best Zely, do it 3nodding . Surprise me... After all, you're the only one (and maybe Truewind?) with the sort of grand plan here; I mean, you know how you're going to steer the story in terms of catalysts and huge plot points, so it should be up to you. I'm okay with magic working inside; and you bring up a good point about the windows and trees. So - in short, do what seems right, and makes sense to you whee . Here, have my support on the subject; *hands him her support* xd .

Just had another, er... thought. (Kind of rare for me, you know!? blaugh )
I think this is kinda already established, but is the HQ divided into two sections? Like one part is the housing area, including: bedrooms for overnighters, Master's Quarters (Truewind's) facilities, kitchen, living room, dining room, etc; and the other part is the work quarters, with all the fancy-shmancy AU stuff. I think that would be a nice set-up. And even though they're yucky tombs, I think the inside should look like a victorian mansion. Very fancy and nice, not something you would expect in an environment like that. I just don't want it so....earthy. Anyway, just some question/suggestions! I'll be on almost nonstop for the next week! WHOO! THANKSGIVING BREAK KICKS SOME SERIOUS MANGO BUTT!

Like it says in the Upper City thread, you're free to describe it however you want, plus to create somewhat extraneus rooms. But keep in mind we have to stay somwehat stealthy, so no three story rooms.

'Tis my "Basic" Bio, will edit as needed. (Based off Briar Moss, Tomora Peirce's Circle of Magic series) Name: Graros Spelloyal Age: 18 Hair: Avatar, only Light Green. Eyes: He has Green eyes, plant colored. Height: 6"4 Other physical features: He is thin, scrawny, and not very athletic. He is used to warm temperatures. Wearing: A green robe that is long so hem brushes the ground, and green ankle-high boots. Under his robes, a jacket of vines covers his entire body. Carrying: A Small vase that holds bunches of stalks with pollen balls on the end. Magic : Plant magic. He uses his magic to swiftly grow plants, and can draw off their energy. He prefers to use his magic for healing, but an overdose of healing can be used for violence. He can create balls of healing herbs that when persuaded, can explode and give off severe amounts of pollen, poison, or a healing gas. Active or Passive: Passive Demeanor: Easygoing, protective around most living things, extremely protective of plants. Serious about everything, and likes to play pranks and joke around. History: Graros came to the city when he was three, and has not been "accepted" by the people already living there. He has not commited any crimes, and is known by some as a "Justice Keeper". Little do they know that he leads another life in the AU, and that he sells more than herbal remedies and pretty plants. Allegiance: AU Member Job within group : Recruitor in Lower city Other details: He owns a small family florist and herb shop on a corner, with a small, cluttered apartment on top. He has a secret lab in the back where he conducts new plant experiments, and fixes his common mixtures in another lab in front. He has a backdoor that leads to another shop of his, or the other half of his shop, where he sell more potent wares.
So, tell me what you think.
5 Passive Mages, 8 Active Mages.

No, there can be as many AU or Council members as request to join, unless one side starts massively overbalancing the other.
Gretr: Good, except for I'd request you try to describe your hair, seeing as how if you ever change you avatar's hair, it might cause confusion.
Other than that, it's fine. Plant magic was actually one of the bases I used when designing the system for passive magic.

About the Council/AU HQs discussion: Remember that there are two of them that we're talking about. The AU's HQ is the one that should be rather small and compact, while I would expect the Council HQ to be almost overly-grand.
In other news, I should have a post up tonight. biggrin

You better! And I want AU HQ to be...well.... cozy yet elegant...I can picture it in my head, but it's hard to describe. I'm gonna go format Gretr's profile then. (Sorry about the mistake!)
Oh, and Zel? Could you PLEASE get some damn AU members to post at HQ? Truewind, in particular? Or maybe just have Iahhel post? Interrupt us, do something! I'm dying...slowly, slowly fading....
*gack*

I was going to have Iahhel pop in in the most inopportune moment, actually. twisted He'll be there. Just wait a bit. In other news, I wasn't really happy with the first Council HQ I wrote up, so I'm rewriting it and posting tomorrow.

Rarr all; Urgh. New job; so tired.
Just realised I may have stuffed up daylight/nightime factors between the upper and lower cities - it was night in the upper and day in the lower. Oh well, in my next post it'll be morning anyway so that'll right the wrong. Maybe time is just moving faster in the upper city story xp . Whatev.
Anyway; Penden, i think your last post said that your character was heading back to the shop unless someone mauled him; go - Seren will head over there and pick up a knife. Then Kai, she'll head to Yuthaweh's. Unless random AU member decides to pounce and eat her alive.
Urgh. So tired. I love everybody in this thread.
