Arthur the Humanoid Guardian Cat

People usually didn't usually look up. People were tall and while Arthur was still getting used to being tall, he knew as a cat he was used to looking up because so many things were bigger than him. Not much was bigger than a human in a city. That was until he looked at Cheom looking up and followed her gaze just in time to see a massive ship falling down.

Before he even had time to tense, he felt a force shove him back and sent him falling on his backside. Hissing, he looked out to see the senshi seconds before the bottom of the boat slammed into the ground, shaking the ground under him.

Rattled, he stared in silence, eyes wide as he looked at the wall of the ship only a few inches from where he sat.

"Ch---Cheom?" He whispered. Turning onto his knees, he crawled over and started to press his hands against the ship's walls. "CHEOM?!" He cried out.

No.

Nonononono.

He couldn't loose one. He couldn't loose another one.

"CHEOM?!! SAY SOMETHING!!!"

Kainite

He didn't even realize that Auro was approaching until he came right up and yanked Kainite off the ground, and even then, the lieutenant was practically limp with laughter, tears rolling down his red face. "Bossman!" he exclaimed as he howled. "Want to! Can't! Haha!!" Needless to say, he basically let himself be dragged around uselessly, and somewhere along the way he went ahead and grabbed another bottle because laughing was great and fun but even he kind of wanted it to stop now.

Then there was Mintaka, who he would've been delighted to see, but apparently someone else got crushed and now she was - he really didn’t WANT to laugh at it but well here he was, and he was laughing even as he sounded exasperated, flinging the bottle he'd grabbed at the floor to reveal --

Quote:
6: Lucky you! There's a health potion inside. Use it now, or stash it in your inventory for later use. Restores 10 HP

ANOTHER BOTTLE.

"Wow, that was useless!" He was still laughing. Oh god.

[ Eion Risk is ENTERING ]

What greeted them beyond the forever stars was a voice of bawdy arrogance. Of contempt. It spoke blisteringly of tasks assigned, like a slavedriver commanding cotton to spring out of the ground, unwilling to acknowledge the human hands and human hurt and human tasks involved in ratifying that wish. This voice cared none for the human — or the inhuman. They would each serve just as well. How delightful for a person like Schörl.

Eion raised brows at eir companion. "Welcome to the world of magic."

In with their glittering atmosphere came a swell in em, a feral excitement chasing out all the bitter bone and salt and instilling thrill in its place. Ey felt a hum in eir fingers, an adrenaline misplaced but sorely needed — a scant reminder of the fire endemic to eir form. No flame kindled from gut, however, and no cape sprung from back. Nothing about this breathless world scraped away the falsehood of Eion Risk. Strange that forces could limit him so. Stranger still that this false galaxy, governed by an entity that spoke like them and thought like them, would find it so beneficial to lock Eion into such an impotent form. How shortsighted.

And yet, how interesting. Eion tried — and in part, failed — to bite back a smile. Eir companion took this twist much differently, with all the fear and loathing endemic to human sensibilities when confronted with the unknown. How sad for her, this girl; the universe was pitiless to her and all the others here. Mercy was just as human as that often-prudent fear, of which this disembodied guardian had neither.

"We'll need each other's names. Eion." Eir statement completed with a gesture to emself in case eir language was still an enigma.

This girl, hemorrhaging confidence and energy, at least had the sense to choose a bottle. She chose her fate — she had that much autonomy. She asked for help — she had that much self-awareness. So Eion followed her, eir acquiescence unstated, and reached unhesitant for her bottle. They reached glass and cork and disappeared em to a world unknown.

A great ethereal ship hung above like a Damocles sword, poised, then crushed down as the youth vanished. Ey never knew the cost it demanded of the other marooned strangers.

Malaise

"Ohhh. To you, am I the bird?" Malaise contemplated out loud before tugging his notepad out of his pocket to take a few more notes. He paused, briefly, when the large bird extended a wing for him to climb on, and he accepted the invitation, plopping down in what would be the center of Aventurine's hand - wing. Whatever. Even there, he set straight back to jotting some notes. He really wanted to remember that later. "Interesting. What a lovely notion. I can surely do something with that."

He sighed, thoughtfully, before remarking with a lopsided sort of smile, "Do any of us really know what help we need?" Then there was another peacock both laughing and barking at the one holding him, making a lovely cryptic comment about death that had him scribbling again. "Death does not stick. Huh. That is good. You are all certainly something, aren't you?" he hummed, glancing up. "You're going, then? Will you take me along?"

[Sailor Sweetite is ENTERING]

She had no clue where she was or where her General had gone to. She'd disappeared along with the handsome brunette she'd somehow acquired (how was it that Miss Ellis knew so many handsome young men??) before Sweetite had been able to reconnect with her superior officer and give her a rundown of everything that had transpired before her arrival.

But there were bottles, bottles everywhere and temptation had her uncorking one, only to discover... nothing inside of it.

Yet, when she glanced up, everyone around her had disappeared, replaced by... peacocks?

What in the world?!

[ Pavo is ENTERING ]

Giza said he'd follow her lead as soon as they were inside the mist. Now they were, and the mist took them elsewhere, and Pavo was just as well-informed as her newly-awakened knight partner. They each knew nothing about this new section of space they found themselves in, and had only that bodiless voice to boss them around into menial labor. But when they were already in a space they didn't recognize, with no obvious exits, and the terms of their confinement already laid out, did they have time to spare on trying to sabotage that voice? Pavo wasn't sure they did.

Her first thought: this galaxy-esque area was an illusion. Pavo, herself being the senshi of mirages, had no extra intuition about other people's mirages. Were they actually trapped in another dimension or did this person throw a metaphorical blanket over them and call it a different dimension? It was powerful magic if that was the case; even Pavo couldn't trick people for long with her senshi abilities. No, she would lean into the assumption that they were something else entirely.

Her second thought: if they were elsewhere, then standing against this voice wasn't a smart move. Even if they could pull one over on this unidentified person, they'd be moored in a place that may not have access to the real world anymore. They were assigned tasks, seals to clear, and told that they would have freedom again if these tasks were completed. The instructions were straightforward, if spoken bitingly.

Pavo looked to Giza, searched his face, gave his hand a squeeze. His language was spoken in comforts, emotional assurances. She could speak that tongue for a while.

"She gave us a way out in her instructions. Considering the alternative, I think we're better off obeying." A quick gesture pulled attention to their vast, glitteringly empty surroundings. Nothing about this place indicated any kind of portal back to Destiny City. If nothing else, it promised hardship and unnecessary suffering. The few stuck wandering about and picking bottles looked varying levels of misfortunate. Maybe one of the innumerable bottles contained a portal back to the normal world, but the statistics game dissuaded her from trying it.

Here, isolated in this space, she had only two people she needed to look out for — Giza and herself. All the rest were potential teammates in this matter, or potential enemies. But she owed each of them nothing, and they each owed her nothing — they would move forward independent of one another. Surely Giza understood that, too, though she imagined he wanted to save as many strangers from this space as possible. He may even want to save that voice, wherever the owner was.

Thus, obeying was not only a quick ticket out but also a play into Giza's sensibilities. As she approached the four mentioned bottles, there were no discernible features on which to make a decision. Deciding, then, need not take any brain power; random selection was just as good as an informed decision.

"Are you ready?" Pavo let the words linger for a moment, long enough for a ship to pause over them and come down to turn many to dust, then with Giza in tow, reached out for the nearest cursed glass. She spoke no further word of the ship incident; they didn't have time to spare on vanished people. To the desert realm they would go.

[ Cheomseongdae is ENTERING ]
She materialized back into the strange world of the hub, unaware of a smudge of dirt on her face, and had to look around to re-position herself, as she did not just reappear where she had been... Thankfully, since there was a ******** BOAT where she had been, and she really did not think it would go well for her. The idea of an infinite cycle of appearing under a giant boat and re-dying was incredibly unappealing.

As she got herself reoriented, she heard the sound of Arthur yelling her name, his voice clearly upset... And she swore, then took off running through the space, and whatever people were lingering around in it. If someone was shoved out of the way, she called a sorry, but did not pay them much mind.

Soon, but in her mind not soon enough, she was at Arthur's side and slammed to her knees besides him, her arms going around her friend. "Arthur! Arthur, I'm here, I'm back... It... It didn't exactly kill me, I'm... I'm mostly ok, Arthur!" She was stroking his hair, trying to calm her friend down so that he did not feel he was alone, or that he had lost her.

Sweetite

But it didn't seem to matter that everyone had turned into peacocks (or replaced by peacocks? Were the peacocks a stand-in or were they actually the same people she'd noticed before she'd opened the bottle?) because at that very moment, Sweetite failed to notice the very large, very heavy ship that fell from the heavens (or mist, rather) from up above.

It crushed her in mere moments, making her peacock confusion moot.

[Allegra Marchesi]
"The world of magic, indeed. It seems I have no choice but to accept that this is the case. And to think, I could have spent the evening at home, practicing my violin playing." Her tone was dry and a little bemused, as she took in the details of the nonsense she was walking past, trying to make it to the bottle.

"I am Allegra, it is a pleasure to meet you, despite the unusual circumstances." And even despite the fact that this young person spoke in such strange ways, and seemed to have such a bizarrely experienced view on life for someone who appeared to be a few years younger then she was.

She was going to say more when the rather unexpected experience of a ship falling out of the sky and landing on her rather THOROUGHLY interrupted her, her train of thought, her path and just her in general.

Corrupt Sailor Mab [Entering Hub]

Mab found herself launched into a really freakish place, some weird pocket dimension or something like that.

Granted, she only knew it was a dimension 'cause a big faceless voice said so. It also said something about...trials...and dying...and other garbage Mab really didn't want to pay attention to but figured she couldn't afford to ignore. Distressing things that were only half-heard because she'd mostly been falling the entire time, trying to hold onto that fop Versailles.

Speaking of...where was he?

At some point in the magical transfer, Mab and her 'new friend' had been separated, but before she could even think of looking around for his eye-sore of a costume, a massive ship was coming down to crush her.

Like, dead.

As in, no escape dead.

"s**t--"

Lieutenant Aventurine

"You're no bird," Aventurine quipped, but any more was lost when General Zircon suddenly reappeared spouting something about death being meaningless. He made a mental note about it, fingers nearly wrapping around the tiny man in his hand for securing purposes.

It wasn't that he cared about what might happen-- death was meaningless, if the man died, he'd come back. He thought he saw a glimpse of Sweetite, before the ship sailed into her. He shook his head.

"I am something, but something much greater than this seems to lend to." He huffed a sigh, reaching for the bottle he'd seen Zircon disappeared into.

"Where I go, you'll be going," he stated, shrugging before he too disappeared.

[Allegra Marchesi is ENTERING]
Allegra was still running when she rematerialized in the hub, and still trying to dust the dirt off. She saw the ship, where it had landed, and winced in appalled horror... Then took off, heading for the bottle she had been trying to reach in the first place. She just wanted to get home, already. This place was hell.

And to think, she could have had a peaceful evening practicing the violin.

Arthur the humanoid guardian cat

It happened so suddenly and his gut was twisted so painfully that it felt like it would tear. He had only just started to know Cheom and she was gone in a second. Strangely it felt no different loosing someone who was older to someone younger. The pain was equally wretched and he stared at the wall of wooded boards laquered for the sea until his vision blurred with fat tears gorged on fresh sorrow.

What would happen to her dear family? Would there even be a body to discover and if so, after the ship maybe floated away, would they even be able to identify her? He covered his mouth at the thought as he cried.

He had only gotten in her way. Why did she push away an old fool like him?

Croaking her name again and again her hugged himself as he mourned before he felt arms about him. Smaller than him, she still reached up to get his head and ears. He knew the smell of her before he even saw her and he stared in disbelief. The emotional whiplash of crying over her sudden death to her suddenly being alive left him stunned and unable to figure out what to do. Tears still rolling, he wrapped her in his arms not only to see if she was real but to make sure she didn't leave to get smashed again.

"Cheom? H-how? The ship - and " he looked back at the still very there ship beside them and back at her. Squeezing her too tightly, he cried against her. "I can't believe you're here. Don't ever do that again. I can't - I can't handle it."

"We need to get out of this horrible place. I need to get you home "

ACUBENS is ENTERING

Acubens ran through the gat from the cemetery, making a beeline for the sky bottle. She didn't have time to waste on anything else. She didn't look around, didn't stop for anything. She had to get back to her charges in case something happened. In case the other senshi decided that she didn't want to play nice. In case the force that kept them there decided to pick one of them off and not brign them back.

The last thought made her heartache and only spurred her on faster.

No. She couldn't think like that. She couldn't. She had to believe that they were okay. That she would see them on the other side of this ordeal. She had to, even if it was only to keep herself sane and present.

So focused was she on making it to the Sky Bottle that she didn't see the bottle right in front of her. She didn't see her clawed pump making an arc towards it as she stepped down. It wasn't until she kicked it forwards and watched it shatter that she saw it.

Acubens froze, waiting for the worst. Instead of that, however, another small potion lay in the shattered glass. Huh... so they weren't all bad? Still, it wasn't worth the intentional risk, even if this accidental reveal was helpful. Acubens snatched the health potion up as she grabbed the Sky Bottle and left.
