"You would only have three? That's not nearly enough for any unit. Unless you intend to use them for more peaceful means."
Such a low number, that wasn't good. They could easily give them fifty stallions and not worry about their numbers. Sure they were a fledgling nation; but they weren't just coming out of no where. They had consolidated the lands around the former town and brought them all together. It gave them some base.
"Of course; but even if you would not someone else may. An arrangement suitable to make sure that the Youkai aren't cheated shall be made. It just remains to be seen what it shall be."

She suddenly flashed him a wide grin, the first she'd given him, and turned to Daoin "Go get the goat."
"What would you suggest, as a more adequate number?" Everything was going well, and the memory of the scared girl shouting to Quintilius was fast fading.

"That, my friend, would depend upon how many you can transport at a time, how frequently these ships will run, and over what length of time. There are a number of factors that must be considered. So tell me, what do you think we can provide in one year to begin."
This was child's play, there was no treachery as he had known. At least none of the level he would consider worthy. Hell, why was he even doing this to begin with? It wasn't his gold, nor his land, his animals. None of it was actually his save his farms. All of it bellonged to Pale.
But then, there was always something in it for him.

"Can you provide, for instance, a hundred of those fine mares?" an odd look had crossed his face. It was only there for a moment, but it made her wonder what he was thinking. It was intriguing. If he could match her, then she would be willing to accord him some more respect, despite his appearances.

"Yes, one hundred mares would be within are ability to provide. How many do you think you can transport at a time and how many ships do you expect to be employed in the venture and how often shall they set sail?"
All it was crucial to figure out their production rate; and then they also needed to figure out how much each horse was worth to what they would get in return. A soft smirk played across his lips as he mused about how much Pale would have ******** up.

"Harses...." the Clootie trailed as it was brought out by Daoin, licking it's lips. It had just eaten an hour ago, but the mention of those animals did set it's mind to wander. "Weapons show now, this is the right?" it asked abruptly.

Quin turned his attention to the Clootie and slowly nodded his head.
"Yes, we are ready whenever you are. I just need to know if you want to watch someone else use them, or try your hand at them yourself. We have the basic tools of war; pole arms, swords, axes, crossbows, shields, plate armour. And our smiths are competent enough to perform requests to accomidate differences."

The more it was in her prescence the more the creature disgusted her. "Hasn't it made it perfectly clear that it cannot handle such weapons?" she stated more than asked, the once friendly tone starting to wane. It was none of the human's doing, but that didn't matter. How she wuld love to get her hands on some new weapons, but they were for now untouchable. Later the Clootie would no doubt request something be plated in silver for itself.

Quin had to chuckle at that, while their whole stock pile was not an any condition for them to use he had taken the liberty of having a few set in a manner suitable for their guests.
"Don't think me so uncultured. I have had the demonstration blades coated with a layer of silver. People always like to feel a blade in their hand before buying it after all. You don't want bad quality."

Could the humans provide 100 mares in such a short time? It was intriguing, and since he saw it as benefitting them much more directly than any weapons demonstration would, he prodded more "With the displacement, and an elder Faye, they could be transported quite quickly General." he said quietly to Fay

Delighted, it nodded it's head in rapid approval. "I would test weight, and see sparring. Could I see?" The Clootie had, of course, excellent hearing. Which reminded it- "And then lunch."

"Yes, yes you may. I shall have the weapons brought down forth right to this area so we may provide the demostration. And you shall have something to eat, what would you prefer?"
Too easy, where was Tzeentch to ******** things up?

"Pig." it replied, then seemed to take some time over the next question "Spar and weight test on ship? No, unlogical." It knew that Fay was hesitant to move off of the ship, but what good would a demonstration be on this layout?
