oh!! I thought you meant all otherkin in general xp

Yeah sure... I'll talk about all the types I know...

Starting from the bottom, but not necessarily going up.

Nephilim, half angels created either with a human or not, they're like... non-white non-christian people in the 1850's in america.
Forsaken; Seraphim who highly betray the big G and stand against him.
Fallen angels; break an angelic law or two and are sent to earth for atonement.
Guardian angels; they help, serve, and protect humans or other angels. Some people consider spirit guides to be guardian angels. I'm not sure though. Some guardian angels are incarnate into human form.
Messenger angels; sent to pretty much live a human life and learn from the humans themselves.
Cherupim; second highest ranking angel.
Seraphigm; highest known rank of angel known to humans, they don't exactly incarnate into physical form really...
Angel; just all angels in general. They have wings, often have alighter aura and if they're not fallen, forsaken, or nephilim often have a need to help others and go against their will to help people, then enjoy it. They're beliefs often stand for the betterment of mankind and they can't seem to will themselves to hurt others often, they feel crushed on the inside when they do.

If I'm not mistaken; I am half angel. I can remember my death... wings being torn off by the other angels. mrgreen They called me impure, so I said "I am not impure, I am whole" as my last words, in angelic.

There is probably a lot more angelic ranks I either don't know about or am forgetting... Nephilim weren't allowed in the angelic realm back then sweatdrop

Oh, and also; a key trait for almost all angels is an intense pride. A lot of angels feel pride in themselves or their beliefs and refuse to feel otherwise. Some angels learn to deal with their pride and admit they're wrong, not that much though.

This is all from personal experience from most of my angelic friends. I could be wrong though sweatdrop

oh well that didn't help me as much as I had hoped for.

Wingmakers is a bit fluffy in my eyes... Claiming they're all powerful divine beings. Right... stare

Maybe I should search for a name myself.. maybe no one ever gave us a name before so finding such a name would lead nowhere..

*waves* Resident Nephilim, here. *smiles*

As far as the orders of angels, it really depends on whose mythos you're using. Christians believe one thing. Jews believe another, and Muslims believe yet another. Then, of course, there's Kabbalistic view, as well as Gnostic views and even Zoroastrians have an opinion.

I actually only 'awakened' recently. What I mean is, I've always known I wasn't human, and I know I was sent here to do something. I have memories of flying, and of protecting people. What's weird though is at times I thought I was an angel, but then at the same time felt I wasn't worthy of being an angel. Confusing, huh?

And sometimes... sometimes I hear this voice, and it gives me instructions. As long as I follow them exactly, whatever I'm trying to do works perfectly.

I should probably mention I'm new at all this, and everything I've ever done has been an accident or because I was desperate.

Who I am, it matters not. It is that I am, that impacts the places around me.

Reminded me of one of my favorite quotes.

"You have failed to understand. It is not who are you? -- but are you?
- Timothy Findley, "Headhunter"

Pageantry
Zero

God lied about many things.

Why does everyone believe human based books on angels and such?
Raziel is not an Angel he is the same type of being as God. And that Raziel is a false angel made up by the same person who made the book of Raziel which was the spell book for christians.

Christian spellbook? But, I thought that they would be anti-magick because they tend to label Wiccans and Pagans as "Devil worshippers".

As for why we "believe human based books on angels and such"? I do because I have nothing else to go by. Last I checked, the angels themselves didn't write any books, and if they did impart the knowledge of the heavens to the people through literature, wouldn't the unforgiving God you speak of smite them and destroy the tome? So, my question is, if we are not to believe these "human based books written by humans" (which would include the Bible and every other religious writing or even every other human written text which so much as mentions angels, by the way) what are we to believe? What else do we have to go by?

I wanted to read all the pages, but I made it to page 3 and saw this post. I'm an avid reader of Konstantinos. In his book "Summoning Spirits: The Art of Magical Evocation" he talks about the story of "Faustus" or "Dr. Faustus". There are many versions of the tale. In one, Faustus summons the demon mephisto to teach him the secrets of the world, how to fly, magical knowledge, etc. But the demon gets to collect his soul in 25 years. He doesn't believe in hell or damnation, but continues with the agreement. Summons the spirit of hellen of troy, falls in love, and at the end of the 25 years, the demon comes and takes his soul, and his body is mangled and torn.

The other version is the demon made a bet with god that any good man could be turned bad, or fall to temptation. Well, he continued to learn magical arts, was starting to fall, and as it appeared that mephisto would win the bet, faustus fell in love with a woman, and repented of his ways, using his magic for good, etc, and ascended into heaven. This angered mephisto. But there are other versions as well. The version of the deal he made with Mephisto is the version the vatican used. They used it as a basis for an anti-magic policy. That's why you won't hear christians talking about angelic magic, or angelic evocation, they just don't want to talk about it. Not all magic is bad, but they just have an anti-magic views.

Angel.

It's the paradox of being, and yet being too humble to believe oneself worthy of being. I see what you right and believe in angels.
