Name: Leonardo Van Gent
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Occupation: Captain, smuggler
Appearance: Tall, skinny, sickly looking. He always has a slight smile, as if he held a secret on his lips. He has deep blue eyes, blonde, rough, and curly hair, down to his shoulders, and he has large sideburns down his skinny face. His shoulders are unusually broad, and his magnificently masculine form is wrapped in Egyptian cotton undergarments, with crimson wool britches, and jacket(over a white cotton shirt). He looks a traditional ship captain, as he has a sword and carbine in his belt.
Weapons: A saber, used to knight his father. It is sharp, and was a treasure stolen from the queen. He also has a pistol, gilded with gold, and a strange image of Africa on the hilt.
Bio: His father was a general in the Grand British Navy, as he aspired to be. He was a great seadog, and with only his father, became the captain of a ship on a boat in the Royal Navy. His family carries a secret, and some sayhis pistol is the key, though most believe it is a myth that died with Leo's father. He has been struck with a mysterious disease that makes him sickly, and as he realized he would die, he retired from the Navy, brought his loyal crew to serve him, as he starts a business to occupy his little time left. It has been slightly successful, and he has become interested in smuggling of late. He had been struck with his disease, and as it was diagnosed that he would die in three months, it is amazing he has lived for three years.

Leonardo sat next to the navigator of his ship, on the deck. He had a glass of French wime in his left hand, held like a true aristocrat. He had a dark look in his eyes, as he looked out on the dark waves slapping against his boat. The moon shone, so lanterns were barely needed. He sighed inwardly. "You bloody idiot, where the 'ell are we?" He barked at the navigator, who, frantic not only to find where they were, but to please the capain, frantically poured over his map.

After several minutes, Leo became tired, and threw his navigation officer over the board. He bought him at a slave market in a small city in the east, and now his mindset of eastern navigators was highly lowered. He looked at the map, looked up, twisted his neck to see a certain star, and then smiled. They were just north of Amale, and would need to find a coast and follow it South to get to the closest port. He went to the wheel, and turned it 180 degrees, turning the boat South. He couldn't believe how bad that Navigator had been. They were within a day's trip of the Pirate capitol city of Hilt, and he had gotten them lost.

"Aye, if ye push a cart sideways too hard, it may tip over..Now, this time though conflict will be utterly unavoidable; see, again we're going to have to go interrogatin' fer answers-- cuz when me n' Andrea need to find something out, we just go out and find somebody that knows more than us, and we go an' ask them...Sometimes we ask pretty hard."

Robichaux smiled and took another swig from his mug before standing up. "Well, the night is young-- carpe noctem, eh? What shall we do tonight?"

((Sorry...I was planning on posting night before last..but I got kicked off.))
Chris watched all with interest, laughing when humor wsa called for, but instantly serious when it also was required.
Hilt sounded as though it would be one of the most intriguing places she'd seen in a while. It had been around for a while..and Chris remembered readin about it in books her brother had kept. She knew that he hadn't been planning the life of a pirate...far from it. He was much too patriotic sometimes. He'd been planning on besieging it when he finally captained his own ship in the navy. They'd actually planned the siege together...though Chris was pretty sure that the plan of "having a spy inside and then layering the walls with cannonballs" would do as much good as the ten-year-old twins had thought.

Chris looked down ruefully at her clothes, thinking of the lovely purse of gold hanging at her waist. Her clothes were probably a size or two too big..but they could be easily remedied at a tailor's.
"May I ask yer leave Capt'in? I mus' tend to mi-wardobe."

Robichaux nodded slowly "Aye, nothing worse than a lass uncomfy in her garbs-- let me go with ye, I know the way." Robichaux stood promptly and followed Chris, holding the door open for her to walk outside.

Leonardo docked in Indican. His sailors wanted some cheap ale and women, and he would not refuse them land leave with such an enormous amount of money soon to be in. He walked the streets, staring at the stars.

Chris nodded gratefully, exiting the building quickly. It only struck her once she was outside though what he had actually said.
"How'd ye know?" She turned back on the Captain. "That I be a lass..how'd ye know?"
She was sure that she hadn't purposefully given anything away..she'd never whined or complained as her sisters had at work they had to do..and she'd barely even blinked at the mapmaker's death.

Robichaux looked to Bristi silent for a moment before bursting out laughing, "Chris..After being at sea on a ship filled with 99% men, when a woman is in the vicinity? You can tell. Don't put yerself down fer it, but it's your voice-- your skin, your smell. A girl could wear a man's garbs, lower their voice, even throw themselves in mud- But I can tell." Robichaux winked and looked back to the streets, eventually he arrived at a tailor's and walking inside, a green clothed man cowered "Oh! Eh, what is it you want!?" Robichaux put his hands away from his belt "My good man just to get a crew member properly fitted into her clothes." Robichaux put two pieces of eight on the man's desk. "Si-sir? It's five pieces, you haven't paid the whole fee." Robichaux nodded,

"I know."

Chris sighed anyway...wondering how many of the others already knew as well. Then of course, she just straightened her shoulders and decided to Hades with it.
That of course made her smile. Her mother would've had a fit if Chris had ever said that back at her "christian" home. Chris could never understand how her mother could write "christian" into her reputation.

The tailor's coloring didn't suit the green very well, especially not when he paled at Robichaux's entrace.

Chris looked about the tailor's shop quickly. Though it appeared that his work was good, he obviously didn't have many customers, so she spoke up. She hadn't been planning on allowing the Captain to pay anyway, she still didn't believe she'd earned that fare quite yet.
"The rest shuld only be bestowed upon completion...that is, if ye do a good job. Only what ye d'serve an; all that."
No man would do a good job when under pressure..and the man seemed rabbitlike in his movements. Nevertheless, she followed him to the back and donned a simple long tunic while he stitched at her clothes. He did relax visibly though once he got started, his movements very quick and sure. A measure or two later, the once baggy outfit the recruiter had thrown at her was a comfortable fit, one she could move easily in.
Re-entering the front room in her "new" clothes, Chris nodded, satisfied at the vast improvements.
"You have done your work well tailor."
Having removed a few of the higher denomination coins from her purse when she changed, Chris shifted Robichuax's pieces to the side and laid her purse on the desk with a slight "c***k".
