Sunrise stifled a shaky sob as she started singing too, feeling more comforted than ever in her mother's arms.
"Broken sticks and broken stones
Will turn to dust just like our bones again today
I am broken down not good enough
The broken promises add up again today
Who's gonna break my fall when the spinning starts?
The colors bleed together and fade
Was it ever there at all?

"You just need to push on Sun. I'm only an owl, and a banned flight away." Emily laughed. "You're worth being grounded."
"Oh, and I'm not?" Austin looked offended. "You never fly over to my house."
"That's because you're never in dyer need of comfort because you're losing my mind." Emily just shook her head.
"I am so losing my mind. I'm losing my mind being seperated from you." Austin put on a very suductive voice.

"Okay, that's icky," Sunrise said with a small laugh, pulling away from Emily and wiping her eyes on her long lavender-coloured sleeve.

"What's icky?" Austin now turned to her with a smile.
"You." Emily replied simply before turning back to Sunrise. "Honestly Sun, you're worth be grounded, and my mum might even understand."

"Well you're the one getting suductive in detention." Emily laughed and sat down.

"Did someone call for a dashing young man with a sparkling personality, who enjoys long walks by the lake and observing the giant squid's mating habits?" a young man said as he swept into the room, his dark hair falling into his celery-green eyes. He noticed Sunrise and walked over abruptly.
"The name's Fate, Fate Montgomery," he said smoothly, flipping his hair out of his eyes, holding out his hand for Sunrise to shake.
Sunrise made no comment but an indistiguishable squeaking noise as she took Fate's hand carefully, unable to tear her eyes away from his handsome face. At the same time, she was quickly ridding her face of all traces of her previous tears with her other hand.
"You got a name, sweetheart?" Fate asked suavely, before raising an eyebrow inquiringly to her two friends.
Sunrise looked at Emily with alarm evident in her face. She couldn't even remember her name she was so nervous!

"That Fate, is beautiful and dateless." Austin smirked and wrapped his arm around Emily's waist before kissing her neck. "And this is Hot and Idiotic."
"Austin, that's mean." Emily smacked Austin's shoulder and turned to Fate. "That's my best friend Sunrise Addams, I'm Emily Wixom, and this idiot is Austin Lee.
"Sweet heart, I was just stating the facts." Austin put his cheek to hers and began nibbling on her ear.
Emily reached her mouth up and bit down hard on Austin's ear. "Ha."
"Ouch Emmy, that really hurt." Austin pulled back and rubbed his ear.

"Lovely," Fate said without even blinking at the odd sight. "Nice to meet you Austin, Emily...Sunrise."
Sunrise grinned idiotically.
"N-n-nice to m-meet you too...Fate." She said the last word so dreamily it was reminiscent of the historic Luna Lovegood herself.
"Well, I just came to give this memo to the Professor, but I would love to take you to the next Hogsmeade weekend," Fate said as though Sunrise hadn't stumbled over her words. He handed the Professor his scroll and walked out the door.
"Okay...bye..." Sunrise said, still in dream-land.

"Well it's good he only came to deliver a scroll." Emily laughed and moved over to Sunrise. "Trust me, detention is not a great place to meet guys."
"Hey, that's where we met." Austin smiled broadly.

"So what...did you see him?" Sunrise asked in a voice much higher than usual. "He's like a Greek God or something! And he's so...charming! Besides, he didn't come here because he was in trouble! He came to deliver a scroll," Sunrise finished dreamily, leaning her head on her hand.

Austin just laughed.
"That is good Sunrise, but I can still see it." Emily smiled and sat down so she could draw it out. "You become Mrs. Fate Montgomery, and you and Fate are sitting in the living room with your kids. You'll be the strict, "don't do that" mother, and Fate is the "Do what you want as long as you don't get hurt, you don't get caught, and your mother doesn't find out." Well, one of your kids turns to you and says, "Mum, how did you and Daddy meet?" That will just lead to complications because you'll have to say "In Detention." Then they'll tease Fate, and you'll have to say that you were the one in trouble, and he was just turning something in. That will lead to asking why you were in detention, which will lead to you saying how I lit Snapes hair on fire, and since I'll still be your best friend, they'll come to me, and I'll have to tell them all of the stupid things we've done together, and then my kids will hear about it, and tease me while they try to light Snape's head on fire themself." Emily smiled broadly at her analogy.

"Well there's one thing to look forward to," Sunrise said in a low voice as she leaned in toward Emily. "Snape'll probably be dead or retired by then!"
