definite shouting in my parts....but the only think i could make out was when someone mooned us on our way to a concert...

We practice on the football field, and it's totally out of the way from any main roads, so you'd have to drive there with the intention of just pissing off the band. Same goes for band camp, except thats in the middle school soccer/baseball fields. Most people, particularly parents with young kids, drive by and park to watch us practice. The last people that did anything outlandish to pick on us was the varsity soccer team, who ran through our formation. 4 of them were taken down by trumpet players, and the CG instructor (Shelby, who's Satan incarnate with the way she can yell at you), freaked out and chased them all the way back to their soccer field. Plus, when one of them got tackled, she practically stepped on his face. Needless to say, the soccer team doesn't really bother us anymore. The football team makes fun of us when they walk by, but not much, since some people on the football team are friends with the band.
Anyhow, we're rather respected since we do REALLY good shows. People scream for us when we come onto the field, and the home side of the stadium doesn't go anywhere until we leave. Nobody TOUCHES the band's seats either. It's great.... 4laugh

In our school, the band is pretty much ignored. It's the AC (Academic Challenge) class that gets the most insults, but the band people are jeered at too. And since three of my friends and I are all in both of those classes, we get the worst of both worlds. sweatdrop

Still, it's not as bad as what you get for your clothing style. (Apparently, I'm "Pippi Longstockings on crack." O_o; )

We've had a few, but not many since alot of people like us. biggrin When we usually get them I just sort of turn around flick them off and go back to what I was doing.

Yeah I hate that when people yell at you to be quiet and then turn around and start talking to their friends. It's like, first off you have no right to tell me what to do, and second your just a big hipacrit(spelled wrong.. opps!)

the most ive ever experienced was the rival school yelling at us when we took the field for our field show, and that was just plain funny.

our band isnt really made fun of by the other students at our school. u can't really make fun of one of us for being a band geek; in our band, theres the uber-band geeks and the ones who arent really dedicated, the ones there just because they want an easy grade. im in the uber-band geek category myself. biggrin but a few people have said something to the effect of, "man, youre such a band geek..." to which the standard band geek response is, "AND DAMN PROUD!!!"

We're in a college town with a pretty strong arts community so we dont usually get honks or anything like that. There's the occasional idiot highschooler but nothing really major.
