He looks in the mirror to check if they're on properly, gripping his palms to test the pressure. He picks out a beat-up-looking dummy, getting in position to strike. As he throws off a few punches, he focuses on his form, keeping his arms straight and applying his weight behind each hit. After a few warm-up hits, Reed takes a deep breath, preparing for a stronger blow. His speed grows, each strike stronger than the last until he reaches a steady flow. After a few minutes of powerful strikes, Reed slows his pace and comes to a stop. "Not bad!" Sanna encourages him "You ready for a sparring match?" Reed looks at him confusedly "What do you mean?" he questions him. Sanna tosses him a sparring staff "We fight on the beam." He points to a balancing board above a mat. "First one to fall loses!" he taunts as they excitedly rush over to the beam.
Reed climbs up, steadying his balance carefully, focusing chakra in his feet to give him stability. He twirls his staff around his shoulders, relaxing his arms to allow flexible agility and quick reaction. Bending into a slight crouch to brace himself, he prepares for battle "You ready?" he asks. Sanna nods his head "Yep." he confirms, grinning. They both swing their batons, clashing in the center of the beam. Reed jumps back, poising himself for a lunge. He pounces forward at Sanna, lowering his staff from above his head, striking downwards. Sanna leans back, rotating his staff horizontally to shield against Reed's attack. As their weapons collide, Sanna swings his arm over to his side, pushing Reed away with his staff. With enough leverage, he's able to throw Reed off of him and onto the mat below. Reed falls with a soft thud onto his back. "Oof" He winces "That was rough." He slowly picks himself up from the mat "Good match." Sanna says as he reaches out to help him get up "Thank you." Reed replies, still a bit out of breath. "Maybe next time." Sanna teases. Reed chuckles, rolling his eyes "Yeah." he says sarcastically with a laugh. "Here, take a snack, I have plenty." Sanna hands him a bag filled with dried fruit and seeds "It's important to have protein when you train." Reed smiles, taking the bag from him "Awesome, I appreciate it!" He pours a handful of the snack mix into his palm and throws it into his mouth. As he chews, he mumbles in between bites "Let's go get some water, too." Walking out of the gymnasium, Sanna takes the lead "I can show you where the water hole is." he says as they make their way through the hallways to the back exit.
Behind the Academy, they find a large field with several gardens and lots of maintenance equipment. There are also different trails through a wooded area further back. By the doorway is a large pond with an automated natural water filtration system in place that allows the water to flow through the filters and into a collection bay where it can easily be used to fill containers for drinking, watering plants, or cooking. "Wow, this is so cool!" Reed gushes, appreciating all of the various unique plant forms. "You guys have so many rare plants here. I've never seen these before." He walks over to a nearby garden area, kneeling down to get a closer look.

There are new types of plants all around here. There's so much to take in that Reed decides to take a break and explore the area behind the Academy. "I'm gonna go for a walk," he tells Sanna "I gotta check out this garden before I leave." Making his way back to the trails now, he starts heading down a dirt path cutting through the tall trees behind the field. He takes a drink of the fresh water in his canteen and breathes in the sweet scent of flowers around him. Letting out a sigh he revels in the joy of his experience "This place is great. It's so beautiful here." A tinge of guilt hits him, remembering his family back home, he laments "I do miss Hidden Stone Village though." As he continues to walk through the trees, he thinks about how this path is similar in a way to his path as a shinobi. Everything around him is unfamiliar, and he misses what he knows, but he's chosen to keep moving forward through the doubt. Feeling revitalized, he smiles brightly, a warmth flushing over him. He feels comforted knowing that he's trusting in himself.
Eventually he comes to a clearing. Reaching out to the horizon before him stands a field of bright sunflowers. Overjoyed to see the display of colorful plants, he runs out into the field, skipping, twirling, and frolicking through all the flowers. He falls softly to the ground, giggling foolishly. Looking up at the sky, he thinks about how grateful he feels to have a loving family and be chosen by destiny to be in the Taiyou clan. Everything has led him here, and he's decidedly in a really good place. Slowly he picks himself up off the ground. As he heads back to the dirt path, he sees Sanna's blonde hair moving closer through the trees. "Hey Reed! I see you found the Taiyou sunflowers, they're all over the village. We use these in our meditations, they help us channel solar energy for our sun jutsu. I'll show you after we finish training. You coming back?" he questions him. Surprised to see him, Reed rushes over bashfully. "Oh, hey Sanna. Yeah, they're pretty cool. I guess I got distracted. We can head back now." he downplays his passion for the plants to lessen his embarrassment. "Do you know any other jutsu you can show me?" he asks. "Actually, there is one thing we can do here." Sanna says excitedly. He walks into the field, picking a spot surrounded by flowers. He sits on the ground and folds his legs over, calling over his companion "Come over here, let's practice a solar meditation." Reed follows, walking over and sitting next to Sanna, he continues "You won't be able to cast any jutsu yet, but let me teach you how to channel solar energy into your body." Taking a deep breath, Sanna closes his eyes. Exhaling, he begins to chant "Ra" as an allusion to the sun god. A bright light starts glowing from within Sanna's body, and wind begins swirling through the flowers around them. He stands up, opening his eyes to reveal a pure white aura radiating light. Suddently, he shouts "Solar Release!" while forming an unusual hand seal. The light shatters around him, dissolving into the wind.
Returned to his normal form, Sanna looks over to Reed, who's face is filled with amazement and wonder "Pretty cool, right?" he brags. Impressed and eager to learn, Reed responds "You mean I can do that too?" Sanna laughs, goading him "Yeah, if you wanna be part of the Taiyou clan, you're gonna need to master this technique. Don't worry, it's much easier among all these sunflowers. You can do it!" he encourages him. "Okay, let me try." Reed says hesitantly. He sits down between the flowers, folding his legs and placing his hands together over his chest. Sanna watches him closely, explaining "Your form is important. You can use this hand seal to absorb energy and that one to release it." He demonstrates each hand sign carefully. Reed takes a deep breath, closing his eyes and forming the hand seal. A fire starts burning in his chest and grows through his whole body. As he begins chanting "Ra" he feels a growing power in his voice. He opens his eyes to reveal a bright green energy flowing out from within. "You did it!" Sanna cheers "Now let it go." he continues sternly. Reed focuses his chakra into his hands, forming the hand seal Sanna showed him, he calls out "Solar Release." The light bursts around him, dissipating like clouds into a fine mist, swept away by the wind. Sanna praises him "Great job! I'm impressed you got it on your first try. I guess you really are Taiyou." he teases. Reed chuckles "I guess you were right about these sunflowers" he sneers sarcastically, admitting "But really, I'm grateful for all your help. He gets up from the ground, continuing "We should probably start heading back now though." Sanna agrees, responding "Yeah, I'm coming." He picks himself up from the ground and follows behind as Reed makes his way back down the dirt path to the Academy building.

What's going on? he thought, watching her approach. She called out to him with concern in her voice "Reed, what happened?" He looked over to Sanna confusedly, remembering the solar meditation they practiced. He replies to her hesitantly "I mean, we were just meditating in the big field of sunflowers. We're on the way back now." Her face softens, seemingly relieved, she continues "Oh good, we saw lights flashing in the woods and we were worried someone could have gotten hurt." Reed looks surprised, he hadn't realized their technique would be visible from the Academy. He admits "Actually, that was us." He looks over to Sanna "He was teaching me a solar meditation." Gina raises her brow, creasing her forehead. Her mouth purses into a smiling frown. "You mean that flashing was your chakra? I'm impressed, you two have advanced faster than we expected." She folds her arms. Resting her chin on her fist, she thinks to herself for a moment before continuing "You know, I think you might actually be ready to graduate from the Academy. Follow me, we can go get your headband." Reed looks at her in disbelief "Are you serious?" he questions her. She laughs, replying "Of course! Don't worry, you're ready. Now, let's go." She guides them through the halls to an office with several cabinets and drawers for storing documents. Reaching into a display case, she pulls out two headbands, giving one to each of them. She instructs them "Don't lose this, it will help you stay safe." Reed takes the headband from her, grinning. He wraps it snugly around his forehead, proudly displaying his new badge. He cheers "Thank you so much! I can't wait to see the rest of the village." Gina smiles, assuring him "You're welcome, let me know if you have questions." Reed heads for the door, waving to them, he bids them a farewell "See you later." Finally ready to leave, he excitedly races down the hall to the exit.

Feudal Spira - Summoner Al Bhed Chaotic Good Genin
Ren walks through the halls of the academy, stumbling as the others there had gotten used to him doing, a bottle in one of his hands. The other was on the katana at this waist, almost seeming to use it as a way to stop him from bumping into the walls as much as he would otherwise. To many there, it was a surprise he had passed, as he was always goofing off and never seemed to take things serious enough. Plus he was always getting into trouble for breaking various rules, sneaking out at night, and just generally causing chaos. Of course, he wasn’t surprised he passed, he was very skilled and knew what he was doing, even if he purposefully gave off the air of not knowing it. And now that he was done with the academy, time to return home and learn more elemental techniques. And now that he had graduated the academy, he would be allowed to learn the summoning techniques of his mother’s side of the family. And construct a firearm as the kind crafted by his father’s side of the family. He staggered out the door, taking the steps down one, two, and then the rest all at once in one continuous stumbling fall that he somehow caught his balance at the bottom right before planting on his face before stumbling down the road.
