Brian and Purr were passing what looked like another rock, but as they got closer, Brian recognized it as another Nosepass. As they got closer, the Nosepass started to spin, prompting Brian to stop and look at the Rock-type curiously. Purr, riding on her trainer's shoulder, understood what the Nosepass was saying, and she looked at Brian and tapped his head to get him to look at her. From the way she was acting, the boy assumed the Nosepass wanted them to play a game, and he nodded at Purr, who jumped down to the ground and approached the Nosepass.
(Spin, spin, spin ..tell me where to stop. If it's in the right direction, a prize you will gain, but if it's wrong ...woe to thee ...a prize you shall receive)
The Nosepass would yell quite loudly as it spun even faster as they got closer. It was completely excited now and waiting for the ultimate answer. Where would it stop? What would happen next?
The pokemon was completely excited about what was about to happen.
(Roll the dice, even is good and odd is bad, but roll a 1d20 to determine what prize you get from this game)
Brian watched as Purr approached the Nosepass, and the Espurr listened as the Rock-type explained the rules of the game. It sounded easy enough, though she did wonder what kind of prize she might get. After a moment, she spoke. "Espurr purr!" she said, telling the Nosepass to stop spinning. She just hoped that she would be able to get a good prize.
(Oh no, oh no, it didn't stop right ....now it's time for me to go, and you to drop somewhere far below)
The Nosepass cheer when it saw what direction it was pointing. The pokemon would drop like a rock through the sand creating a hole that quickly turned into a sand pool that dips downwards. The ground underneath Brian would quickly shift into sand that followed this same trend as the boy would literally sunk in a instant up to his waist in the sands.
There was no escape as it would pull him towards the center and down and down and down.
He would disappear from the desert as he would drop into a cavern underneath the sands.
(You have been transported to a secret area)
Sweltering Cave
Further in and further down. Only an idiot would think going into a deep, dark cave that seems to crackle with heat and energy was a good idea. Unfortunately, you don’t seem to have much of a choice anymore. The only light comes from the strange glowing rocks that spark when you get too close to them. And the temperature feels like it’s rising. Have care, stick to the sides, and keep your head up.
Brian and Purr watched as the Nosepass stopped, and they wondered what would happen. They had no way to prepare as the Rock-type suddenly dropped through the sand, creating a hole that pulled both Brian and Purr into it. Although he struggled, Brian couldn't free himself from the falling sand, so he pulled Purr's Pokeball from his belt and held it out. "Purr, return!" he said. The Espurr didn't resist as the red beam of light sucked her back into her ball, as she could feel the heat from the cave beneath before they even reached it. As soon as Purr was back in her ball, Brian hit the ground in the cavern, barely managing to hang onto the Pokeball in his hand.
It knocked the breath from him, and he laid there for a few minutes until he could breathe properly again before getting up. "It's a good thing Purr's not out now," he said. "It's even hotter down here than it was up above. Ah, well, let's get Nosepass healed, and figure out a name for her." Having said this, he replaced Purr's Pokeball on his belt, then removed Nosepass' ball and opened it to reveal the Rock-type. He hadn't taken the time to heal her after her battle with Purr yet, and he figured now would be a good time to do it. Plus, she would be able to handle the heat better than Purr would.
"Alright, Nosepass, I'm going to heal ye, then give ye a name," he said, pulling a potion from his bag. The Rock-type held still as he applied the potion, though he did notice her wince as he sprayed it on the deep scratches along her back. Once that was taken care of, he looked at the Nosepass with a thoughtful look on his face. "I think I'll call ye Amiga," he said. The Rock-type looked at him for a moment before nodding once, a sign that she liked her name. "Alright, let's see if we can find a way out of here, Amiga," Brian said, and Amiga nodded as the two of them began to search the cave, hoping to find a way back outside.
The Trapinch would stop it's eternal movements for survival as it would come across something strange in the cavern. It wasn't another pokemon, and the one that was, wasn't one that it recognized.
It was something strange and entirely new, and the Trapinch had no clue what to make of it as it scampers closer.
This was a place that was hidden and underground, so it saw very little if any human traffic. There was no stories of trainers here, nor of pokemon that act as their partners, and thus, this Trapinch literally had no clue what Brian is.
How this encounter will resolve itself was up to him, because Trapinch is curious.
Brian and Amiga walked along the path, with Brian taking care not to get too close to the rocks that he could see were sparking with electricity. It was much hotter down here, though being a Rock-type, Amiga didn't seem to mind the heat as much. He was glad he'd caught the Nosepass, as having Amiga out of her Pokeball gave Purr a chance to rest, not to mention keeping the Espurr from overheating due to her fur. It wasn't long after they'd fallen into the cavern that Brian spotted a Trapinch moving around, and when it saw him, he was surprised to see that it scampered closer to him, apparently curious.
He wondered why it was so curious, then realized it was likely because this cavern got very little human traffic. So he theorized that the Trapinch had never seen a human before, and wanted to figure out what Brian was. Amiga was watching the Trapinch warily, though she wouldn't attack without Brian's word. Brian, for his part, knelt down and reached out to the Trapinch, though he didn't move closer. In his hand was a poffin that he'd made for Ground-types, and he was hoping to be able to befriend the Trapinch, instead of attacking it outright.
Quick movements, shifting down, holding out a strange appendage ...something is on it?
The Trapinch would scuttle backwards at first once it realized that the strange creature had noticed it and was moving. Though it only lowered it self to present something on those strange appendages?
Was it edible?
Maybe it was trying to talk though touch, or maybe, it was the type that communicate through food? Maybe a nibble means something, maybe, it's best to stay away.
The Trapinch was unsure, but still moved closer. The smell of something good filled it's senses and thus, it would get more curious. One step closer, once step closer, one step closer....and then it's mouth would open wide.
The pokemon would bite down on both the poffin and Brian's hand.
It would seem he had just been bitten.
Brian is injured
(Trainer injury 1/5 - at 5 the trainer will become unconscious, and will lose something upon being returned to the pokemon center. If the trainer had nothing to lose, they themselves will never be heard from again)
Brian held the poffin out to the Trapinch, hoping the Ground-type would take it, but he didn't count on the Trapinch's reaction. When he saw what the Pokemon had in mind, he tried to pull his hand back, but he wasn't quick enough to avoid getting bitten by the Trapinch. He let out a yell of pain as the Trapinch's jaws closed on both his hand and the poffin, and when the Trapinch let go, jerked his hand back, trying to stem the blood from the wound. That was a stupid decision on my part, he thought, gritting his teeth against the pain. But I'd love to add another Pokemon to my team, so here goes."Amiga, are ye ready for yer first battle with me?" he asked. The Nosepass gave a nod, irritated with the Trapinch hurting her trainer like that. "Alright, let's go!" he said, and the Rock-type jumped in front of her trainer, shielding him from the Ground-type.
The Trapinch would munch the poffin completely care free. It's eyes sparkling at the taste, and it had to admit the hand didn't taste bad either. So, the pokemon of course would look up ...expecting another one, but instead there was something standing in front of it.
Something that made the ground type mad as she looks at the Nosepass with rage in her eyes.
"Trapinch ...trap"
(How dare you stand between me and the yummy)
She proclaimed loudly at the pokemon. She had finally determine what the strange creature was, and had given it a appropriate name, Yummy. Yummy were strange creatures that brought good things to eat, and sacrifice a little of themselves in the process. A wonderful creature, and like with any other wonderful creatures, there were pokemon to get in her way.
Never.
(Get out of the way or else)
(Trapnich...trap...inch...pinch)
The pokemon declare sharply as she would hunker down. Their speed was the same, so both pokemon was free to attack as the Trapinch would literally use Bide.
She was going to make sure she hurt this pokemon, and then, she would get more yummy.
Brian couldn't understand what the Trapinch was saying, but Amiga could, and the Rock-type wasn't at all happy with what she was hearing. "Pass, Nosepass Pass," she answered, shaking her head angrily. "Nosepass, Nose Nosepass."(That "Yummy" isn't for you to eat. He's my trainer, and I won't let you hurt him.) The Nosepass stared the Trapinch right in the eye, not at all intimidated by the anger she saw there. After a moment, she saw the Ground-type starting to glow, and she realized that it was using Bide. Not on my watch, she thought, and launched into a Tackle attack, hoping to do some damage before the Trapinch could fire the attack.
The Trapinch didn't move as Bide activated successfully, but there was nothing to be gained from that first attack. oh well, the pokemon would glare at her opponent as she almost laughed at the pokemon's funny words.
"Trap?"
(Trai~ner)
"Trap, inch, pinch, Trapinch, Tra ..pinch ...Rapinch"
(Stupid word, how dare you tell me what I can and can not eat ...you aren't the boss of me)
The pokemon would growl back.
"Trapnich, pinch...trapinch."
(Beside, you are too weak to make me listen to you anyway, so the yummy will be mine once you are gone.)
The pokemon would retort back as she didn't even move a muscle as if to say. I told you so, she would take any attacks head on. With only her skin to act as an defense, in other words, she was not going to run away from Nosepass or any of it's attacks.
Brian watched as Amiga attacked without his instruction, and he assumed it was because she wanted to protect him. He was impressed by how she stood up to the Trapinch, effectively angering it in the process. Amiga, for her part, wasn't phased by the Ground-type's words. "Pass, Nosepass Nose, Pass," she said. (Yes, trainer, he helps me get stronger.) She kept her cool even as the Trapinch growled in response to Amiga's words that Brian wasn't something for the Trapinch to eat. She didn't give any indication of emotion at the Ground-type's words about Amiga being too weak to make her listen, though she was even more irritated than before. "Amiga, try a Tackle again," Brian said, having seen that the initial attacks did nothing. The Nosepass nodded and launched into a second Tackle attack, hoping to do some damage this time around.
The pokemon would declare as the hit wouldn't even move her back an inch. She looked upwards at the pokemon that tower over her and snorted.
"Trapinch ...trap ...pinch...pinch...trapinch"
(If this is proof of you strength, thenI should wonder how much weaker you were before now, or if that yummy is useless for making you stronger, and would probably be best to eat))
"Trapinch ...Trapinch."
(Either way, this is going to be an easy win for me)
Her eyes would shine with anticipation. Yummy would go good in her belly and it was such much bigger than her. It would be days of yummy ..in her tummy. She couldn't wait, and this pokemon in front of her wasn't even worth of the time she was wasting on it.
But, then again, she didn't need this pokémon in her way as she tried to eat. So, maybe wasting a little time was good.
~Trapinch bides it's time~
(This is Trapinch's attack phase, you have the option of using a counter-attack or simply sitting this out on your defensive phase)
Brian and Amiga both growled softly when the Tackle attack did nothing, though it wasn't really surprising to Brian. He analyzed the battlefield, noticing that the Trapinch had decided to bide its time, for now. He could use this time to his advantage, but he wanted to see what other attacks the Trapinch had, besides Bide. "Amiga, let's wait and see what Trapinch has to offer," he said, and the Rock-type nodded once, not taking her eyes off the Trapinch.
