But even that quick slash was enough. Tempest surged forward and held her sword high. All the energy she accumulated was flaring from the runes, brighter and brighter, until the entire sword was swallowed up in a searing, painful blast of light.
It was only at the last second that she remembered to look away.

Okay but then Mr. Kircher showed up, so America couldn't just stand around helping people up like a loser. She needed to Show Him What America Jones Is Made Of. Summoning her weapon, there was a golden streak across the battlefield.
Stryker's chain wrapped around one tentacle, America hanging from it as it flailed and tried to shake her off.

Seeing Noah go flying and being well aware of how great that felt, Al ran over to try and help him even if he didn't have much (6 hp lol) left in him.
"Hey! You okay?" He tried to help him up. "Glad you came to the party."
It seemed things were calmed down, and Kim still smelled like Chocolate which wasn't all that bad really. She looked at everyone around her and sighed. "Takayaki for all...."
She then sat down on the ground. She was still pissed she couldn't hurt the thing more. Killing giant things was good exercise.

Healing: Lucky and America to Full HP
No matter the circumstances, Mimsy was always a bit hesitant to charge into battle. That was what Robert was for, and that was exactly what he had done.
But with the Sahara mere days behind her, the memory of the centipede removing her clothing piece by piece was a bit too fresh in her mind. This, when paired with her very vivid memories of her attempts at rune diving, made the sight of the tentacled creature particularly uncomfortable.
She remained at a safe distance, hesitating just beyond what she had calculated to be the most feasible reach of the tentacles, until it appeared to begin to show signs of defeat. Robert's well-being was already accounted for, but America's and Lucky's were less so; she cautiously made her way to them, conveniently already in close proximity to each other, and began to bandage each of them. Though she was silent while she worked, her expression was a pleasant one, content that she was doing what she should be.

Noah took Al's hand and got up, grimacing. "That thing hits hard," he said, rather unnecessarily. "You okay?"
Suddenly, the water was receding, and Noah looked after it with trepidation. "Uh. I think maybe we should be getting away from that."
Moments later, a dark shape in the horizon - it looked for a minute like the horizon was curving upwards, further, further up.
And then a loud roaring noise edging closer and closer as the steely blue horizon neared. There was no mistaking what it was now - a massive vertical wave high, higher than any structure on Deus. The crest of the tsunami crested white, foaming and frothing and as it loomed closer and closer-
- It felt like it would swallow them all.
They could have run. The shoreline was wide, the high-reaching stairs and man headquarters far, far away. They could have run relatively thirty seconds unbroken until the waves were on them and it was salt and the roar of water and ocean-
- They were submerged. Dark shapes below the water. It was oddly quiet except for the pounding in their ears. Cold. The water pushed them down, a force, a hand that refused to let them break the surface. Muscles spasming - air - colder and colder still-
- And then they broke the surface and it felt like a long, long time, salt and water and rain everywhere. Sand, gratefully, and the green of grass. All of them were on an island-
- But it wasn't Deus.

All Hunters even remotely close to the shoreline were whisked away. If your character was NOT around for the first part, they can join this part, having just been swept away. They're on an island, if you can call it that. It's more a small cove far, far away from anything else - even Deus is not in sight. How did they get here in the first place? You can explore the cove:
Notable island features: - Small. Can walk around entire island in 30 minutes. Walking. - Five palm trees with coconuts. - Crabs. A lot of crabs. - Cove has water inside. Fresh water. - Cove about 60% of the island. Inside it is mossy. There's a bunch of runes written there but you don't recognize the language. Pressing them does nothing. With some vigorous carving, you can take a slab of rune home. Doesn't seem to damage the cove too much. - Occassionally you'll see a washed up random minipet. Most of them do not have collars and start melting. - Birds land on the island, but mostly fly overhead to poop. - [ ISLAND HP: 500/500 ] - To recover your Hunter's HP shield/health, they can fish/ forage/ eat food. Who knows how long they'll be stuck here...

- Lots of fish around them. If your character has a runic trap gun or weighted chains, they can now try to catch these fast moving, elusive fish. Roll 1d6, to cast your...thing. Then, follow the spoiler mechanics to reel it in!
- If they don't have those, they can also try catching with their weapon/bare hands. Double the HP required to reel the fish in.
- You can fish ONCE PER CHARACTER
1. You catch a WTF IS THIS SHAPE! It... ITS HUGE. You must hold the line, as another player does 25 damage to damage it into submission. - Feeds 3 times/people, 5 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
2. You catch a VICIOUS AS ******** FISH. It thrashes angrily. You take -5 damage per thrash as another player must do 10 damage to it. - Feeds 3 times/people, 10 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
3. You catch a glasseye snapper. YUM. You must hold the line, as another player does 5 damage to it to damage it into submission. - Feeds 1 times/person, 15 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
4. You catch a crab. Just a regular crab. You really don't need a net or anything. Roll 1d6 to see how many crabs you get. - Feeds 1 times/people, 1 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
5. You catch a well it looks edible. That's good right? You must hold the line, another player does 10 damage to damage it into submission. - Feeds 2 times/people, 5 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
- You can also have coconuts. Damage a tree for 10 damage! (No charged attacks) - heal 10 HP (can only be used in this RP) - Fresh water - the cove has spring water. Sometimes it's finnicky so you have to hit the wall for 5 damage - heal 5 HP (can only be used in this RP)
gaia_crown[ COOKING - Cooking is great! All you need to do is start a fire with a trusty runic torch. If you have a lighter that works too. Get some driftwood nearby or some dry palm tree leaves and get started!
- Cooking a fish will double its HP healing effect.

Al tugged Noah close by the offered hand once he was on steady feet and hugged him tightly with relief. They survived. For now. "I'm okay, a few bruises some healing couldn't hurt."
He had been facing away and pulled away to curiously look at what Noah was looking at and froze.
"s**t. I've seen enough documentaries to know that's not a good sign." He looked at the freshly exposed sand then Noah then the sand and then at everyone around them to make sure they weren't the only ones seeing this s**t.
Then he was gragrrtrgllrggh-ed by a tidal wave and swept out to sea, good thing he kept a firm hold on Noah.

Melvin looked out at the receeding tide. Having lived near the ocean all his life, he slowly took a step back. "G...Guys!" But there wasn't much time to even react, as just as the water went back, the tide came in.
Shouting to everyone run like their life depended on it, because for all he knew it did, he ran out and tried to see if there was any part of higher ground he could get to, but it was not in the cards. The water hit hard, tossing him over his head and about to the point where he couldn't figure out where was up or down. By the time the current rushed back out, he tried to balance himself and head up, but things were darker. Colder. Stranger.
It felt too long before he reached the surface, and as he coughed and gasped, the waves hitting, he fell into the water again before breaking again and - and through it all there was sand again. The tide must have receded.
Looking up, he knew they weren't home. The shore was too small, there were barely any trees, and there were not buildings topped by glowing runes.
He could practically hear the them song of Gilligan's Island place and he looked out to see if maybe he could spot Deus. He could not.
Groggy, he got to his feet and looked around. "Everyone? Are you all okay?" He started to look around to see if he could see anyone and, if needed, preform CPR.

Sherry felt a chill run down her spine as the water receded. She'd heard about what that meant - the water would return, with force. Not to mention being a hunter always meant to be wary of the calm before the storm. This... this was a calm. "Run!" she yelled, shoving her spray can in her pocket. Not that running would do anyone any good. There was no outrunning what came next.
Sherry was trying to wave at people, yell, tell them to move, but there wasn't time to get anywhere. Suddenly there was water, and that's all there was. There was no ground, no sky, no up or down, just water. Chilled and dark, and only growing colder and darker. She needed to breathe but she knew she couldn't; Sherry had to fight the urge to try even though rational thought knew it would kill her. Lungs burned and her mind swirled as she tried to find a way out, a way up, a surface to break through. Nothing but water. Water - and she wasn't alone in the water. She was dimly aware of other shapes in the dark water. Hunters? Her friends? Something sinister? There wasn't time to think about that not with the way her lungs hurt.
Then suddenly there was a light and a surface and air. Sweet, sweet air, which took in huge gulps as though she could make up having been without it for so long. Air above and something below. Her foot nudged something - ground under the water. A shore. Sherry turned to see an island.
She wasn't the only one crawling out of the waves, either. "I'm okay over here," she waved at Melvin. He had the right idea though. Needed to check on people. Had she seen Lucky? Where was America? Leslie hadn't been swept away, had he? Mark... could Mark even swim?
Sherry began to frantically look around. "Mark!" she yelled.
She had faith that the others would be ok. But if Mark's shower trauma (that Sherry assumed was a thing, she doesn't actually know) was more water trauma, well, then there might be an issue. Sherry didn't know. "Mark!"
Kim was immensely shocked to find herself on an island. She looked around as she picked herself off the ground. Her hair had come down and was now just cascading around her face as she tried to see who was on the island with her.
As she tossed her hair the light struck it in a fantastic way, causing the different colours to stand out for a moment. Yeah, Sun hunter for the win. She sighed and seemed to slow mo move toward Melvin a moment to see if he was okay.
If she hadn't suddenly tripped over and rock and face planted she could have done a whole Baywatch thing, other than that she was not as busty as those girls. Instead she just seemed like a bad spoof movie.
Dang it...
Oh well .. She picked herself up and brushed the sand off her self. "Er.. yeah I am cool. Where the heck are we though?" She looked at Melvin trying to catch his eye as if to ask if this was more of.. what she had done in action.

The wave came on too fast to outrun, sweeping over the group on the shore, both the ones who'd tried futilely to get away and the ones that hadn't. Noah struggled to orient himself in the muffled underwater roar of the wave, tumbled this way and that, his lungs crying out for air even as he fought desperately to figure out which way was up. People drowned that way, he knew, swimming the wrong way in their confusion --
-- and then they were breaking the surface, and he took a giant gasping breath and discovered that he was still alive, and that he had kept hold of Al's coat somehow. Other hunters were staggering out of the water onto an unfamiliar beach. "Where are we?" Noah asked.

The wave caught Jordan up, and he only had time for a quick breath before he was rolling underwater, sucked out to sea by the tsunami. With a wave like this, he wasn't sure he'd have enough breath to let the water calm to some degree. He aimed himself for what he thought was the light and swam.
He thought for a few moments that he might have been wrong, and the idea was as suffocating as the increasingly stale air in his lungs. But then he hit the surface, found that he could breathe, found that he was just off a beach, somewhere that wasn't home. He found his feet and dragged himself up onto the sand, looking automatically around for the others who'd been fighting the water creature. It looked like at least most of them had been dragged here also, wherever here was. "I'm okay," he said to Melvin's question.
He was soaked through. He checked his pockets and his bag, and found that everything was soaked. Damn. He folded his hand around his pendant and whispered the activation key, and was unpleasantly surprised when nothing happened. "Anyone else's pendant not working?" he called out.
She was more than fine, actually, she was a total badass. And she felt great too, because Mimsy was The Best Life Hunter In The Whole World Sorry Not Sorry!
Since it wasn't raining or anything, America positioned herself on the sand in her sexiest pose in order to be the first thing Lucky saw once he recovered.
