I love most, if not all characters of Shaman King - even the X-Laws. Hey, they weren't so bad by the end of the anime series. However, a few do stick out in my mind.
Ryu, I thought, was so amazing. Not because he was a good shaman or anything, but because he was just so hilarious. I loved his motorcycle songs and his subtext compassion for Billy and total his hotness for Lyzerg. They should totally be together.
Amidamaru was my favourite spirit. He was just so dreamy and amazing. Any episode that focussed on him was my favourite episode, not including the last two episodes!!

{Hao}Because he never ever really raises his voice and he wants to rid the planet of the people who hurts it.. ANDD, he enjoys watching people fight.. He has a lot of enemies to, just like me cool
{X-Laws} Because they have the seven fallen angels, especially micheal, micheal's the best one they got..
{Lyserg} Because He wants revenge on Hao for what happened to his parents, woo, go Lyserg! He joined the X-laws so he could get a better chance.. Uhm, green puffy hair, and dressed like a detective xd

Oh hey, lookie, I didn't post here yet... Huh, I guess I neglected it up until now. Now, I just hope this doesn't turn into an insanely long essay.
My favorite character is Ren Tao, why? Because, to put it simply, he had a tough past, and just overcame it recently. Over time, his hatred must've grown and grown, but when he overcame it at a tough time in his life, just in the beginning of the Shaman fight and when he was pressured to progress most out of most times. He was power hungry and was more than willing to destroying his humanity but he's made a lot of development in just a bit of time.
Out of the basic group, he may or may not have suffered the most. But whether he did or he didn't, he became one of the most devoted members of the team, both to his goal and to the bond within them. (In the anime) When they were going after Hao and he, Ryu, Horo, and Faust went against some of Hao's minions, Ren was attacked when trying to defend the others.
In a nutshell, I love Ren because he's well-developed and very devoted to his friends.
Oh hey, it didn't turn out too long after all. sweatdrop

Wow. I looked at my answer on page 7 and it's really, really, really different from the way I think now. And it wasn't that long ago either. o: I must correct it.
The reason why Tao Ren is my favorite character is because he happens to be very admirable. The way he wanted to escape his past after realizing what the right thing was from Yoh was very inspiring. He's a loyal friend and an unbelievably kind person. He is kind because he refuses to make the same mistakes in the past. He does not want to harm innocent people anymore. The Ren from the day he killed Chrom is very different from the Ren that died at the hands of Chrom's brother for revenge. He cares so much about his friends that he is willing to give his life for them. The only thing that actually scares him now is himself from the past. It's something he never wants to remember.
Not only that but he is also one who does not give up easily. One who does not care whether an opponent is stronger than himself. If he knows he will die in a fight, he will not give up. Though, he is aware that many people are stronger than him, he continues to tell himself that he is strong as well so he will have hope or else there will be no chance to win.
Other than those things, Ren is a very likable character. He's smart, egotistical, arrogant and funny in his own way. He likes to act tough all the time and loves to tease and make fun of people. He's serious and an overall cool character. And he has great taste clothes. Even the Ren that was not yet good had some aspects that I like. He understood what was wrong with the Earth and desired to cleanse. His idea of how to cleanse it was bad but his intentions were to save the earth. That is still something to admire.

Ren is my favorite character for so many reasons. But mostly because he has such a kind soul that many people fail to see.

I haven't watched Shaman King in forever, so that could possibly explain why I didn't get much inspiration to write anything longer for Ren. (However, my Ino Yamanaka obession is a very different story.)

It's fine. I just tend to praise people when I see a good piece of writing.
I've been like that since I got praise for my Ino Defense essay. I initally thought that I would get a bunch of flames, but instead all 12 comments are at least a little bit positive. <3

i like yoh and anna.. yoh cos he is so easygoing and cool.. alvays says "all will be alraight".. almost same as me.. and anna cos she is so hot and alvays so... she just isin't me.. thats it.. i like girls who arent anything like me.. and anna fills that realy good. but anna can be sweet to =)
