Continuing to feel sheepish and speechless, Fate nodded. She was still amazed by the place. As the waiter guided them, she took her time to see everything. "Wow..a gorgeous view tonight." Noticing Silver, she grinned. "Thank you." She sat lightly and crossed her legs.

I walked around the table and sat down. When she mentioned the view, I glanced outside. All of the lights of New York shimmered in the light of the moon and created a kaleidoscope effect. "Yeah...its beautiful. I guess tonights special." I turned as the waiter brought the menus.

Fate turned to the waiter. Nodding to him, she took the menu into her hands and opened it slowly. "I suppose so.." ..I would hope it is. Feeling slightly akward, she hid behind the book of selections for a few moments, halfway decideing on what she'd have.

I was also feeling a little awkward, but I was able to hide it from my face. I looked over the menu and decided to have something italian. After a moment the waiter came back and asked what we wanted. Glancing at the menu again, "I'll have the spiedino alla romana. What would you like, Fate?" I set the menu down and turned my gaze on her.

Fate quietly placed the menu onto the table and looked in the waiter's direction. "I believe I'll take the six ounce steak, rare, and a baked potato. As for a drink, I would like a light shampagin. Not too dry, if you will." Her eyes glinted slightly and she bit her lip softly. When the waiter was gone, Fate folded her hands ontop of the table and turned her gaze to them.

(I gotta go. And I have a tennis tournament all of tomorrow so... sweatdrop sorry about that.)
When I heard Fate's order, I raised an eyebrow. "Not branching out on your taste of food I see." I chuckled. "Fine by me. Though could you have gotten something besides the stereotypical food? I have to admit, it would be worse if I ordered that. Now I understand where stereotypes come from." I continued to point my glance and Fate, wanting her to look up from examining her fingernails. I could tell that she was nervous, but I didn't understand why. "Fate, is something wrong?"

Fate sighed at the sudden lecture. "I just.." "You don't.." "Why would it.." She couldn't get a word in edgewise. Looking up, she gave him a soft, saddened look. "I just didn't want you to pay a great deal..Gomen." Her voice was soft and low, as that of a child. "No Silver, nothing is wrong." Her eyes twinkled beneath the lighting. "Things are wonderful." Her gaze was distant, but Fate was there. She rapped her nails gently onto the table. "Would you like me to reorder?" Fate had grown up on the oriental type of food, mostly raw. American food didn't come that way often, and she was experimenting. Fresh human did tend get old.

(Taking it seriously or what? xd Wish me luck on my tennis tournament today!)
I could tell I had upset her. "Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude." I looked down. "I was just kidding." Now I felt bad for what I had said. Stupid, stupid idiot! Why did you have to go and say all of those things to her?! "No, don't reorder....its fine. Just forget what I said. Here comes our food anyways." I saw the waiter coming with the food, which was a relief because I was completely embarrassed now. The waiter set the food down in front of us.

Fate nodded. She didn't fully understand the term, 'kidding'. "It's alright." A slightly quizzical look lingered on her face for a moment. "Ah, so he is." She smiled at the waiter as he set her plate in front of her. "Thank you." Fate reached across the table and patted Silver's hand. "Don't worry about it. I'm fine, sugoi." She smiled as she had when they first entered and settled back to enjoy her meal.

(Well...I got to the consolation finals...but then I lost...so basically I got fourth place..which is still pretty good. 3nodding )
I nodded, but I was still hating myself for what I had said. Oh god, I hope I haven't messed up the entire night with my stupid mouth. I made my face stay neutral though, not wanting to give anything away. It was at this point I remembered that she could read minds. Ack... I quickly set up a barrier in my mind. Not an offensive one, but one that stated I wanted some privacy. I picked up my fork and moved my food a little on the plate. I came to a consensus in my mind and l looked up at her. "Listen...Fate, i'm really sorry. I shouldn't have said those things. That was really rude of me." I was really embarrassed now aand it showed a little on my face.
It was at this point that an explosion rocked the building's foundations. A few of the windows shattered under the force of the shock waves. "What the? Whats going on here!?" I looked out the window and I saw an orange glow coming from the docks. It distinctly looked like flames. "Oh god...thats the Glacier!" I stood up. "Dusk!" I turned to Fate, knowing that our evening was ruined. Police sirens started to howl through the night. Anguish was on my face, as I was caught in an indecisive moment. "Fate...I have to see if their alright...i'm sorry, but I have to!" Even with not wanting to get involved in the war that was coming, I still had some loyalty to the pack and I wanted to know if Dusk was alive or not. He was the elder and had become a friend, along with the others.

Fate grinned slightly, staring into her plate. "Don't worry, I do not read minds of those who do not wish it, or I do not feel it necessary." Cutting into her steak delicately, Fate turned her gaze to her dearest. "Silver, say no more. It's perfectly fine. I just..don't know how to take a..'kidding', I suppose. It is no problem." Her face held a small brightness to it. Smiling, she sent him a mental embrace along with a small kiss.
This was abruptly interrupted by the sudden turn of events. Fate hissed accordingly, jumping from her chair and backing away from the walls and windows. "It is the Glacier.." She scowled and turned to Silver. The night was ruined, but what could anyone do? "Be away with you then. Honor your loyalties." She turned her back away from everything. "Call if you need me.." She pulled on her coat, tieing it snug. ..Or not. With that, she disappeared.

Her words helped me make a decision on my indecisiveness. "Thank you, Fate. I'll be back soon." When she dissapeared, I turned around and ran from the restaurant. Most of the people there were still on the floor, confused as to what was happening. One of the waiters tried to stop me though and I backhanded him, which sent him flying across the room. As I ran out to the street, several police cars drove past and I assumed they were going to the docks. This could definately become a problem. I recessed into the shadows next to the restaurant and changed. When the act was done, I leapt on top of the building and bounded over the rooftops towards the Glacier.

Aislann whistled low. "Damn brother, this place is nice." He said, in thought-speak though. Dae was sticking closer to him then white on rice and she was now holding onto his arm. She looked looked happier now that he apologized to her. Dessik was on his left and Taish was on the right of Dae. Everyone was dressed well, or better yet, better than what they usually go out in.

"Well, then, brother, you will be flat broke by the time I'm done because I am starving." He laughed, until he heard a familiar beep in his head. Etinenne had sent him a message. When he was done reading it, his jaw dropped.
"Guys, Far Reach is here." He said to them. What was she doing here? He thought she didn't want to see them again. She had said as much last time they met up.
