Punk was stunned as Punk was suddenly thrown to the ropes, bouncing off of them and then coming back to Matt.

Now off the rebound came Punk, and in the process Matt would look grab him by the head with both hands and deliver a knee to the cheek part of his face!

Punk was hit with the knee as Punk was stunned once again and started to fall to the mat slowly as he was dazed!

Matt would stumble back a bit, but looked to pick up the pace! he would then look to grab Punk's hands and bring him off the canvas, looking for a pull in knee strike to the face once more!

The audience would begin to be more vocal in this part of the match, as Matt would drop to a knee, holding his gut! but he knew he would of had to put Punk away because earlier was too close of a call! He would now begin to stand to his feet, watching, preying on C....M...Punk!

Punk was down, almost out of it but breathing heavily as well. He had his eyes shut as Punk had to recover and wake himself up somehow.

Approaching Punk's downed, lifeless body, as Matt suspected, Punk wouldn't have what he thought left in the tank and couldn't run with the new breed. Matt would look to lift Punk up, slowly, steadily!

Punk recovered more and more as time went on, as slowly as Matt lifted up Punk, he tried to recover to the best of his ability. He was slowly picked up to his feet eventually.

Now having Punk to his feet, placing him in another ripcord position, he would look to pull him in for a Rainmaker Lariat, looking to hit the second one, remembering missing the first one!

The Rainmaker connects! The efforts would've sent Matt to the canvas as well, and he would roll over to his back looking up at the lights!

Turning over onto his stomach, Matt would crawl over to CM Punk and look to throw his arm over his chest for the cover, as the referee would drop down to count, with the crowd chanting along!

Punk would be down after the constant strikes by Gennison, as Punk was out of it. He referee would count for the championships, 1...2..
..and no! CM Punk would raise up his shoulder right before the three count, still showing life in this match!
