Leshya'e nodded and remained quite silent as Silver left the room they were sharing. "Family..." She sighed, yet another thing added on to weigh down her saddened heart, "I wonder where mine is now...what my baby sister's look like..." She shrugged and turned to her daughter, reclining ever so slightly and propping her head on her hand, watching Ani as she slept. "Please get well..."

((oooo that looks pretty!))

Heather took it and tilted her head slightly. Her litle bird perching on her head seeming cautious. Heather was also cautious a little but it looked so lovely. She looked it over throughly and then turned to Pan, her face beaming, before looking back to the other, "Thank you! I am going to have to ask Val if she knows anything about this!" She smiled, bowed her head and pocketed the vial in a sash she had around her waste.

Oqaia
((For Mitexi smile )

Feiro bounded into the main courtyard- or, at least, as well as he COULD bound at his age. Finally, he stopped short of the great statue that waited there. He had heard the whistle of his master- calling him home. The rabbit was forgotten as he dropped it, and followed the whistle.

Mitexi's rabbit, in the meantime, fell into a hole at the base of the statue- just where it met the cobblestones. Only a faded ear stuck out- the rest was tucked into the hole like... well... a rabbit in its warren. However- there was something else in the hole that anyone who reached into it might feel. A small, brown bag.

((You can't rp what's in the bag. 'Cause you don't know yet! Just whether you take it or not. ^_^))

Mitexi lets out another horrified honk, flapping a few feet in the air in a last attempt to catch up. A couple brown feathers fall loose in her distress, especially after her precious ragdoll rabbit is discarded.

"Mitexi!" shouts Yuka, her fluffy tail batting wildly side to side as she chases both her companion and whomever she is pursuing. "You silly duck, where are you going?!"

She loses immediate sight of the Fortunette duckling. Her sandals skid against the cobblestone as she halts abruptly, looking left and right for where it is probable that the chase turned. The loud honk becomes her best indicator, and she chooses the direction to her left.

Mitexi too lands hard against the cobblestone, though unlike Yuka she has no shoes to protect her thinly webbed feet. She doesn't care, and if she does, it doesn't matter. Waddling at a ferocious speed, the duck honks another time at the retreating dog before squatting down beside the ear of her Bunny.

Yuka has no difficulty catching up, now that the chase has died off and taken a more solemn turn. Her eyes dart around the statue until they catch on the feathered bundle crouched so close to the ground. Joining at a kneel, the anthro gypsy brings a hand gently to the underside of Mitexi's bill.

With a pant on her voice, Yuka beings to speak. "Silly child," she says softly, her accent thick and her compassion evident. Mitexi honks lowly, and Yuka swears that for a moment she can actually see the duckling's look of hurt in her black eyes. "What troubles you?"

Mitexi thrusts her beak away from Yuka's tender touch and wildly flaps her wings. Yuka is taken aback, but only for a second, as these sorts of fits are quite common in their caravan.

And then Yuka sees it, the ear sticking out from a crack alongside the statue. It seems near impossible that the rabbit, however unfluffed and torn, could have fit inside such a hole during the pursuit, but she brushes this thought aside. Sliding her small hands in what little space there is, she performs a strange finger wiggling technique to free the rabbit.

Something the touched her hand, though, and without a second thought she retrieves it, too. While Mitexi rejoices by rubbing her feathered body all over the filthy ragdoll rabbit, Yuka examines the paperbag package, pushing it between both of her hands without opening it.

"Hmm," she murmurs softly, her now-offwhite fingers curling around the opening.

"Lordy," murmurs Caroline, exiting the bakery after chatting with the lovely baker for a while when Ani and Lesh had left. She'd bought a nut pastry for Rojiza and a croissant for herself, and had paid the baker generously for her kindness and for the trouble. "Where to next, querida?" she asks, looking at Ro.
Rojiza shrugs. She really had nowhere she really desired to go. She'd rather be spontaneous and see where the path takes them. She shifts the sack on her back, smiling as she hears the metallic clinking of the coins on her skirt.

"Excuse me..." A good minute had gone by before Marissa spoke. When she finally did, the small boy before her yelped and scrambled backwards. Marissa put Kale down and knelt. Her heart panged at the piteous figure. "Oh, I'm sorry, did I scare you?" she asked gently to the boy, who seemed to have calmed down some. He wiped his eyes hastily with his sleeve, his chest still heaving from the fight.

"Ma'am...'scuse me...please don't pay me no mind, ma'am..." The child shook his head, and his jet hair fell into his face. While he backed up, the item he had been guarding was revealed.

It was a plant. Marissa noticed it was a carbon copy of the vine trailing along the cave wall, in shrub form. Small, deep green with bright red buds, it was obviously well-cared for. Marissa crept forward and touched it. Kale grasped her skirts and stared at the boy, who avoided his gaze.

"Well, isn't this lovely...lad, why the tears?" She spoke softly so not to make him anxious. The boy sniffed. "I wasn't cryin'..." he muttered, but when he saw the woman touch the flower, he bounded forward. "Dun touch it!" He cried, so that Marissa's hand jerked back. "I mean...um, 'scuse me...ma'am..." He seemed pained as he restrained himself. Marissa noted the apparent importance the plant had to the child.

"What's your name, lad? And what's this flower's bond with you that makes it worth a batch of tears?"

After a bout of grudging silence, he spoke. "Conner's m'name," he muttered, "And that plant...I've been raisin' it since two ye'rs ago, I have..."

Marissa smiled. "And very well, too," she said kindly. Conner glanced at her, and seemed more willing to speak. "I found it m'self. Noone believes me that it's here...says nothing grows in this mine, says it's got poison soil..." His brow furrowed. "But they lyin'! See? I got my flow'r, right here! And it's a dandy one, too...pretty as can be, and smells lovely...and very good at taking trimming...a bit small, maybe, but s'nothing wrong with 'er..."

As the boy talked, Marissa recognized herself in the child. He had a passion in the earth as she did, even if he didn't realize it yet. Conner continued: "But...now...we're g-goin' away...moving away..." His voice wavered and the tears flowed again, down his messy cheeks. "Aannd...I won' be here to care for 'er...noone will...she'll die, I know it..!" He sobbed, fingering his precious plant gently.

((Miss, I'd jump in, but you seem to have it well under control. That, and I'm cuuurious. XD

For Quiet: smile )

If Yuka were to open the bag, she would find... 50 gold couplets, covered in dust. They seem to have been there a while. Pinned to the inside of the bag is a note, as well.

"I'm sorry for taking them. Oh, horrors. I didn't mean to be such an evil man. I relinquish them."

Mitexi honks suddenly, causing Yuka to jump. Her knee knocks the bag and though her fingers slide away from the opening, the contents jingle together and reveal what's inside.

"Huh?" she murmurs, holding a coin in her hand. She rubs it with her thumb, and a layer of grime coats her white fur. She squints and takes her time to read the note, but this only ends in confusion. "How strange," she concludes, eying the contents.

Beside her, another ruffle of feathers from Mitexi alerts her readiness to leave. Treasure smeasure, so long as her Bunny is back. Yuka tosses her a distracted glance before standing up at her full height, pocketing the bag of couplets.

"Do not run off on me again," she warns in her best parenting voice. Mitexi makes a sound that is almost a scoff. "It seems we have some luck today, for now we have more couplets to aid our journey."

She can't rid the thought, though, of that note and what it had said.

[Nah, don't worry 'bout it Oq-doll, it's just me being silly. blaugh ]

The gypsy's heart wrenched with sorrow for Conner. She knew his feelings, his pain. Leaving a treasured plant behind was much like leaving an old friend; she'd done it many-a-time herself, being who she was, a traveller. She sat in silence for a moment, letting the boy cry himself calm. When he had quieted some, she scooted closer and put her hand on his shoulder.

"Well, Conner, that is a worthy predicament. But, let me see. I may have a bitty solution that could ease some of the hurt." Conner stopped sniffling, attentive.

"How would you feel if...Kale and I helped you get this lovely flower out of the mine, and you took it with you?" Marissa smiled hopefully, but the boy only hiccuped a fresh set of sobs. "Can't," he said woefully, "Pa n' Ma won' let me care for plants. They seen how good I am at it, and they think it's not natural. Pa just wants me to blacksmith, like him." He coughed through his tears.

Marissa's face fell. She was silent, when another idea struck her. "Well, I'm a bit of a green thumb myself," she said with a smile, "I know a pretty couplet about caring for plants. Why don't...I take the plant and care for her for you?"

Silver left the room and went downstairs, carrying Aisrhan on her hip and Khevashi on the opposite shoulder. She stopped at the dining room and spied a plump, elderly woman wiping down a table and retrieving a mug that probably once contained ale. "Miss Thelvy?" Silver began to cross the room toward the woman. Thelvia Gjerhvayne stood and turned, smiling. "How can I help ye lass? Can I ge- Oh my goodness..." Her words trailed off and the woman's eyes widened as she realized who had spoken to her. "Little Ayen Frilande? Is that you? Phralik told me ye were here, but I told him I wouldn't believe it until I saw ye meself. It's been five years now, hasn't it? But you'll be joinin' us fer dinner, so we can do some catchin' up then, right dear?" the woman rambled. She stopped long enough to reach over and give Silver a giant hug.
Silver almost winced when the woman called her "Little Ayen Frilande". Miss Thelvy had always called her little, even after she wasn't. Silver smiled apologetically in advance and returned the hug. "That's what I wanted to talk to you about... I'm going to visit my parents this evening and I don't know how soon I'll be back, especially so since I've not seen them in so long. I was wondering if you might tell Mr. Phralik for me? And we could possibly reschedule for tomorrow evening?"
Mrs. Gjerhvayne almost looked hurt. For a moment Silver thought she was upset with her for cancelling on them at such short notice, but Thelvia's look became stern and she eyed Silver menacingly. "Have I taught ye no better, child?" Silver instantly became confused. She felt ten years old all over again and she was getting yelled at for breaking the fence behind the inn and letting the guests' horses out. "You've been here all this time and not seen yer own flesh and blood yet?! Get out of my inn and don't come back until you've seen yer folks! Ya hear?"
Silver's eyes widened and she took a step back without realizing it. Suddenly, Miss Thelvy errupted in laughter and Silver blinked. Wait... Then Silver once again realized that she was 23 and Miss Thelvy had just told her to go see her parents, essentially ordering her not to even worry about dinner. "Yes ma'am," she said, faking the voice of a child who'd just been scolded. Miss Thelvy smiled and shooed her out the door. Aisrhan and Khevashi were bewildered. One minute the woman was yelling at their mother and the next they were hugging again. They both hoped all of the adults weren't so crazy as Mrs. Gjerhvayne.

Silver went outside and walked over to the paddock containing the animals. She whistled. Vakejo trotted over and she opened the gate to let him out. "Let's go, boy. We're going to visit my parents." Vakejo nickered and nipped playfully at Silver's outstretched hand. She smiled. "I'll give you a treat when we get there, I promise."
Vakejo shook his mane and lowered himself down on one knee so Silver could hoist Aisrhan onto his back. "Mommy...?" Aisrhan was worried. She hissed as her mother lifted her onto Vakejo's back. She'd never ridden a horse before! Vakejo and Kesali had always been in front of the wagon - and surely her mother wasn't going to make her ride alone??? She wrapped her long tail around Vakejo's neck and sat pretty much straight forward, holding on to his mane for dear life. Much to her relief, however, Vakejo stood up after she was situated and her mother climbed on behind her, putting an arm around her waist. "Nothing to worry about, dear. Vakejo will take good care of you." Silver chuckled as the color returned to Aisrhan's knuckles and her face turned beet red. Scared? She wasn't scared. Nah.

((Mene: Just gimme a lil' somethin'- like, head towards somewhere in town, of have Ro think of somewhere to go. I'll manipulate it from there. ^_^ I would base something off an object you have from trade, or a Banya fortune- but neither of those work for you right now... *coughs suspiciously*

@Silvy: S'alright. I just need you to get to your parents house and interact a little before I intervene. ^__^))

|O_O Oh Lordy. xD|
Rojiza, while looking around for someplace to go, spots a dragonfly buzzing by. Easily distracted as ever, she follows it, running after the iridescent blue and green creature.
Before Caroline could marvel at a dragonfly in the..mountains? Rojiza had run off. "Rojiza!" she says, exasperated, and runs after her.

The dragonfly zoomed down the cobbled streets, into the residential part of town. It flew through a wide hole in an old iron fence... and into a backyard otherwise hidden from view from the street. This was its home- a silvery green pond in this hidden little cove.

Ayeth had just come from the back of the stables, a horseblanket thrown over his shoulder, when he saw the young woman coming, a vivid blue horse at her heed. He blinked his eyes, surprised but not shocked- for this world was a magic one, and his town had seen its fair share of travellers with wonderful things.

"Aya! Welcome," he greeted, coming forth, smiling a grin with the confidence an attractive man always possessed.
