Kade received a long, pointed sort of look while Nash tried to figure out if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
"Playing games is stupid, anyway," he said, with a roll of his eyes. "People should just say what they want. Does being told no bother you just in the realm of sexy things, or all the time?"[ Chance AMA ]
A laugh escaped him. "I never had any standards to begin with, so I'm not so sure I lowered anything," Chance answered, grinning. "I wasn't expecting anything when I came to the island, so really, I got a helluva lot more than I bargained for and I like it."
He shrugged again. "I gave up wanting anything because of my past, but now I have things that I want. Being here fixed that part of me."

Dean perked at the word gambler. He didn't know good questions since that required getting to know people, but he could do some easy ones just to ease the pace everything was going at.

Maybe it was the ring's magic that brought the answer to his lips immediately. He looked troubled, now, thoughtful; trying to do some math to figure it all out. "Damn, I think she's like twenty, now. A nod of agreement. "Exactly. I'm fine with playing the game as long as I know how the game will end. Not a big fan of wasting time, yanno?" The question had him shrugging. "Does anyone like being told no when they want something? Obviously I don't like it but I respect it. People can make their own choices."

Leaning close, America whispered her question to Dawson. "Who do you like better, me or..." it should probably be Maebe's name thst came next, "...the old America."
Younger or older, it was still America to him. Here and now, at least, she had a second chance at a better life than the one her previous self had been headed towards. And sure, acting as pseudo dad played into the favoritism, but on the whole, Dawson preferred an America that was happy and healthy, even if it meant losing their previous connection. He was used to compromising for others anyway.

Joy shrugged, "My fear's more that I'm never gonna get into one." The notion of ever ending up in a terrible relationship doomed to failure not once ever crossing her mind. She was in a lot of ways ridiculously optimistic and naive.

It was Joy's turn to ask a question, maybe she felt a little curious why Melvin took that road with the thing he's asked of her, "What's your favorite kind of injury?" He was in Life, she was sure he'd seen and been through some s**t.
It'd what? Hours since that tentacle battle and her FEAR shield was on the brink of shattering.

Joy's questions sounded like they came straight out of one of those SLAM books you passed around in school. Who was to say she wasn't actually referring to one she filled out in her younger days?

[Noah AMA]Noah squeaked and turned red when Melvin asked him about his favorite porn, but the ring brought an immediate answer out of him. " a**l Adventures 2. None of that was anything he'd intended to admit out loud, tame as it might be; its very tameness was kind of embarrassing in itself. The embarrassment nearly caused him to miss the look Pey gave him. He didn't meet her eyes, after what he'd just said, and after the history they had. If she asked him any questions, he'd just have to deal with it. It had been a while, but he still felt guilty from time to time. The question about his weapon was sort of a relief, a simple and less embarrassing one, and he replied, "My weapon's name is Lazarus. He's a bonesaw and he was a zombie dog. Right now we're kind of distant, but we've never really been close, except on one mission." He hadn't quite meant to say the last part, but the ring didn't force further details out. Probably because the question had been about his weapon, not about missions. Maybe nobody would ask about that. "The grossest thing I've ever eaten was probably the worm I ate when I was like three," he answered Lysander. [Kade AMA]Absurd questions? That could be kind of fun, especially after some of the more uncomfortable things being admitted. "What's the dumbest thing you've ever done to try to get a date with someone?" he asked. He pointed to the large scar of a wing that went from his neck out across his collarbone and shouder that contained the swirly scars from his run-in as a child with Halloween. "The ones I ask for. The ones I want. The ones that feel like they mean something at the time. The ones that make you feel something. The ones that linger. The ones that get out of hand. The ones without hands."
He couldn't help but feel a little too warm at admitting that to a group he didn't trust. "When there is something under the pain." And he glanced at Peyton for just a second before looking at Joy.

He glanced at Noah. "It's the point of this game. You can get answers to tender questions easily while hanging out or working together without much risk because they are questions people feel no risk in answering and then whats the point of the ring. They don't have to reflect on anything deep or controversial to answer them and can pass around a mask to put them in the best light. A game isn't exciting if you ask what someone's favorite color is or if they miss their dead grandmother that raised them. You don't get to know them anymore than anyone else they meet on the street and sometimes people don't even know themselves. I have always had a hard time getting people and questions have always been my ammunition to deflect a conversation or even start to figure them out. It's easy to ask the safe questions to keep the image they gave you secure but not asking just denies the reality of a facade and even then you can be fooled."

That was the easy part, and he hadn't needed the ring for it. Sex really wasn't a hard subject for him to talk about.
