((<33 I'm trying to buy all the PoH books now. I only have 1-3, though, asI'm having problems finding the rest. sweatdrop But I've reread them many times over the past few days! <33 I'm going to be Dec. Orcot for part of Kawaiikon next year for a joint cosplay [Orcot and D]. I love the ending still. It was so... I don't know how to say it. XD So chilling, but yet with a little glimpse of hope. It really made me feel something, but I don't quite know what. xD;;; [/ramble]

Agreed about the D and Orcot. I mean, honestly. They set us up for it, but we didn't get to see anything?! gonk ))

"Now, that's more my taste," Armando said, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned back casually against the outer wall of the guild. "That cute one there." He gestured vaguely.

"What, the blonde one?"

"No, idiot," Armando scowled now, shoving his friend half in play and half in annoyance. "The other one. That's soft on the eyes. I've seen her around before, too. She's nice; always very sweet."

Santiago rubbed his shoulder, almost pouting as he did so. "So you going to go talk to her, or what?"

Armando shook his head, a soft melancholy smile playing about his lips.

"No," he leaned back farther, pillowing his head on his arms. "I don't feel like it."

(( I wonder if Luwalk would be strong enough.... ))

"See?" Santiago asked the world in gerneral but his friend in specific as the two girls hurried off. "Nice. What did I tell you? Nice. And you just let that chance slip through your fingers!" He snapped. "Just like that. Damn."

He rolled his eyes. "Nice going."

"So why didn't you go to talk to them?" Armando asked, nerves starting to rackle at the other's insistent complaining.

"Because you seemed interested," Santiago sighed. "Fine. I see I'll just have to go over there and talk some sense into them since I can't do it to you. Maybe I can convince one of them to go out with your sorry a**."

Armando sweatdropped, eye twitching slightly as he slid further back against the wall, reminding himself that he was the elder and therefore could not easily justify the beating he was starting to wish he was immature enough to give.

"Fu--"

They were interrupted by a shout from the other end of the castle grounds, the noise excited on the uncommonly peaceful air. The voice called again, although it was still too distant to be understood. Armando stood, alert, as Santiago straightened slightly, ready to stand as well.

The shout came again, closer this time, and Santiago jumped to his feet, eyes wide.

"Did they just say..."

His words were still rending the air as Armando ran towards the main gates, disappearing in the once more still air.

Caracas was gasping for air as he slid off the riding darna, sweat plastering his light hair to his brow. The creature's flanks were heaving from the long sprint to the castle and Caracas let it be led wearily off to the stables, wishing he would be allowed to regain his wits as well.

That wasn't about to happen.

He sighed, the action both to express his state of mind and to enable him to intake another wide swallow of oxygen.

"O-Officer Bierrez is coming," he said, now able to stand upright once more and to breathe with some semblance of ease. "He has an urgent report to make to Sir Ruwalk."

Urgent was how he was chosing to phrase it. What had actually been said was more along the lines of "if-you-don't-get-me-a-meeting-as-soon-as-I-ride-in-the-gates-I'm-going-to-filet-your-lungs-for-my-dinner".

Caracas was a very fast rider under stress.

Recognizing Armando arriving in the small crowd surrounding him, he waved him over, taking the lull in activity to pull a tightly rolled scroll from his belt.

"You're off duty?" The question was a mere formality; Armando was still in civilian clothes and without a weapon. "Find Sir Ruwalk and give this to him. Officer Bierrez is going to be here within the hour and he wants a meeting scheduled. Officer Tetheus should also be informed." He shook his head, leaning over briefly once more as the blood continued to pound in his face.

"I don't know. The letter should say. Give it to Sir Ruwalk."

Armando nodded steadily, taking the scroll from the other's gloved hand. "Go get something to drink," he smiled slightly, unable to erase the anxiety from his face. "I'll get this to him."

Hastily yanking on a jacket borrowed from a friend coming off duty ("borrowed" here meaning "forcefully taken" and "friend" meaning "someone he recognized"), Armando scanned the mostly deserted halls for someone who might be able to point him in the direction of either of the two Officers he was searching for.

"Oh!" The gasp escaped his lips as he rounded a corner into a passage way off the main entrance. The tall figures of the Black and Yellow Dragon Officers were passing by directly in front of him.

"Sir Ruwalk!" Armando called, hurrying down the hall, boots echoing off the marble floor.

Blinking, Ruwalk turned his head towards the sound and then turned totally towards the "half on-duty and half off-duty looking" Dragon Fighter. "Yes? What is it?" From the hurried look on the fighter, Ruwalk guessed that he had recently been off-duty... which would, taken in the only piece of uniform he had bothered to don (and very quickly too), only mean that there were some trouble waiting for them. He just hoped it wasn't too bad.
