Hikaru screamed loudly as Tekishe went tumbling over the side of the cart, diving across Terry to look over the side. She reached her arm out desperately to try to catch her friend, nearly falling out of the car herself. The car rocked dangerously as this all happened, tossing Alex and Terry to and fro. When Hikaru noticed Tekishe being carried back up by his elemental servants, however, she sighed deeply, sort of collapsing across Alex and Terry and stretching out in relief.

"Whew... that was a close one..."

As Tekishe climbed back into the car, she reoriented herself to a sitting position, her heart thumping wildly.

Terry laughed at Tekishe. "Man! I really thought you were going to...man, you would have been a splat mark. Spush! Hehehehehe...oh," Terry wiped a tear from the corner of his eye while holding his side.

The conductor shouted up at the friend's basket. Something about damn kids and using powers on the rides. Terry leaned over and waved. "SORRY!" He yelled down to the conductor, who fumed and chomped on a cigar stuck between his lips.

"You should see that guy! Smoking more than his cigar. I hope we don't get kicked out." Terry continued snickering, occasionally bursting out into larger laughter as their car crested the top and began the long decent back down.

Hikaru smiled somewhat awkwardly at Tekishe at this, not quite thinking the situation really called for such theatrics. She placed a hand on his shoulder, helping him back up and into his seat.

"It's... okay! I'm fine! No problem! See!" sweatdrop

She made a muscle flexing pose with one arm, placing her other hand on the muscle and grinning.

"So, uh... let's just try to enjoy the rest of the ride, okay?" sweatdrop

Terry stopped laughing, calming down and lowering his head. Red splat. He could have been a red splat and... A shutter ran through Terry's body, and he shook himself out of his brooding. He sunk back in his seat, very glad Tekishe was alright and praying no one noticed how he'd handled the situation. Gulping he shook his head and sheepishly looked around.

"Yeah! Water rides!"

Hikaru pumped her fist in the air, smiling widely and beginning to bounce a little in her seat, causing the car to start shaking back and forth again.

"I sure hope we can find El soon, though... I don't want her to miss the carnival!"

She leaned back over to watch the scenes go by, looking around at all the fun things that were left to do. There was still so much, and they'd already been here for several hours! Every weekend should be carnival weekend!

"Yeah," Terry said forcing some enthusiasm into his voice. "Yeah, sounds good. We'll look for her while we head to the rides."

The ferris wheel rounded around and they were treated to a rather surly looking ride conductor, who'd chewed the end off his cigar while staring daggers at the kids in the basket. He pointed one heavy finger towards the ride exit and grunted and "Out," as they filed out of the car.

The cool air felt good against his cheeks. Ever since the laughing fit it had felt really cramped on the car, but now with everyone acting a little more relaxed he felt like he was outside again.

"I think the water rides are this way," Terry said, pointing to his left. "But maybe we should try the bumper cars or something? Huh? Or we could just walk around...on the ground...for a while." He tried to cater to Tekishe's liking, feeling slightly guilting for laughing at his peril.
