I will have to disagree. Most fans I've met are fugly. Maybe it's just my area, but I'm telling ya this is just some freak fan guild of mutant smexyness!

Anywho, I thought the same thing as bk on the first picture. You remind me of your favorite.

...or possibly a pokemon mastah! XD

The only Yuugiou fans I've met in real life have been at conventions. gonk They weren't ugly though. Most Yuugiou fans are annoying and fangirlish, I think. They need to lay off the effing Pocky. mad

My eyes aren't broken but my ears are! gonk And I never noticed any specific type of look to YUU*GI*OU fans. We all seem to differ.

Well, I can stereo-type just about anything I put my mind to! surprised

It's like every person you meet at cons is on a sugar rush though! I have noticed that ygo fans are a lot more likely to never shut-up about the most miniscule boring details to support their.... theories compared to other fans though. Maybe it is the pocky?

I want to punch most YuGiOh fans in the face. xd

All/most my friends who like YuGiOh are good looking. Plus all of the people here have been too. I guess it's like Kitsune said.

YUU*GI*OU fans can be quite obnoxious but... at least we're not as bad as the Inu Yasha and Naruto fandoms! eek Oh, and Dragon Ball Z! Can't forget Dragon Ball Z!
PostPosted: Tue Nov 07, 2006 8:34 pm

I just think we are scary in a different way. But, ok, maybe not as bad the Narutards. We're still pretty high on the list of completely annoying I'd say.
It's like ygo fans take everything so personally. All the "He's mine & I'll cut you" claiming, and the brutal noob eradications. gonk
I'm telling ya, as far as gatherings of ygo fans go, this is one of the nicest, close to sane places I've ever found!

I haven't even been flamed for my ignorance. =D

I used to be a fangirl, though I wasn't one of the ones who was hyped up on Japanese snacks and Ramen 99% of the time. I was just crazy. Crazy as in, "Oh-my-god-you-need-serious-therapy" crazy.

._. I've seen the light and will never go back to that dark, dark place.

I do have to admit that I've wanted to punch several Yuugiou fans before too. Not so much the annoying ones, but the obnoxious ones. Obnoxious people really piss me off. I have a bad temper too, which doesn't help at all. gonk

BK a fangirl? xd I'm trying really hard to imagine that, but my mind simply will not allow such thinking. It does not compute!

I was at least a quiet noob, and kept my fangirlishness to myself! I can't stand the kids that just won't shut-up about how much they think they know. =( Especially when they've only taken an interest in it like just a few months before, and think they are some kind of magical knowledge-spewing experts.

But those people are usually attacked enough by the elitists once they get on message boards like these that I don't bother with them. talk2hand

I think at one point the majority of us were fangirls. I admit, back in like fourth-to-sixth grade I was a big Brock fangirl from Pokemon. XD And for my first year of getting into YUU*GI*OU, I was a bit of a Jounouchi fangirl. It's just an immature "anime beginner" stage that so many go through, though quite a few never get out of it. eek
PostPosted: Thu Nov 09, 2006 12:32 pm

Yeah, you have to go through that stage to progress unfortunately. It's a fascinating process, but I'm still not quite understanding it. What triggers the end of fangirlism and your rise up the anime fan food chain?

At first I thought it was exsposure to more mature anime, but that can also lead to simple yaoi fangirlism or the know-it-all-stage. confused

Anyway, I remember those years too. I was more of a Kaiba fangirl in 7th/8th grade. We had the same voice-actor. X3

But I think that was mostly because I'm a gold-digger.

I don't think I was ever a fangirl. I used to be obsessed with DBZ, but I never liked any guy character.

Yeah, I think I got out of being a fangirl... holy schnap, I have no idea how! :O I guess when I got more into YUU*GI*OU and less into Pokemon I switched from Brock to Jounouchi, but it hadn't gotten into a full-fledged fangirlism before I caught onto shounen ai. (I never really had gotten horribly obsessed with Brock either; at least not like the psycho ones who are like, "Mine!) Actualy, I remember once my friend Megan and I were playing in the pool that we were in the Pokemon world and Megan said she would be James' girlfriend then I said I would be Brock's (gosh I really hate to admit something so pathetic...) but then she said she liked Brock too. I told her that she already liked James and she asked why she couldn't like both. So we got into a "fight" over Brock, basically pretending to be fangirls who fought over him even though we weren't actually mad at eachother. Then at the end we had our fangirl characters ask why they couldn't be friends and had to fight, so the two of us ended up linking arms and skipping down the pool singing, "Why can't we be friends? Why can't we be friends?" My sister and her sister who were also in the pool looked at us like O_o WTF? XD Anyway, back on topic, I discovered a Puppyshipping fanfic, and it made me realize it was much more fun to imagine characters with eachother instead of with myself. Now I really think imagining a character with yourself is just plain creapy and I don't know why I did it.

Lol, that's funny.(about the fangirl story) Yes, character + character = yayness! It's kind of self-centered to claim characters. o_o Who is to say that if the character was real that they would even like you? : O
PostPosted: Sat Nov 11, 2006 4:29 pm

I know. XD It's especially funny with the Kaiba Mary Sues. Kaiba would hate any girl who was all into him like that. Oh, random note of happiness! I got my scanner working today! I was filling out to be an organ doner when my mom suddenly noticed that one of the cables wasn't plugged into the scanner. (I had asked her to try reinstalling it but she said she couldn't get it to work so we had given up, thinking it was broken) We found the plug, trapped between the computer desk and the wall and spent like ten minutes trying to get it untrapped. XD;; Then we hooked it all up properly and I installed it. After much retardation (about half an hour's worth; our scanner is like five years older than our computer so...) I finally got it to work, then tested it. While the image quality isn't great, it works! Gah, I'm just so excited! whee Forgive my rant bitte!

@Cara: A lot of my Yuugiou liking friends have supposed 'split personalities'. It's ironic that they realize they have a "yami", as they call it, after getting into Yuugiou.

@Kitsune: Yay, that's so awesome. I'm glad you got the scanner up and running. Huzzah at convenience.
