"Okay, so with this much...we need....divided by two..." Yami mumbled small snippets of words until she nodded and dug through the bag, pulling out a few coins and placing it on the table. "Throw in the same amount, and this'll cover it" she instructed her sister. Things were split in half, now that there was only two of them. That way, no one would get cheated, and no one would be forced to pay all. Things were shared between them, and it wasn't only secrets or food, responsibilities had to be shared as well.

Hikari nodded as though the motion was precudre, and for her, it was. She walked up to the counter and counted the coins that had been thrown down before pulling out her own coin purse from the chest of her dress where she had kept her card. Throwing down her own coins she watched as the shop keeper greedily scooped up the coins before she placed her bag back into her dress, her finger slipping over the card sending a weird sensation through her body.

Shurging off the feeling she quickly grabbed the food they had bought and handed some to Yami to carry before moving to the door. She smiled at how well they had done today before opening the said object and holding it open for her sister.

Ayira Moonflow

Ayria shook her head as she looked down at the now obviously frightened and put off girl. Why in Gods name did she even bother sometimes, it didn’t do anyone any good to help people in this town. She knew that, in fact she may know that better than most, but still she offered, even if it was rare. There was just something about this young one that reminded her of someone from her past, someone she couldn’t quite put her finger on…oh well.

It didn’t slip past her that the girls stomach rumbled with the sounds of hungry, that was a sound anyone who lived in Wynander knew from experience. Although she did pretend as though she didn’t hear it, it was not in her to be that kind and offer to buy the girl something, after all nothing in this world is free.

Taking a step back she raised her hands up to show she had no weapons and honestly meant no harm. “Alright popet, I was just offering.” She said in a hushed tone with hints of what might be kindness. “Listen though, if you do change your mind my name is Ayira. Go to The Red Rat in Kensington District, ask for Miss Ayira.” She said before bowing rather theatrically to the young thing and winking. With one last glance to make sure she didn’t change her mind Ayira turned and head back on her way, looking for new gentlemen and trying to push the image of the girl and baby out of her mind.

Making her way along the streets she cursed under her breath as it started to rain, “Perfect…that’s what I get for lending a hand to someone.” She muttered as she hurried to find somewhere to get out of the possible downpour that might follow. Ayira moved along the streets of her district, Kensington District trying to get quickly back to The Red Rat, giving up on finding anyone tonight. However in her rush she misplaced a step and fell hard to the ground, cutting open the flesh of her calf. “That’s just great, now what will I do…like I have money for a doctor or even know of where to find one.” She screamed in frustration, while trickles of water fell on her.

Rubido sighed, more amused then exasperated by the girl's question. "Never you mind. I have work to do and," He added, "I'm sure you do as well." Then, with a glance over his shoulder, he elaborated. "If you must talk to me, then you can either state your business or talk and move at the same time. And don't throw things. They get lost that way." Without waiting to see her reaction, Rubido strode off towards the other end of Kensington.
Emi didn't react to what he had said at all, rather just stood there. As she watched him walk the other way she felt a rain drop on her nose as it twiched. She looked up at the clouds and started to walk the same way as the man did. Keeping her hands in her jacket pocket, she slowly followed the man which ironically as Emi though was going in the same direction as her, she just wanted to get this business she had done and over with so she could go back to her shop and wait for the individual to arrive.

"Thanks" Yami said as she passed out and into the open. "Where to now Hikari? Shall we drop these off at home or shall we continue to move on?" she asked her sister, as she stood about a foot away from the door, so that she could easily hear her and Yami would not have to repeat herself and have others listen into to the conversation.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 25, 2006 6:52 pm

"Home. Definatly. We dont need these stolen. Then I would like to keep on walking if you dont mind?" A small blush passed over her face as she made the request. They didnt get out very often, so when she was allowed to, she wanted to make the best of it.

"Home it is, then back out" Yami said, a soft smile curling on her lips. She surely knew what her sister had intended...and she had to admit, they haven't had gone out like this occasionally, every once in a while would they take walks like this...so Yami pointed down the road they came. "This way" she said as she started heading down the road, going at a slow pace to make sure her sister was close behind.

Chiaku
"
When the ice had flaked off and appeared to be no more than water once more, Adlei sat back and looked at Feyd. "Unfortunately, even if we could afford such luxuries, I'm sure that it would cause trouble with those soldiers."

Shrugging Feyd replaced the goblets in the crate sliding the cover back on as Adlei spoke. Securing the lid with a slight thud he gave it a firm pat for good measure before turning back to the girl with a grin, “Failing to grow out of stories is one of the best results of the Awakening I’ve ever head. Of course, I still enjoy them myself, it’s part of my job.”

Returning to sit next to the two Feyd ‘s smile turned to a frown and there was regret in his voice, “Ah yes… the soldiers are our main patrons these days. They’re good enough and keep us fed but they scare the rest of the clientele.” He paused for a moment and made a face before leaning forwards to confide in Adlei, “They’re rowdy too, no respect for a good drama.”

Leaning back again Feyd seemed about to continue what was likely to be a long and colorful rant about the worthlessness of the Peace Enforcement as an audience, but he paused and blinked realizing with a start that a few staple items was sorely missing.

“You never did tell me your names or why you were on my roof.”

Nekura was in a meditative rest, one of many tricks he had picked up from his father. Resting when one can but needed to be awake and alert at a moments notice. He was like this for maybe half an hour. In his mind he was going through the lessons of subterfuge he learned from Cordain. He did this everytime he was in such a situation as to need to keep himself refreshed of such. He would need every last ounce of wit and every trick in his bag if he was to live in Wynander, the gates of hell itself.

Then he heard the scream of frustration. He looked out the window and down to the street below, "...Hmm..." he stood up and made his way out and down to where Ayira was. He knelt down in the doorway and looked out careful not to be seen. It was Ayira alone in the street, and he judged by the wound she would be fine for awhile.

He made his way out a window into an alleyway carefully and scouted the general area around Ayira in the alleys and such, making sure this was not a trick before he exited an alleyway on the otherside of Ayira. His steps carried him to where she was and he kneeled down, "...That's a nasty one...hmm...if you don't mind I think I will see about sewing that cut of yours up..."

Then emerald green eyes moved to Ayira's eyes as he cast her one of the kindest smiles in the world, "If you can not pay me in food, then I will simply hold you to owing me a favor....And I always collect on them." He stated. With that, he pulled out a strip of cloth and in quick movement, wrapped it and tied it down around Ayira's wound.

The next movement had her up in his arms and he was moving towards one of the abandoned buildings. Not the one he was going to call home, he would throw off anyone looking for him.

Easter watched the woman leave and started to speed walk towards the nearest neighborhood. Breathing with a small sigh of relief she started on a long and winding circular path back to her house to hopefully throw off anyone watching her.

'The Red Rat.' Was that a bar? Did they even have food in bars? She filed 'The Red Rat' away in her mind for possible future use. Perhaps Ayira did mean well. She didn't seem like she had an ulterior motive, but now a days you couldn't be too careful. When not even neighbors were trustworthy. The girl shuddered a bit at the word neighbors and carried on, shifting the infant to her other hip.

At long last the lonely brick of her street started to grow from the distance. "This is my home." She stated to the lump she was carrying as she stopped infront of the crumbling house. "And, I guess your's now too... " The block in which she lived was deserted, and well picked over. The small boy's eyes flitted from one side to the other taking in what he could see. The broken glass littered the burnt ground reinforcing the inhospitable image of the city.

Sprinkles started to fall on Easter's arms and she frowned as she made her way up the stairs as quickly as she could. The sprinkles were spattering the soot and it clung to the bottom of the girl's sandals. Once they were in her room she gingerly set the baby on her bed and collapsed unceremoniously on the floor.

Her arms ached and the rain felt so wonderful on her skin. How long had it been since it'd rained? But, as suddenly as they had come, the sprinkles left and her wishes of puddles were gone. Wishes... Desires? Surely Igor hadn't meant that this 'god' could make rain for little Easter.

She tried to keep her eyes shut as long as she could but she had a nagging feeling that someone was staring at her. She peeked open one eye and there he was. The baby with the red hair. And a small look of concern in his brow? With a small grunt she pulled herself to her knees and rested her chin on the edge of the bed. Her thumb reached out and rubbed off what few specks of water had attached themselves to his face and smoothed his hair like her mother used to do.

Mery stopped as she looked around, her stomach made its noises as she had tried to decide what it would be best for her to do. She'd rather not haggle for anything that she didn't have to. The merchants were greedy no matter what they sold to other it was usually not worth the items that they asked for. She did rather eat dead animals then deal with them.

She stepped out of the shadows and looked around, what is it that would make for an interesting event, some that would take away that hunger pain that would disappate after an event. She covered her eyes to the drips of the rain out of her eyes. She twisted her face as she looked up.

"Who would want this?" she shouted up at the sky as she tried to waver her hunger. It wasn't that she wasn't able to afford the food, she'd rather hold on to it for anything that would come up. If there was need of protector, she would have the item avaible. She clutched at her whip as she struggled with her thoughts.

Kismet Shahnaz stepped out of her humble abode, a former ticket stall in Wynander's Harbor, and took a deep breath. She loved being near the water. It was the only part of the city that seemed fresh to her, while the rest was cramped and stagnating. There was also the tiniest glimmer of a chance that the gates might open again, and if they did being at the Harbor was Kismet's best bet at finally leaving her poor excuse for a home.

But after almost eight years in the cramped shack, that reason was reduced to a mere fantasy. Still, Kismet enjoyed "living" in the Harbor, if one could call it living. At least there was a feeling of movement there. It was worth the long walk to work, even in the soft drizzle that she encountered. Shivering in the damp, she wrapped her robe-like covering over the fancier clothes she wore underneath. There was no use calling attention to herself, unless she wanted to be accosted or robbed. Better to make it to Kensington first, and grab a bite. After all, she didn't have to be at her place of business for some time.

Rising from where he had slumped on the floor, he smoothed the front of his shirt and turned towards the sound of footsteps.

"Good morning," he greeted when he had determined that the footsteps were close enough. "Mistress Shahnaz, I presume?"

At the sight of the odd man Kismet slowed her steady pace, a frown crossing her face. When he spoke it contorted into a scowl. It had been almost a year since she'd had a stalker, and that was a record. Pity to have it ruined. Especially by someone Kismet didn't recognize, either from the establishment or one of her private gigs. Furthermore he adressed her by her real name. Everyone in the district knew her as Charade.

"That's correct," she admitted warily. "May I help you?" The man didn't look like one of Sehket's goons, so it was possible he was just a stalker. If that was the case her best option would be to listen and try to make him think he got what he wanted. And if things went sour, there was still room to run.

Tapping his cane on the ground, he leaned forward and spoke to her quietly, as though he were about to tell her a secret. "We're waiting for you in the Velvet Room. You have an appointment to see Igor this morning. In about an hour, in fact. This is regarding that Tarot Card you received from the old fortune teller. Unfortunately, Igor has been terribly busy lately, so we need you to keep this appointment. It's very important."
