Awen frowned. "Because, the only other staff member I heard that was 'reassigned' down here... has been changing like the rest of us. Newt, I hate to say but... I think you are in some serious trouble."

She always believed in being honest to people on the island. There is no sense in indulging the lies of Moreau or their own dillusions... Tell them the truth, or what you are almost certain is the truth, and show you are there for them that way. Instead of betraying them with lies.

Newt gave a nervious laugh, his face paling, "Th-that's re-re-rediculous. Th-they w-wou-woo-wouldn't... w-waste- th-that's... I h-hardly th-think..." He fumbled, the bottle of windex slipping from the crook of his arm to clatter on the floor.

Awen sighed sympathetically. Of course he would try to deny it but-- the windex bottle clattered to the floor. "Oh! Here let me get that..."

She bent down carefully to pick up the bottle from the floor and glanced up at Newt from a crouched position. "Newt, listen. I don't claim to know everything here. I could be wrong, they may have just transfered you. but it's mighty suspicious you're the only janitor I've ever seen, and you're staying in a duplex with the rest of us subjects? I t just seems mighty suspicious to me." She stood up and handed him the spray bottle.

"Of course I hope not, for your sake." She gave a smile but it slowly faded. "I just don't want you to ignore the possibility... and have a worse shock when you wake up one and day...well..." She gestured to her own changes to show him what she meant.

He snatched the cleaner away from her, his face red now, "Th-that's re-re-re-re-rediculous!" His usually nervious, frightened expression had darkened, thick brows furrowed in an intense sort of frustration, "How w-would you know s-something like th-that? I'm j-just here to k-keep... t-to k-keep..." His face scrunched up, the built up dander in the room from the furrier islanders finally getting to him befor he sneazed sharply.

She stumbled back away from the flying snot and frowned a little bit. She shook her head slowly. "I never said you have to believe me, and I never said I knew for sure. It was just a possibility I am trying to prepare you for."

She started walking forward, and passed the shakey janitor. "I'm sorry Newt, I really am. Just ignore what I've said, okay? I mean, what do I know? I'm just a lowly subject in this game."

She moved to the Rampage game she had come for and started playing. She didn't seem like Newt was going to get much more out of her very easily.

Lowly subject? That's what she thought? They were prizes! They were elite! They were beyond humanity! They were the next step! They were... the personification of progress! Of mankind moving the next step up towards becoming gods! How could she even think...? "W-well... I'm j-just the l-lowly.... cus-cus-custodian," He murmured, staring down at his pidgeon-toed shoes, "They wouldn' waist s-something so v-valuable on me." That said, he collected his cleaning supplies to slink towards the door, his chin tucked against his chest.

Awen remained focused on her game and seemingly was ignoring the janitor as he slinked away, or possibly she had gotten into her gaming zone and didn't hear him. She did however turn to the door when she heard the soft click of it closing.

Sighing she looked to the way Newt had gone. "For your sake, I hope you're right Newt."

Rack 'Em Up
Gallen and Liamh

Liamh leaned over the billiards table, gingerly lifting the restraining triangle and setting it aside. He picked up his pool cue stick and grabbed the chalk, bracing the stick and twisting the blue cube on the end. He had a lot to think about since last night's film fest fiasco with the two islanders he'd met.

There was something about learning your life was no longer your own... that your body belonged to science - weird science, he thought wryly - that tended to arrest all your thought processes. It had been running circles through his head all night, and despite the lack of sleep, he had too much nervous energy to focus without doing something. So he'd taken a walk and ended up in the Rec room, and had immediately gravitated to the smooth, inviting green-felt lawn of the pool table.

Pool required concentration. Concentration that would force him to focus. Take down each wildly oscillating thought one by one. Like billiard balls.

He suddenly realized he'd worn a large divot into the chalk and his hand was dusted in blue powder. He rolled his eyes and blew the chalk dust away, and moved to break the set. Bent over and lining up the cue, his back was to the door.

After the previous night talking with Ian and finally excepting the horrible truth of the island, Gallen had decided to take his cat Drake back in and get some sleep. Now it was a new day, and Galen felt a little better. He had slept most the morning away and it was noon. He figured it be best to go get some food, since he had not eaten for the last few days, due to his state of shock and fear after his run in with….the squid man…thing… He strolled down the dirt path to the cafeteria, a little nervous that eh might run into that squid thing again, but at the same time, with hope he might see Ian, Tommy, or old man Richard. He would not even mind bumping in to Cody, who he needed to find and apologies to. He soon reached the door to the town hall building and quickly slipped in. as he walked the hall, he found himself getting disoriented again. He soon found a door and opened it only to be greeted by the beeping and sound effects of a video game recreation room. Before him stood a blond haired man by the pool table….a man…a human!!!

“Thank god, there is another human on this island, besides old man Richard and that creepy Sabin guy.” Gallen said with a smile

Liamh's finger twitched and his back stiffened at the voice behind him. He stopped just before letting off his shot, eased the stick down, and glanced over his shoulder. A short guy, probably in his early twenties, was in the doorway looking his way.

"Oh, hey there," Liamh straightened and turned around, pushing his glasses back up his nose. "So you know about the whole mess, eh? Not sure i could take giving the whole schpiel..." he set the pool stick upright next to him, chalk-end up, and leaned on the edge of the table. "Not that i can get it out of my head, though, you know?" He looked over the other guy, wondering how long he'd been there, what he'd seen of the place...

And wondering how long before this guy started mutating right along with the rest.

Gallen stood there, a little shocked this guy would blurt out the whole issues about the island in such a calm and cool manner. He looked the tall skinny guy over as he thought over how to respond. “umm, yhea, real big mess. Yhea.” This guy must be a lab tech, Gallen thought. Umm so do you work for Feral I take it, since your so calm and cool about the whole thing..or maybe your like me have a relative here.” He smiled gallen still could not except the fact that more likely then not he soon would start sprouting fur or what ever and going all feral or something.

Liamh snorted derisively, glancing back at the triangle of glossy colored balls. "Work for these monkey-licking bastages? Yeah, actually i did - i THOUGHT i did - up until last night." He gripped the stick tighter.

"Thought this was a friggin' resort they were building... hired me to work on the network security. No wonder they let me have the weekend off before starting... too good to be true, eh?" he laughed mirthlessly. "I guess i shoulda known i'd get mixed up in some sort of Sci-Fi mess if i watched Return of the Thing From Space too many times. Now i'm stuck in the blasted Twilight Zone jungle...." he trailed off, then shook his head.

"You've got a relative here?" he asked, glancing back at the other guy. "They work here, or are they... you know... one of the..." He swallowed. "experiments...?"
