"I want to be stronger." Ajax told the elder, as he seemed to not understand why he was so eager to keep moving on. "I am tired of my little body." the cub admitted, as he trotted along the side of his teacher. "I want to be big and strong like Crucible, my father, my cousin and...Like you." The dark shadow stated, his head turned away and his brow forward. Ebony tail swayed in tow of his large tired paws
Everyone else was fighting for the fire tribe, and then there was him...just waiting on growing.
"I don't like waiting..."

GunSniper:
Kyle's head tilted to the side. How odd? Though he was not well informed of cubs, he had a deep rooted feeling that growth was not something that anyone could change. It happened over the course of its own time. What a pointless thing to be frustrated over.
He scoffed, finally allowing some form of emotion to slip through.
"You will never be like any of them. You will never be like me." Kyle spoke with a harsh tongue. His gaze shifted to the mountain that had marked their glorious land. "Why waste your time on such a hollow goal?"
Kyle pressed forward, not bothering to check and see if the cub were reacting in any way to his words. This was what he had held a belief of, something he held in mind when he trained his soldiers, when he trained himself.
"Understand them, but you will only ever be like yourself. It is pointless to be like another. What you do with that is your own." He added after a brief moment of silence. Kyle couldn't help but wonder if the cub could comprehend such an idea. Little ones seemed to think on a different level, but why change words just for their benifit? It was pointless to feed anyone lies.

Ajax's ear turned toward his teacher as a very strange noise left him. Not that the sound was strange it was just strange hearing it for the first time coming from him. He had never scoffed a laugh before.
"You're right." The cub stated turning his gaze to the corner of his eye and up at his teacher. "I will be stronger..." He added, not changing his opinion that Kyle was on that list to...But it wasn't spoken. The little upstart maybe perhaps inplyied it. Even if it was 'innocent'. The cub was confident in his own ability and knew he was far stronger then any cub woven could even hope to be, that wouldn't change as a adult.
"you are very wise." Ajax added, with a understanding nod as his attention turned back to their path and ahead of him. A mild pant left the cub as he worked his tired paws to being in stride with his teacher. The cub was advanced and strong, but still fatigue was something all b'alam dealt with.

'I will be stronger', Kyle thought on those words. He liked the answer. True or not was up to the cub. For now the cub was far from being stronger than anyone on his list. Even now as he panted to the lack of energy at only a few hours past mid-day. They still had more training to do.
Kyle had no answer or comment for the cub's statement. He would have to prove it. All claims were hollow until proven otherwise by mere action.
The arena came into view, by now the shade was starting to reclaim the area from the other side of the circle. Someone had come and taken the carcass away and cleaned up the blood by some means. Kyle knew it was Virtus. He was always sure to complete his duties. He was out now scouting for the enemy, no doubt playing tricks while at it.
Kyle glanced down to Ajax to see how well he had been following along. For such tiny feet he did well to keep up.

Ajax followed after Kyle without another word as he didn't gain an answer from his last statement. Which was okay, the cub didn't care to have an response to his resolve. He did not need it.
As they approched the arena, the cub's ears perked as he noticed the rest of the carcass he pulled from the area, was gone. like it vanished even the hard shell he worked to pull of the harmadillo. Dark ears tilted with Ajax's large fat head.
It wasn't too strange, Ajax wasn't the only paw kyle had. Maybe someb'alam did away with it...well, there was no 'maybe' about it. Someb'alam did and that was it.
Don't be a cub Ajax...
As Kyle looked down to him, Ajax was dutiful and looked back up at him.

Kyle had missed the cub's reaction the the carcass being gone. It wouldn't have been anything he would have taken pride in anyways. He was not a prankster like Virtus was. Kyle liked to be to the point and found little amusement out of life. Life was an endless battle, and there was no room for anyone to play jokes when on the battle field.
"Tell me your weaknesses." Kyle ordered the cub.
He was curious how much thought had gone into the tasks he had accomplished so far. Surely there were successes, but what had the cub noticed he struggled with. Kyle had his own list based on observations, and excluding the size disadvantage, noticed a few things that might hinder the cub. Thankfully it was not an infuriatingly long list. So far Kyle had been very proud of the cub, he had done well. There were, as of now, no regrets to taking him on as an apprentice.

"I'm still a cub." Ajax stated in a huff, his dark tail flicked. Knowing that was not a satisfying answer.
"I'm...not strong." The words left his maw rather difficulty and had a bitter taste to them. He knew when he became an adult everything wouldn't be easier, he would have to re-learn a lot of things, with his new size. New size meant new lessons, life wouldn't become magically better.
So what was his weakness?
"And I strive in what could be and not what is not now?" The cub added, contorting his brow. Was that said right, was that even a 'thing'? He was fixated in what he could be, and not what he was now. However, was that really a weakness, if one accepted that-but worked to become better?

GunSniper:
Kyle remained silent as he listened to the cub's list. Yes, all things he had considered since he had decided to take on this apprentice. All things had been a weakness. When it seemed as if the cub had nothing left to say Kyle looked down his nose at the young one.
"You dwell on what is to be rather than what there is now. Strength will come in time. Impatient to change will blind you to what is currently changing." Kyle added. "The weaver intended cubs to become adults, but you wish all too quickly to become different."
That was at least at the top of the list of things Kyle had noticed. However, he had seen the cub continue to work with what he had, which was impressive for one so small.
"You have focus when in the moment, but your mind wanders when outside of that moment."
Kyle paused a moment to assess the cub once again. "Strength can be trained for, strength is what I will forge into you. How will you overcome your weakness?" (Magus Word count: 8174 )

Dark ears remained perked and open as he listed to his teacher. Large worn paws shifted a little in his sit. taking a slow deep breath the cub released it as he looked up to his leader.
So what he had was a weakness? Wanting to be stronger and not focusing on the strength he was training for, was wrong? Ajax's ear shifted a bit more as Kyle spoke of the Grand Weaver, admittedly it was weird to hear someb'alam talk of him lately that was outside his Clan and not Crucible.
The Cub was open to reason, and teachable-he may not fully understood why Kyle was saying-but perhaps in time he would.
"By Training?" The Cub spoke as Kyle asked him what he would do to temper his weakness. "And more focus?" Ajax suggested with a slight tilt of his head.

Gunsniper:
"Your answer should not be a question. It makes your misunderstanding obvious." Kyle growled. Cubs were not his expertise, but he was still resolved to take this one under his wing. He was not ready to spar with the other soldiers just yet, but in time he would be big enough to handle a brutal thrashing from another b'alam. Or, deal the thrashing.
"Focus on what you have now and work to improve it slowly. You are a cub, not an adult. In time you will be, but for now you have a smaller body. If you waste your time being angered at your own body because it has not reached adulthood, you will make a poor soldier. Is that more clear?"
Kyle waited for the answer while glaring down at the cub, studying his every motion, blink, and expression. Really, he had to learn the cub as well... and this being only the second day he had a ways to go.

Ajax looked up Kye and listened intently to his words. A slow breath was released from the cub but his ears remained perked and turned forward. Mentally he nodded to Kyle's intruction. Answers should not be questions. It was something he would stow away in his growing mind. "Yes, Tah." Ajax spoke with a nod as Kyle called for a response. "Thank you." The cub nodded they second way he explained himself, helped the cub to understand. Dark tail shifted a little behind the cub as he waited for his next instruction

Kyle puffed a breath. Only time will tell if the cub would truly live up to the orders. Perhaps by than his wish to be an adult will be fulfilled. At least by than he would be able to train with the other soldiers. For now he was stuck in his own personal training to prevent crippling injuries, or death. Perhaps he could find an aggressive bork for him to fight... or run drills. Kyle gestured for Ajax to follow, training would continue...
