Ooh, I hate it when authors (*cough*Slashapalooza*cough*RyTen NoDah) stop updating their fics, and leave the readers hanging. It's, like, a crime against humanity! D:

I hate finding fics that seem really good, but then looking at the date and seeing that it was first written in 2003. Kind of a mood ruiner.

Maybe authors should just complete a fic before posting it. Or have two or three chapters to go, at least.

I think alot of authors do that, or atleast the ones I've talked to :3

I tried to do that with an AU fanfic awhile ago, but halfway through the second chapter I lost inspiration because A. I thought my plot was flawed and B. I can't write phone conversations for s**t. sweatdrop

I need to come up with an idea before I can actually write a fic. I mean, I can think of the basis for a plot, like "They're in high school!" or "They're magical fairy princes!" or something, but I can't think of a plot. Like, how they meet, why they grew/grow to like each other, how it will end, what will obsticles be...
How do you guys do it?

I have to do the same thing D: I have to know what everything is supposed to do and when it does. So I can't help you. . .
AUs are really hard if you don't know what to do. . . Which is why I dont write 'em. I really don't write all that much .__.

If I wrote anything, it would be a oneshot. But all the oneshot ideas are taken. I've even thought before, "wow, I have this totally fluffy and neat idea for a oneshot!" only to look on fanfiction.net the next day and find the exact same plot already used.

You have to think outside the box these day. .__. Just look at ordinary things that could be included into a fanfic. Like a shop or anything!
