"Just a bug," Quartz reassured Annie. She glanced over at him just in time to see a fennekit poke the Fey's hand with its nose. She giggled quietly. With a coatl around her leg and a vespercat strolling along so casually at their sides, it seemed the ruins were full of friendly creatures. They continued to examine the drawings and wandered a little deeper into the ruins. Quartz's fingers itched with the urge to touch some of the drawings they saw; she firmly locked her hands behind her back each time the urge came upon her, not wanting to add to the degradation of the ancient artwork.

"I bet they do. I wonder how old these are. If there might be things represented from back then that don't exist any more. You know, like a race or species that could have died out, or areas that used to be more green or something," she explained. Quartz was at the point of pulling her sketch book out of her bag to copy some of the more interesting doodles when a splash of color not on the wall caught her eye. She leaned over and plucked up a pretty piece of rock from the ground.

"I wonder how many kinds of rock there are around here," she murmured, holding the piece up so Annie could see it. As she straightened she noticed another junior, an Imp, watching them. She stared back curiously, noting the tendrils that swirled around the person's arms and changing her initial observation. "Hello," she offered cautiously, not used to initiating conversation but wanting to polite after making eye contact.

Odessa turned from the sanctioned off area, not sure where to go next. She saw a fork in the halls that turned back the other way that she hadn't explored yet, so she started walking that way. As she moved down she was a bit surprised to see that the ground had little water marks on it. It struck her as a bit odd but the further she moved she noticed that little drips were hitting her shoulders and head. It seemed like there was a water source above them, which was a little sad because if the hole got bigger it could completely destroy the walls and a lot of history would be lost.

Cass was starting to get a little tired of these bugs. He felt a couple on the back of his neck, trying to bite him. He shewed it away just to have a much bigger beetle fly into his face. He jumped in surprise, letting out a sound of surprise. He frowned when the beetle left, not knowing himself to be so squeamish, but in his defense, the beetle was rather large. As he stepped forward, trying to get away from the other bugs, he noticed what looked to be light coming from the wall. He reached forward to get a better look only to be completely spooked by a spider that came crawling out of it. Startled, he swore that he'd never look at bugs the same way again.

5: You go down a corridor. There's a giant snake-looking statue here! Its tongue sticks out at you.

Roshan had been dead asleep when the chaperones came around to wake everyone up. They rubbed sleepily at their eyes but managed to drag themselves out of bed and dressed in time to meet up with everyone. Roshan made sure they had enough salves for the trip before walking over to grab a canteen.

When the group arrived at the ruins, Roshan gazed at the pyramids in the distance. They were really quite amazing to see. The hybrid looked around and noticed most people had already grouped around the entrance they were about to descend. At the mention of taking home things, Roshan became uneasy. They didn't want to take something that could be used for study! Roshan decided then and there that they wouldn't take any artifacts they came across.

Descending the stairs was a blessing as already the air was starting to feel too hot for Roshan. The ruins, being underground, made for a much cooler atmosphere. The hybrid followed dutifully behind the tour guide and listened to the answers she gave to various questions. There was so much to learn!

13: You see a trail of crumbs and decide to follow it, and run into... a familiar! You may pick 1 familiar.

Then a crunch from their footstep made Roshan halt. Had they just crushed an artifact?! Looking down, they noticed it was nothing but a cookie piece someone had dropped. As Roshan looked, they noticed a whole trail of crumbs. The odd thing was that it led away from the group. Curiosity got the better of them as they wandered toward a wall with a crack. They took a step back out of surprise when a Coatl popped its head out.

"Oh, hello," Roshan said. The Coatl hissed at them curiously, inching slowly closer. Roshan grabbed their cheesey cracker snacks from their bag and held it toward the Coatl. Seeing the food, the creature quickly darted forward, ate the cracker sandwhich, and begun wrapping itself around Roshan's arm. "I guess you want to come with me," Roshan said with a smile. The Coatl made no move to leave.

They jogged to catch up with the group. It appeared others were wandering off but eventually came back. Roshan's new familiar kept squirming unless Roshan was petting it so that's exactly what the hybrid did while they continued to listen to the guide.

Before Amber could make up her mind whether to wander up the passage a bit further, Topaz came around the corner. Her mother's hooves echoed against the stone as she came up. "There you are. Warn me before you wander off next time."

Amber smiled up at her apologetically. "Sorry Mama. I thought I heard a sound and followed what looked like a kidden, but it got away. I did find this though," she added, holding up her newfound treasure. Topaz squatted down and took the bag, examining it carefully as she turned it over in her hands before giving it back. "Candy coins. Probably planted to add a bit of fun towards the learning experience, though I daresay some of the staff are enjoying the treats as well.". Topaz grinning and ruffled Amber's hair. "Good find."

Topaz lifted her head as a sound reached her ears. Though Baphomet weren't particularly noted for keen hearing, she still had a pretty good set of ears on her. "What was that," she wondered aloud, standing up and taking Amber's hand as she drifted further down the passage. She frowned, learning so close to the wall she almost had her ear pressed against it. There was some kind of shuffling noise, almost like something was in the wall. Or behind it.

Amber's much larger, most sensitive ears twitched and turned as she picked up on the sounds her mother was hearing. "I think it's coming from this direction," she said, pointing towards a left turn ahead of them. Frowning slightly in concentration she let go of her mother's hand and began to trot down the path, hoping to follow the sound, when she found herself sprawling face-first towards the ground after her legs met a very solid obstacle. She had time to let out a muffled squeaking sound and heard an odd bleating noise before she hit the ground. Amber quickly rolled over and spotted a kidden, downed like she was and looking equally bemused by the whole situation. Was it perhaps the same one she'd been trying to follow earlier?

Kiessi was a bit surprised that the vespercat was still following them. They reached into their pack and pulled out a few pieces of jerky, offering it to the cat. It hungrily chomped it down and then wound its way against Kiessi. They smiled, letting their hand glide across its soft fur before moving further down the corridor. They hardly noticed when the walls started to change, that was until the cat alerted them. They looked up, noticing that the depictions were different, almost as if they were indicating some sort of ritual. They couldn't make much out of it, but it definitely looked interesting!
